about
Hey! My name is Ashlea. I've been a member on here for a few years. I'm 24 years old and have a little baby boy. I'm pretty outgoing and I love to joke around. I have a very strong sense of humor and I love making people laugh. I don't care too much about what other people think about me because in the end, you're all you got. Nothing else matters but your true opinion of yourself. I think everyone is beautiful in their own ways. I never look down on anyone nor do I judge people for their decisions or lifestyles. I love to listen to music. That's probably the only reason I like driving, otherwise, It'd be boring as hell. I love spending time with my son. He is by far the best thing that's ever happened to me. He is my best friend and when I'm with him, nothing else matters. The whole world could pass me by, and as long as I have him, it doesn't matter one bit. He's the only one who can truly make me smile. I am truly happy because of him. I love spending money when I have it, and sometimes, that can be a bad habit. I love to write poems, and am told I am very good at it, but only when I'm upset or bothered by something. Lately, though, I have not written any. I also enjoy writing. I seem to have a way with words and I love how a paper sounds after I write it. It makes me sound more intelligent.(lol) I also like to watch movies, mostly comedy and drama...I hate action movies and boy-ish movies. Horror movies give me nightmares(yes, even at this age.) ...I like to go on the computer alot and I love meeting new people, so feel free to get in touch with me!
I hate people who think they are better than you, and people who are snobby or stuck-up. Having that attitude will never get you anywhere in life, and I look at it as a sign of immaturity. I like to be around people that within the first 5 minutes of talking to them you know that you will already feel comfortable with them because they are that down to earth. I can't stand people who criticize other people and their lives. Understand that you, as well, have things about your life that you do not like...so you wouldn't like it very much if people talked about you in a bad way, would you? We're all human, we all make mistakes and run into bad situations. Things happen that we can't control. These are all parts of life though and can be handled with the help of others, which is why negative criticism is not needed.
I believe that what you can't control, you have to let go. Too often we hang onto things when we have no control or power over its outcome, so in the end, life will take its course and we have to just go with it.
I guess some people would say I can be selfish at times, although I choose not to believe that(lol), and if things don't go my way, i WILL be upset. But, I also learn to get over it and move on. I love giving advice. Everyone I know say that's the one thing they love about me the most...I never judge anyone on any of their problems and I truly do enjoy helping people with their problems in any way I can. I will go to any extent I have to in order to help someone else. I have a habit of putting other people's needs ahead of my own. I have been giving people advice and helping people so much with their problems that I don't even get that GREAT feeling anymore from helping people. It's just in my nature and I am happy to just be able to be of some sort of help to anyone: stanger or friend.
I am not here for the ratings or comments. I am only here to help you, and I hope to recieve help in return when I am in need as well. I understand how sometimes you just need somebody to talk to...someone that understands. So don't be afraid to ask me any questions about anything...i'll help you with anything I can. If there is anything I can help you with that you would like to discuss privately, you can note me in my inbox or email me as well as instant message me on AIM. I would be glad to help you. hope to hear from you soon!!

advice
so i want to get my tongue pierced
im not like amazing with pain
when i got my ears done i didnt feel it
so im just wondering if you think its going to be painful?
and what is feels like?
and any other information that you may find useful for me
I've had my tongue pierced before, and I, myself, am also not great with pain.
I was terrifed but it literally lasts about 1 second to get it done. You lay down on the table, you wash your mouth out with listerine and stick your tongue out. The person piercing it will tell you to take one breath in, and at that moment will stick the needle straight through and then the barbell. It is extremely quick and you only feel a pinch for that one second, not even a bad one!
Getting it pierced was not the painful part at all. The aftermath was. I literally could not talk for a few days. I was so swollen and in pain that I couldn't even talk in school back then because of it. I was slurring my words and you couldn't even understand me. The best thing is to wash your mouth with listerine AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!! ..after doing everything: eating, drinking, smoking if you smoke. It is very important that you care for it properly, as it can get very easily infected.

yesterday i went to go pee and it burned really bad and thats never happened before im scared i might have an std but ive only had the same sex partner for the past five months so im not really sure thats the only thing wrong but it really freaked me out
is this something common and i should not worry about it?? what else cud it be besides and std?
It could be a number of things ..it could be an STD such as herpes. I know you say you had the same partner for 5 months but no matter what, you need to take care of your body verses trusing someone else..she could have fooled around with someone else. either way, get CHECKED OUT at the doctors and dont take any chances!!!!
This is what I found and seems very helpful:
1. You could have a mild infection (bacterial or yeast)
2. Herpes comes and goes. (Viral infection) You don't have to have actual intercourse to contact herpes...oral sex, petting with contact of the genitals, etc. can expose you to herpes. Have you been tested? There's the possibility that you have lesions occuring inside your urethra that you can't see.
3. Some external irritant could be hurting the inside of your urethra so that it stings sometimes. Does it sting near the tip or deeper in? Soap or bubble bath could do it., although that would probably be near the tip. Swimming could let chlorine (in a pool or hot tub) or other contaminants (in a pond or river) irritate the urethra. Rough masterbation might also do it.

