I have gone from younggrandma to just yg. Now,
I am using my real name.
I don't think anyone who knows me will have trouble figuring out who that is!

I have been gone a while dealing with things in my own life. I am back now to help once again. Do not expect answers from me that just tell you what you want to hear. Life is to short for nonsense. :)

i should learn to spell that word epilepcy well as you guessed i am epileptic i have been for 18 years well i was thinking if you had it in child hood into adulthood can it be cured when it is not getting any better
(link)
Currently there is no cure for epilepsy. With luck they might find a cure one day. For some people it does eventually just go away.

This is what I found about the likelihood of it going away taken from website National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke

One study found that children with idiopathic epilepsy, or epilepsy with an unknown cause, had a 68 to 92 percent chance of becoming seizure-free by 20 years after their diagnosis. The odds of becoming seizure-free are not as good for adults or for children with severe epilepsy syndromes, but it is nonetheless possible that seizures may decrease or even stop over time. This is more likely if the epilepsy has been well-controlled by medication or if the person has had epilepsy surgery.

I am a 16 year old female with a 17 year old boyfriend. I drive, he doesn't. We live about 30 minutes from each other.

My boyfriend gets upset with me because I don't want to hang out every opportunity we have. It's very difficult for us to hang out. I can drive BUT my parents won't allow me to drive him anywhere or go to his house.

When he comes over to my house, my parents usually let him stay no later than 9:00 and my parents drive him home. I live about 45 minutes away from the movie theater (this is really the only teenage hangout spot around here). It really wears me out to go to the movies even for a few hours. I'm really one who doesn't like to hang out with friends. I'm tend to be a homebody.

We got into this big argument over how I never WANT to do anything. I will hang out with him even though I don't really want to because I get worn out easily. We see each other every day at school.

So, any ideas on what to tell him? (link)
In all honesty you need to tell him to find someone
who likes going out and doing the things he likes to do.

Most teens are very social. They like hanging out with friends. If you aren't then your relationship will not last long. Not that there is anything wrong with being a homebody, it just won't get you much in the way of a boyfriend. :)

who wrote this quote??... "You can't have your cake and eat it too." (link)
A dramatist named John Heywood was the first to use it, at least in the written form.

Hello,
My husband and I are in our 40s. We want to sell some land that was gifted to me by my Mother, but she is upset that I want to sell. I do appreciate the gift, and wish to sell to siblings, (they own some of it too) but I have always wanted a farm and a place to call my own. We simply can't live on that ground due to our jobs here, that we enjoy. We have no other finances to build our dream of a country life. I don't want to cause a tiff in the family as I am the one who never makes waves--but then silently I allow resentment to build.

I am torn, because if I keep the ground I can't build my dream, and if I sell the ground I hurt my Mom's feelings.

What do you think and how would you react? (link)
I think you need to talk to Mom and tell her all about the dream home. Since you would be selling to
your siblings I don't understand why she would have a big objection.

Her feelings may be a little hurt at first. I'm sure she feels happy she is able to leave you some land of your own. If you explain that she would be helping you to achieve a dream home though, she may
see it a little differently.

Best of luck on that dream home!

i havent hit puburty yet can it hurt me if i still wack off thanks (link)
No. :)

I'm not very good with computers and I need to run a disc scan on my computer. Could anyone explain to me how to do that? Thank you so much! (link)
Go to Start
All Programs
Accessories
System Tools
Disc cleaner

Click on disc cleaner
Instructions are simple from there.

If you have never done it before you might also want
to run disc defragmenter after you clean the disc.
It is right there in the same place as the cleaner.
It will put all your files and folders back where they belong, and may speed you up a little. :)

Hey. Well on the Grey's Anatomy commercial that plays on Lifetime(show), there's this song that's starts out like

"The first love is the deepest..."

Well I don't know the rest so if you know what I'm talking about I would really appreciate it you told me what the song is called and who it's by. Thanks (link)
Its called "The First cut is the deepest" and Sheryl
Crow wrote and recorded it.

I am 51, my mom is 80. How do I handle her when we go shopping and she starts to lecture me that I am spending too much money and I really dont need to buy any more clothes unless I see something special. You see I get angry and say how dare she make comments and tell me what to do and how to do it and what to buy. HELP (link)
Control your temper. Just INFORM her you are over 21 and will buy what you like, same as she can. Don't argue with her at all. Just state the fact and ignore her if she keeps baiting you.

She probably isn't going to change her ways at her age. You don't have to play however. :)

This is sort of a dumb question, but curiosity has gotten the best of me.

What was the first time that the word fuck was used in a recording?I've noticed that in "We Can Be Good Together" by Jefferson Airplane, they say "tear down the wall, motherfucker".I don't recall hearing it anywhere prior to this,so was this it? (link)
This is from the wikipedia. :)

Perhaps the earliest usage of the word in popular music was the 1938 Eddy Duchin release of the Louis Armstrong song "Ol' Man Mose". The words created a scandal at the time, resulting in sales of 170,000 copies during the Great Depression years when sales of 20,000 were considered blockbuster. The verse reads:

(We believe) He kicked the bucket,
(We believe) Yeah man, buck-buck-bucket,
(We believe) He kicked the bucket and ol' man mose is dead,
(We believe) Ahh, fuck it!
(We believe) Buck-buck-bucket,
(We believe) He kicked the bucket and ol' man mose is dead.

well on this site i answered a persons question and even elaborated on it and they gave me a 2 what is that? (link)
It meant they didn't like your answer. If you feel it was rated wrong, file an abuse report. Include the link to the question.

