Swimming vs Flexibility Posted Thursday July 22 2010, 5:18 pm
Right so im a cheerleading/gymnast/trampolinist
ironically i have terrible stamina, to confront this i like to swim, however i find this messes up my flexibility
is this normal.. is there something i could do to stop it?

Ok so ive been an Alsstar cheerleader since 2006/7
and a trampolinist on and off since 2004.
im now 17
I recent took an intret to gmynastics, aswell as still doing cheerleading
heres the thing
i REALLY want to make it to the top (or at leasta high figure for a UK gymanst)... to be a olypician by 2012. for the olypics. posssible?
i work out alot, stretch alot
im already flexible, my muscles are... okayish. but are getting better :)
i know everyone says you need to start gym at like 6 to be an olypiain. but ive seen gymnasts who ahve started at like 12 and still made it
im so confused. i really want this.

hey im a flyer in cheerleading and i need ways to stretch everyday to gain flexibility and so i can hit my heel stretches and scorpians and bow & arrows and scale and stuff really easy. i have been a flyer for three years so i know what im doing i just have a hard time to get them all right. what are way to help me like stretches i can do? thanks if your answer is good ill give u a five! :) thankss

What exercises can I do which won't hurt my feet? Posted Wednesday July 7 2010, 2:15 pm
I currently have a foot condition (affecting both feet) which means I am unable to take part in any exercise which requires extended use of them. I really want to improve my health and fitness but the only exercise I can think of which I will be able to do right now is swimming. Are there any other things I could do?

its too hot to run outside, but i train for cross country . what swimming exercises can i do to build up my endurance? i try to run 2.5 - 3 miles everyday but i havent the last 3 days AT ALL cause its just too hot.

i have a new coach for my volleyball team and this year before season starts we have to run 2 miles in 16 minutes. I have never been a good runner, and i definetly have never run a 16 min 2 mile, or even an 8 minute mile....what should i do to get ready for this?!obviously run, but i just need some tips to get myself motivated.

Heyy i am a varsity cheerleader for my school and my coach is yelling at us to turn our hips out. I really don't kno wat that means. Like my jumps have been good and all and i just need help. Is there any easy way to help me turn them out?? Also could you help me to get my jumps higher too??? My toe touch is high but i would want it to be higher. Is there anyway to help me?? Thanks you!!

Hi so I'm a cheerleader/gymnast. I am flexible enough to do a scorpian and almost a heel stretch. I need some stretches I can do to make my stunting better and to help me with my flexiblity. If any one knows anything I can do so I can become more flexible that would be great. Also how do you pull your scorpians? I have a weird way I grab my feet and I need help on how to grab it quicker. (if you don't know the answer to that it's ok.) also if you answer I'll rate but I need everyones oppinion so if I have already rated someone please still answer and I'll rate yours too!!! I'm a cheerleader and this year I'm doing more advanced stunting. I'm a flyer which Is I go in the air. I am able to do a lib which is standing on one foot. I can also do a scorpian but have troble balancing. Any tips? on balancing. Also I need advice on flyin in a basket toss how do you do it!? An I need help on other things like an arabisk? ( idk how to spell it) and when you pull a scorpian how do you hold it and other stretching advice for making scorpians and heel stretches. How do you pull a heel stretch easily? also a tik tock, and a twist pop(AKA a full twist or full down) I can already do a twist but I need tips on how to stay tight in the air and how to get all the way aroun and in the cradle position. I need tips on all of this and how can you fly in a basket toss?

Hi there, I'm 20 years old and from South Africa and would like to have a brand like nike or adidas sponsor me. I play action netball and was 1 of three nominated for the best six aside player in the world but I am currently the best six aside defender. We played tri-nations this year in South Africa and in two years time we go on tour to Australia. With these achievements that I've been working for, for a long long time now I am well known by all in the action netball sports category... The sponsorship would help me with my funds and will be good publicity for the brand. Please tell me what to do to get this sponsor?

so we just lost in soccer to our rival in the states game. im the goalie. and i played terrible. i had the worst game of my entire season, if not career. i couldnt get a save for the life of me. the game ended up going into overtime and we lost by one. there were so many people at the game, literally like 200, and they all pretty much know me well. I not only feel like a failure, but i let myself, my coaches and my team down. its been about 3 days since the game and i still have this terrible pit feeling in my stomach. to make it worst, the school that was scouting me for college was there. i feel so ashamed. idk. i had been having such an amazing season so far! i had stepped up so strong in so many games. it sucks that this was...

Should I give up trying out for 2 volleyball clubs because I'm too short? Posted Thursday May 20 2010, 6:24 am
I'm 5'4" and I play Outside Hitter. I have a high reach though.. because I'm able to get kills and block, sometimes better than people a couple inches taller than me. I just moved to Dallas, Texas and I want to try out for 2 really good clubs, Skyline Juniors or Victory but after looking at how tall their Outside Hitters are (5'8"-6'0") I am scared! The other club I was in, in a different state, wasn't as competitive.. but I'm serious about playing volleyball and want to play better and participate in bigger tournaments, but.. I'm scared in advance about trying out.
Will they even bother to pay attention to me because I'm so short in the volleyball world? I love playing but I'm self conscious over my height a l...

I have a major crisis.. i just got my period today and in a month i'm supposed to go to florida for volleyball nationals and i'm supposed to get my next period during that tournament :( the reason why this sucks is because
- i can't wear tampons. like i've tried at least 20 times and it just doesn't work for me. and there's no way i can get the experience now and be able to succeed wearing them in a month.
- the place we are staying at (rental home) has our own private pool and i can 90% guarantee that we will be swimming a lot.
- nobody on my team knows that i can't wear tampons, so it would be really embarrassing if i told them that i can't go swimming because i have my period.
