Chances are, the rumors aren't entirely true, but there probably is some truth to them. You should ask him directly about them, and if you're satisfied with the way he answers, then that's your prerogative. It's your life, and if you'd rather find out for yourself, then you can do that. Tell your friends that you appreciate them looking out for you the way that they are, but that if he really is a jerk, then you can figure it out on your own.

You should go straight to the source of all the rumors. Remember, rumors usually start with some shred of truth. They may be a little exaggerated but some of them could be true. If this guy really likes you he'll tell you the truth. Besides, even if the rumors are true, people CAN change.

Rumors are so lame and most of the time not true. Just go up to him or call him and ask him if it's true. He's in 11th grade I think he's matture enough to admit is it's true or not. Don't listen to people til you actully know the truth. If that stuff isn't true and they still don't want you talking to him don't do what you want..it's your life not theres. ♥

Do what makes you happy. If you like this guy & his personality, keep talking to him. Rumors aren't necessarily always true, and if they are, then learn it for yourself. Life is about finding everything out for yourself, and not letting anyone help. If you make a mistake, you make a mistake.

And don't listen to these kids. They seem like the type that'll be like "I told you so, I told you so!" once something bad happens. Not that it will, but if something did happen.
