i've been with this girl for about 6 months now and we've had a great run, full of it's ups and downs. the problem is that she lives really far from me, we see each other every 2 or 3 weeks, and we argue a lot.

Ah .. well the best thing to do is be staight up with her in a nice way. Tell her you guys don't see each other as much as you would like and fight too much. Ah, hard situation. If I was you I would let it go. Why? Because obviously if he liked you as much as it sounds like he would break up with his gf to be with you. Yeah, he might like you and care for you but you also have to remember he has a gf for 3 of the 4 years. That's a pretty long relationship.
