I am planning on getting my hair cut in big, puffy, layers. I want to have that big 80's hair. (I'm assuming most people know what it looked like.)

Obviously I will need a hairspray to keep my big hair in place. I need a hairspray that adds tons of volume to my hair, without making it stiff, brittle, or sticky. I also would like a hairspray that is affordable.

What hairsprays would you recommend?

I personally like the garnier fructis one.

is it hard to get hired by them? and is it hard to work there? how do people remember how to make all these 50 billion coffees and what ingredients people want in them like extra whatever

I don't think its necessarily hard to get hired (my friend just got a job at one in a grocery store) but i think it would be hard to remember all the coffees. he said that they train you A LOT before they put you on the floor. they test you to see how good you are and you have to be at 100% before they do. so if you like learning, it wouldn't be too bad but it you want a simple job, i'd go with something else.

people drink it for a lot of different reasons...
some drink it with meals because that's their heritage, fit in in high school [which i don't recommend], to get drunk &/or forget their troubles [alcoholism], to loosen up & dance, or just to have a good time. if you don't like it, don't drink it. no one will make you. before you completely condemn it tho, turn 21 & try other kinds besides what you have tried already. you'll probably end up liking something by that time. oh, by the way, a lot of people do hate the tase of alcohol but figure that after a couple swigs, they won't care/notice what it tastes like anymore.

I am in cross country, so i run about 5 days a week. I don't have my period at all for months during the time I am running every day. But when I stop running for a couple weeks then I do have it. So I know that it isn't regular because of the running. My question is though, is it unhealthy to not get your period? Even if it is because of doing some thing actually healthy.

this happens to a lot of runners [and swimmers]. for a lot of people it's just normal especailly if you haven't had it very long. I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with you but if you think something is wrong, go to your doctor.

I'm looking for some good songs to listen to when I'm working out. So obviously, they should be fairly fast and upbeat.

I listen to rock and soft metal/hair metal. I REALLY like stuff from the 80s like Guns N Roses, Poison, Kiss, Led Zeppelin. My favorite bands are usually 10 or 20 years old, but I like a few new bands.

So does anyone know any good rock songs I can work out to?

No Rap. No Pop. No girly stuff. And I like SOME emo, but not a lot.

Okay, so what do you guys look for in a girl? From what I can tell in school its just looks and style basically. I have neither of them. I'm just...me.

I'm 5'6", 15/f. A little overweight. I have really dark brown, curly hair that almost looks black and dark brown eyes. I love being creative. I love to write. I'm working on writing something book-like right now. I also enjoy reading a lot. I'm not a genius or anything but I'm not an airhead. I love all animals. I'm pretty shy when I first meet someone, but once I warm up to them, I'm a lot different.

Does that sound like something guys would like? Most of the guys I know look for the "hot" girls that dress nice.

You don't need to be "hot" to get guys. a lot of guys i know like someone with cool interests and that are smart... they're kinda rare but they will come. find guys that also like to write and read... talk about books until you find other stuff you have in common. if you want, you could put some time into your appearence. straighten your hair every now & then to change it up a bit & just wear what you like. if you need anything else, let me know.

I am a professional costume wearer. By that, I mean I have been an elf, a giraffe, a moose, T-Rex and a character for a major hamburger chain. I am presently a character for a major cereal company. Once I am in costume, I am not allowed to speak.

Adults and older children think nothing of hitting me, kicking me, pulling at parts of my costume, and trying to knock me down. One 12-year-old even tried to "head butt" me while his father looked on and encouraged him!

I am in costume for about an hour or so before I can take breaks. It gets hot and sweaty inside these costumes. I have a limited field of vision and can't see many of the oncoming attacks. Even if I saw each one, I would not be able to say anything to stop or deflect these random attacks. What I do is have a paid "helper" walk beside me. This is now discouraging such actions by adults and children.

Any advice to get the kids and parents to stop the abuse?

The helper will probably help with this now that you have one... they can keep people far enough away from you so you don't get hurt. another thing you could do is stand where you can be seen but not come up to... like stand on a roof or other non-accesible area and wave to the customers instead.

my problem is with my best friend's mom. she's really competitive and wants her daughter to be the best at everything... grades, sports, popularity in school, whatever. well, any time i do better at something (which happens a lot actually), her mom kinda freaks out. i mean, she's always really nice to me, but i can tell it drives her crazy.

well, one thing her mom really wants is for my friend to have a boyfriend. but my friend is really shy around guys, and even though a lot of guys ask her out, she always says no. and her mom gets mad at her about it. and i know her mom is really jealous that i've had a boyfriend for over a year.

but now for the big problem. my boyfriend's family is really good friends with my friend's family. and lately, my friend's mom has been inviting them to do all this stuff, and always tells my boyfriend how much fun he's gonna have with my friend! its like shes trying to get them together. and then she (the mom) tells me all about what they did and how much fun they had together, like she's trying to rub it in and make me jealous. well, it's working, cuz i AM getting jealous, and really mad too!

i know... if my boyfriend ends up liking my friend, there's nothing i can do about it. i don't actually think he will, though... but i can't help worrying about it a little. but mostly i'm just mad that her mom is doing this! its like she can't stand me having this guy so she's trying to steal him away for her daughter.

i guess this isn't really a question, cuz there's probably nothing i can do about it. but if anyone has any advice for me, i'd love to hear it.

