cheer captain
i just made cheer captain for my high school jv squad. two other girls are both co-captains. im super excited, but im kind of worried..i dont want to let my coach down and make her think i dont deserve it, but i dont want to be too pushy to the other girls and make them hate me haha. anyways, please give me any advice you can think of about certain things to do, not to do, and all that other good stuff thanks!! :D

well when i was captain i asked people wat they wanted to do.
&& dont put yourself in front for every half time.
switch it up and put people in different positons, ask them where they want to be & stuff.
& mostly for like any major decisions, get the whole team to vote for wat they want.
also, if like one of the girls doesnt understand how to do something, help them out until they understand it.
this will show that your willing to spend ur time helping the squad improve
& about the coach, just like stay after and help her with like w.e she needs, like squad stuff.

don't do what JUST you want to do, take a vote if you need to. and if you're out of ideas, don't be afraid to ask your squad, you're the captain to keep things in order and to help things to smoothly, not to think of everything and anything.
just keep things organized,and don't let the squad get out of control.
oh and this might be completely out of what you were talking about lol but if you have different uniforms and you have to take team pictures, please ask the squad which one THEY want to wear, majority rules.
my squad captain was a huge buttface about it and chose the one uniform everyone hated but she liked cause the one she wanted to wear,her top was too tight.
so just don't be too controlling lol

basically to be a good captain is to never say "Well i'm the captain so whatever i choose goes" yes that is normally how it goes but for most things you should have the whole squad choose. this way they know you aren't going to take up all this power which could make them not vote for you in the coming seasons. But one thing you are in charge of is making sure they dont get out of hand. cheerleading is a tough one because everyone loves to talk...especially after you just ran through your routine. keep that down and the catiness down and you'll be great =] hope this helped.

first off...congratulations!
what you do is you need to be helpful, not bossy.
just help people out and be a leader, but dont get cocky and think your THE leader, because that will make the other players hate you, as well as (especially) the other captains.
just be nice and dont worry about it