I'm a girl who will be turning 16 in February. I'm a virgin. Do you have to go to the gynocologist if you're not sexually active and you don't have any vaginal or reproductive problems? If so, when should you start going? Also, how do you find a gynocologist? Thanks very much. (link)
If you have a family doctor there is really no need to visit a gyno. Family doctors can do the same exams you need.

You don't HAVE to get an internal exam just because you turn 16. It is good to go before you decide to become sexually active though. They can get you on the pill, and discuss any questions you might have,
Plus make sure everything is in good working order.

If you want to use a gynecologist just look in your phone book. If you have a regular doctor who doesn't do pelvic exams, they would be happy to refer you to someone who does. :)

Last night I smoked weed for my second or third time and I got REALLY sick after I smoked. (Like right after I took the hit) I almost threw up..is this normal?! Also, my throat was killingg me..but it didnt hurt like that the first time I smoked! It was so weird. And today I feel really tired and a little nauseous and I have a terrible cough..is this normal? Is there anything I can do to feel better? How long do these feelings last? (link)
Weed can be laced with almost anything. Maybe it was sprayed with weed killer. You really take the chance of getting really sick or even dying anytime you deal with an illegal substance. Yes even weed.

If you are that sick I recommend going to the emergency room and telling what happened.

If you want to feel better, stay away from it next time. If it was laced with something you will probably feel bad until it is out of your system.
No way of telling you how long because that would depend on what it was.

I've never gone to a gynecologist before. What is it like? What do they do to you and what's going through your mind? I'm really nervous and having someone other than my boyfriend touch me down there, is weird. (link)
Here is a site that will tell you exactly what to expect.

http://www.coolnurse.com/pelvic_exams.htm

what is a good age too tell your mom that you have a boyfriend? (link)
Might be a better idea to just go to her and ask her if you can have one. See what she says.

There is a difference between just having a boyfriend at school and having one you get in a car and go out with. I think you need to be 16 to go out with a boy alone. Before that you could go out as a group with others and it would be OK.

If you have a boyfriend now, just go ahead and tell her about the guy you like. :)

I'm looking for love songs that are specifically about long distance relationships or missing someone that's far away or that's working far away or anything like that. Any genre, any kind of music really, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks! (link)
I will show my age for sure. The only one I can think of is Faithfully, by Journey.

thanks younggrandma! --for the forum-- (link)
No problem. Hope you enjoy it. :)

how do you make a forum? (link)
Link sent to inbox. :)

how do i know if a hair product has alcohol in it (link)
Check the list of ingredients on the bottle or box.
They have to list the contents. If alcohol is in it,
they will list it there.

Bear with me; this is a several part question.

-Is it morally wrong to give advice about a situation you've never been in? For example, give sex advice if you've never had sex?

-Is it morally wrong to give advice you don't follow, even if the advice is sound? For example, an eating disordered person giving nutrition advice, or a couch potato giving exercise tips? What if this information is provided to correct erroneous information offered by another source?

This is assuming that the advice you give is valid, despite it being contradictory to your actions. I'm interested in seeing what people think. (link)

-Is it morally wrong to give advice about a situation you've never been in?

I think it would be difficult to give sex advice if you have never had it, on some levels. Answering any question you know nothing about can get an account banned if it is wrong. It is strongly discouraged.

As far as saying I don't think its a good idea at your age, or linking to site a about birth control and all that, its okay. As a matter of fact just reading and giving those links may help the adviser learn some things. That's always a good thing.

I think we have a moral obligation to tell them things that hopefully keep them from getting pregnant or getting an STD, those kinds of things.
And if they do get themselves in trouble tell them
their options and encourage them to speak to an adult preferably a parent.

I don't feel we need to give them "tips" on positions or how to perform sex acts. I personally feel that is giving them the go-ahead to do them.
Kind of like telling them how to load the gun to blow their brains out.

-Is it morally wrong to give advice you don't follow, even if the advice is sound?

I don't think so. Example, a smoker knows how difficult it is to stop. Encouraging people not to
do something you do can be a good thing. You can use your experiences to teach others not to begin something they may regret later.

I have been through a teen pregnancy. I survived but it altered my life a lot. If I can encourage even one girl from thinking it would be "fun" to have a baby at 16 I think that is a good thing. So
I don't encourage what I did, but have the experience to say don't do as I did because I didn't follow that advice at your age.

If you ever see incorrect advice, file an abuse report. Correcting bad advice is perfectly acceptable too. It may leave the asker wondering who is right though. File a report and we can have it deleted if it is really dangerous or something.

Good question. :)