He's your boyfriend so maybe you should tell him that it bugs you that he's hanging out with this girl one on one. I'm not saying you should be controlling or sound jealous but maybe you should tell him & he'll change his mind about going over there all the time. this woman's trying to break you down... if he still hangs out with her, make sure you guys hang out too... take pictures and keep them with you. tell this lady all about how you've been together a year & how you would never wanna let him go... just don't make it obvious that you are mad... just that you know her little game. if you need anything else, let me knowww.

Ok, so I have been going out with a boy for a year, and we haven't had sex yet, because we are waiting until we are married. so my ex boyfriend, who I have known for 3 years, come over to my house and we hang out. We smoke pot with my sister, and blahblahblah. Then we had sex. The next day, I called my boyfriend and told him this, but then I start adding stuff like, I didn't want to, which actually, I didn't. And I told him to stop like 4 times, which I did, but he didn't. Then I quickly added, he was huge, and about as big as you, and he's freakin strong. My boyfriend is like...really tall. I'm about 5"6 and he's like 8 inches taller than me. And so my boyfriend is like, isn't that rape? And I'm like yea...ew. And so we start talking, and then I kept talking about it. I guess it was on my mind. Lol. And I'm like, I tried to call you but he grabbed the phone from me and blah blah blah.
And so I tell my friend about it and she's like, that's rape. And he's such a loser and whatever. And so then on Friday, I go to my dads band practice thing, it happens every Friday, and while I'm there, apparently John and Mia came over and smoked some pot with my sister. And Mia tells John about what I said and stuff. So I called John yesterday, and I'm like hey whats up and he's like, I'm mad at you, Mia said that you told her I raped you blah blah blah. And so I'm all like no I didn't. And I start convincing him that I didn't and that Mia is the one that is being a backstabber. So now he believes me, and I don't really care about him, because my boyfriend told me not to hang around him. ANd I really love my boyfriend, and I don't want to hurt him anymore, I already lied to him, I don't want to anymore. I just want to tell him the truth, but I don't know what to say. Which is what my question is. But I want to make sure he knows that I love him, because I really do. I need ALOT of answers. And if your going to be rude and tell me I'm a tramp. I suggest you don't.

wow. well you DID lie about a rape... do you think it was a rape or are you ok with it like you told john? you have to figure that out first. if it was... you probably should stop smoking and having sex with him, like your boyfriend said. if it wasn't, stop telling people it was. you're giving him a bad name. so your boyfriend & you are waiting for marriage but you had sex with some guy you've known for a while.... no matter how you put it, you cheated on your boyfriend & tried to cover it up saying it was rape. that's a lie. i would just tell him the whole truth & see what happens. you'll probably end up breaking up which is probably the best thing to do now.

ok well, i got kicked in the ear ( i was in the pool) and now it feels like it has a bucket full of water in it and it wont come out. it feels like its all swollen up and it hurts all the time. i mean like really bad. it's like a throbbing pain and if i touch it it just makes it ten times worse. it drains water sometimes. should i go to the doctor? what should i do. how long does it take to heal??

Go to the doctor... i had the same thing after last weekend & they prescribed ear drops that made my swimmer's ear feel better. it will feel better after a day of treatment.

Aww welcome frosh! Don't be afraid to go into high school... there's not as much pressure as people say there is. yes, there are people that do EVERYTHING because of pressure but as long as you KNOW what you want, you'll be fine. to have good judgement, get to know the person you date before you actually go out. ask about him to other people... if he gets around a lot, it's probably not a good idea to go out with him. if he's just a regular sweetie, you're better off wth him. i'm not saying her won't pressure you at all but it's more likely that he won't. a lot of guys will ask you "so how far have you gone" & you'll probably say "kissing" or something and that will probably tell them oh that girl probably won't do much with me. if they ask, just tell them you want to wait. if they try and pressure you more, get them out of your life. most just stop after you say no once or twice...just don't lead them on. really, you will be FINE. i know a lot of virgins that are in high school. if you need anything else, let me know.

My question is about hair. I have thick, wavy curly hair (in a bad way) and recently I've decided to stop straightening it and try different stuff that takes time but I don't know how to control it!!! it never works. my hair is dirty blonde color and has natural highlights it is just above my shoulders and I have an oval face do you know any great hairstyles that I can do that will tame my locks ;)

i have wavy/curley hair too! what i do is take a shower at night (& don't brush it) and i wake up lookin' like shirley temple. then if it's pretty even (some places are curly... some are flatish) but if it's mostly even, i put mouse all over it and like scrunch it then put hairstray in it so it looks the same all day. then i clip my bangs back either in a "poof" thing or just in a clip to get them outta my face and so it doesn't look messy. then i hairpray that.
otherwise, i just put it up in a bun because i'm lazy.

I need help looking for jeans. I want skinny jeans, but not the ones that stick to your skin. Kind of like the baggy skinny jeans, if that makes sense. I've checked Kohl's, Old Navy, Walmart, and Target.
