I want to join a sport, but am not sure how to go about it.

Hello! So I'm a 7th grader, and I'm kind of a very flamboyant, non-sporty kid, even though I demonstrate being athletically pretty good. I recently went to a hockey game for our hs and I decided that I really want to play hockey. It seems to me to be a sport that I think fits perfectly within my inteserest, but I sort of have an issue; I've literally never played hockey. Apart from helping my sister with field hockey, and the occasional floor hockey for PE, I know nothing about hockey. I feel like because of my age, it's a difficult point to jump in, as many people my age are advanced. So, I guess really, all I'm asking is, how do you think I should start?

Cheerleading dilemma

I don't know what i should do. I'm a cheerleader as a flyer but I got injured a few weeks ago right before the start of competition season. I still attended every practice when I was injured and they ended up making a base a flyer obviously because I couldn't practice at the time. Now I am all better and they are still keeping me as an alternate instead of giving me a spot on the mat. I was on the competition team last year as an alternate and this year is my senior year. It would be heartbreaking if I never had the opportunity to compete with my team on the mat. I get that the new girl has been working hard but she is still not to my level and she's only a sophomore. I want to talk to my coach about it but i'm afraid she'll get mad at me ...

Love or Education?

I have to choose between two sports, a sport that I love and spend all my time thinking about and a sport that I for the most part dislike, but is really good for my college application. I am better at the second sport, but it’s just not fun for me!! Which should I choose and why???

I have been playing hockey since 1st grade. Now I’m a freshman in high school. I want to to play school hockey this year, because I love to play hockey but I don’t know if I can. Even though I’ve been playing for a while, I’m not nearly as good as most kids in my grade. And all of the kids in my grade that would be in my hockey team are mean, popular kids. I’m on varsity soccer, and want to play baseball this spring so I have enough requirements, i just don’t know if I should play hockey or not.

throwing in track or doing lacrosse

my school just got a lacrosse team and but i throw in track since freshmen year and i am going in to my 3rd year of high school. i like throwing but i want something new. i have never played lacrosse but the team is new so they will teach me. if i do lacrosse i feel like i wasted two years doing throwing in track. most of my fellow throwers are doing lacrosse. but i don't know if it is my thing. Help! please.

What and when to talk to my coach about me not playing lacrosse

I play lacrosse on a travel team and I've always played on my school team in the spring. this year I do not want to play on the school team but my coach thinks I am trying out. Today there is a mandatory meeting for all girls trying out for the team. I am not trying out so I don't know if I should attend the meeting or not. But later on today I have lacrosse practice with my travel team but my coach for the travel team is the same coach as the school team. Should I go to the meeting and tell her at practice later that I am not playing on the school team? Or should I not go to the meeting so she knows I'm not gonna play and then explain to her at practice later why I am not trying out? HELP

Am I able to play football?

I am in seventh grade and I was wondering if I could play football in eighth grade. I weigh 133 pounds and I am 5'5. Not that much in shape and have more of a smaller body type. I was planning on working out this summer if I have to because I really want to play but I don't know if it will be too much for me. What position could I play also, I asked some people but that didn't really help. I don't think I can play like on of the bigger guys who is supposed to tackle anybody but I thought maybe running back or something would be okay. This will also be my first time playing on a team since I never did sports as a kid but a lot of my friends are doing football so I wanna do it too. A lot of the other kids are way more experienced too. Please help!

Which martial art to progress self development?

Hello!
As the headline says, im trying to be a better man, and being able to do some self defense is never bad idea. I heared that some martial arts are tied with some sort of philosophy and through it teaching other things for life then just "beating people" (because beating people is NOT my desire in the first place). I will be most grateful if you give me any suggestions i could follow.

Should I get a pitching coach?

So I’ve been playing softball for a while now and I’ve pitched about three innings in my entire life. Then today we had a meet up with my team because the season was over, and he told me that I did good and I should keep doing it.
After the meeting my mom came to me and asked if I could seriously consider getting a pitching coach so I could become better. And I’m sure you know that those are expensive. I don’t want my parents to waste their money on something that I’m not sure I want to do. It seems fun and all but I just don’t know.
Not to mention, I don’t even think I’m that good. I don’t want my parents spending money on my sister and I together. By the way I’m in middle school. Thanks.