hope this helped a little!!!
So today out of nowhere my left eye started to hurt. It's mostly when I move it into a certain direction.. like all the way to the left, straight up or all the way to the right.
Any ideas on what might be causing this?
I don't have any history of bad eyesight, too much tv or anything like that.
there is probably something caught in your eye that is too small to realize. have someone blow in your eye while it is open or flush your eye out with water for a good 5-10 minutes.
I am 15 years old and I am a perfectly healthy girl, I have gone through puberty and I have goten everything it comes with except my period, I am 15 years and 7 months old, I dont thnk thats a normal thing, Im not freaking out yet but my friends keep telling me to go to the doctors and stuff so im getting kinda worried. What should I do?
Every girl is different and every body is different. I believe if you don't get your period by the time you're 16, you should see a doctor, so for right now, you're perfectly fine. I got mine for the first time when I was 14, and trust me, you're not missing anything! However, if you don't get it within 5 months, make an appointment just to make sure things are okay. Doesn't hurt to double check on things. Better to be safe than sorry. Take care.
i keep having to peee
like all of a sudden really bad and then very little comes out, very often
and i havent drinkin that much today, just a small cup of cranberry juice, a bottle of water, and a can of minute maid lite...
does anyone know what this is?
thank you
It is most likely a urinary tract infection. Contact your gynocologist so that you can get medicine right away. I also heard cranberry juice will take a urinary tract infection away, so drink up!!

Urinary Tract Infections - UTI

Causes - Symptoms - Treatments
The urinary tract is the body's filtering system for removal of liquid wastes. Women are especially susceptible to bacteria which may invade the urinary tract and multiply resulting in infection.
Although most urinary tract infections (UTI) are not serious, they are painful. Approximately fity percent of all women will have at least one UTI in her lifetime with many women having several infections throughout their lifetime. Fortunately, these infections are easily treated with antibiotics that cause the symptoms to quickly disappear. Some women seem are more prone to repeated infections than others and for them it can be a frustrating battle.
What Causes Urinary Tract Infections?
The most common cause of UTI is bacteria from the bowel that lives on the skin near the rectum or in the vagina which can spread and enter the urinary tract through the urethra.
Once bacteria enters the urethra it travels upward causing infection in the bladder and sometimes other parts of the urinary tract.
Sexual intercourse is a common cause of urinary tract infections because the female anatomy can make women more prone to urinary tract infections. During sexual intercourse bacteria in the vaginal area is sometimes massaged into the urethra by the motion of the penis.
Women who change sexual partners or begin having sexual intercourse more frequently may experience bladder or urinary tract infections more often than women in monogomus relationships. Although it is rare, some women get a urinary tract infection every time they have sex.
Another cause of bladder infections or UTI is waiting too long to urinate. The bladder is a muscle that stretches to hold urine and contracts when the urine is released. Waiting very long past the time you first feel the need to urinate causes the bladder to stretch beyond its capacity which over time can weaken the bladder muscle. When the bladder is weakened it may not empty completely and some urine is left in the bladder which may increase the risk of urinary tract infection or bladder infection.
Other factors may also increase a woman's risk of developing UTI including pregnancy, having urinary tract infections or bladder infections as a child, having past menopause, and diabetes.
What are the Symptoms of Urinary Tract Infections?
Symptoms of UTI or bladder infection are not easy to miss and include a strong urge to urinate that cannot be delayed which is followed by a sharp pain or burning sensation in the urethra when the urine is released. Most often very little urine is released and the urine that is released may be tinged with blood. The urge to urinate recurs quickly and soreness may occur in the lower abdomen, back, or sides.
This cycle may repeat itself frequently during the day or night--most people urinate about six times a day, when the need to urinate occurs more often a bladder infection should be suspected.
When bacteria enters the ureters and spread to the kidneys, symptoms such as back pain, chills, fever, nausea, and vomiting may occur, as well as the previous symptoms of lower urinary tract infection.
Proper diagnosis is vital since these symptoms can also be caused by other problems such as infections of the vagina or vulva. Only your physician can make the distinction and make a correct diagnosis.
How is Diagnosis of UTI Made?
The number of bacteria and white blood cells in a urine sample is the basis for diagnosing urinary tract infections. Urine is examined under a microscope and cultured in a substance that promotes the growth of bacteria. A pelvic exam may also be necessary.
Antibiotics are the usual treatment for bladder infections and other urinary tract infections. Seven to ten days of antibiotics is usually required although some infections may require only a single dose of antibiotics.
It's important that all antibiotics are taken as prescribed and not discontinued before the full treatment is complete. Symptoms may disappear soon after beginning antibiotics but if the antibiotics are quit early the infection may still be present and recur.
Another urine test may be ordered about a week after completing treatment to be sure the infection is cured.
hope this helped hun!

every now and then, I get these truly awful headaches that dont go away for a few days. Theyre really annoying becuase they interrupt my whole life...I cant do anything becuase even the slightest noise makes my head pound and bright lights make my eyes sting. Could it have anything to do with the computer? and is there anything I could do (besides aspirin or any medication) to make them stop happening or make them less intense? thanks so much ♥
This is called a migraine. I also get them from time to time. Many people do. Definately go to the doctors and get medication for when this happens. Try using tylonal such as "Exedrin" first.

I want to start using tampons but I know my mom hates them because she just read something about a 14 year old getting that toxic shock syndrom from them. I'm active (like sports) and I'm really getting sick of using pads. I just don't know how to tell her I want to start using them because I'd get a bad reaction plus she's never used them and it'd be awkward asking her. HELP
ok, toxic shock syndrome or TSS, is a rare disease that may occur when a tampon is left in for more than 8 hours. As long as you change your tampon every few hours, you should be fine. Over half the world's population of girls use them. In every box of tampons, there is a little pamphlet inside the box along with the tampons that explains it all and yes, just like eveything else in the world, there are risks to using tampons, and pads ARE the safest thing to use during your period. Tampons are cleaner though, and don't make such a mess. Here is some info. I found information on the internet on tampons that maybe you can show your mom, but remember, every girl chooses something different. What your mom may prefer(pads), as my mom does too, other females, such as me and you, may choose tampons. It all depends on what is most comfortable to the girl herself.

This morning, I woke up and I noticed there was a tiny white dot/ball on my upper eyelid. It kind of hurts when I move my eye. Does anyone know what it is and how it got there? How do I get rid of it?
it is most likely a "sty"...go to the doctors and he will give you medicine for it. my little sister had 9 on her eyes once !! she had to get surgery because she waited too long to go to the doctors, so make sure to go!

hi, i'm new to this subject, how often do you recommend changing a tampon? and is it okay for ppl who just got their 'aunt flow' visit for the first time recently to wear them? thanks
definately by 8 hours. thats the maximum time someone should wear one for. in every tampon box that you buy, there will be a little packet showing how to insert one, when to change it, and so on. and yes, its okay to wear it right when you first get your period. i recommend using ones at the lowest absorbancy you can to prevent TSS, which is also in the packet. take care and get back to me with anything you may need. id be glad to help.

My friend was around marajuana over the weekend, i'm not sure weather or not she smoked, but she could have. Then she got sick and her mom took her to the doctor, where she had a blood test done to see weather or not she had mono. Should she be worried about the marajuana showing up on the test? do you think that the doctor will notice if it does? Please help!
:)annie
no it will not show up because that is a different type of test. this is a blood test looking specifically for mono. even if marijuana does show up, it doesnt matter because that is not what is being looked for, but i can guarentee you that it will not show up because it is a totally different type of test that your friend is taking. i had the same problem before so i kno what im talking about.
1. I was wondering if it was normal for a 15 year old(3 months away form being 16) not to have her period?
2. Is it possible for someone not to get their period at all in a a lifetime?
yes it is normal....for right now. if you dont get your first period by the time you're 16, definately see a doctor. and if you dont get your period in your whole life, that means you have a problem and you can not have children. look up into it. its a good thing to know about, especially being a woman.
For the past week my hands have just been ice cold. My guess it is do to poor circulation. I work on a computer all day, so it is not like I am not moving them. Does anyone have any ideas what causes this, and what I can do about it? It is very uncomfortable.
You should definately go see a doctor because most of us wouldn't be able to tell you what it is..and if I guessed and told you my opinion, it may not be correct..and then you may not go to the doctor b/c you are thinking it is what one of us said..and it could get worse. So, please go see a doctor, just to be sure everything is okay.
Im 15/f I always feel like I cant breathe deeply enough. I feel like every 5 minutes I am sitting there trying to yawn but I can never get myself to yawn deeply enough and it takes me like 5-10 mins just go get one yawn out. And I probably look pretty stupid too like sitting there in class yawning all the time. I know i dont get enough sleep, but even on the weekends when i get like 11 hours i still have trouble breathing deeply/yawning. It might be stress related too..but i think ive had this problem since i was little. Is this normal? ANy ideas on how to help? thx
the best advice i can have is to go to the doctor. i have problems breathing as well, but i smoke cigarettes. You could have asthma, so make sure to see a doctor about this. it could get worse as you get older, so you'll wanna know exactly what it is.
good luck hunnie .. get back to me if you wanna talk..take care
