For the past week my hands have just been ice cold. My guess it is do to poor circulation. I work on a computer all day, so it is not like I am not moving them. Does anyone have any ideas what causes this, and what I can do about it? It is very uncomfortable.

CONGRATULATIONS YOU WON'T DIE OF A HEART ATTACK OR ANYTHING TO DO WITH BLOOD PRESSURE COS YOURS IS LOW
you can die of anything else thou.
It is to do with your circulation and ask your parents or relatives if they have the same thing. I do and so does my mother and her Irish relations. Maybe every so often you should just go for a brisk walk to take a break from the computor to get that blood pumping through you.
Two ways you can fix it- salt which jacks up your blood pressure, but too much is bad for you and exercise. I'd go with the exercise

Hope i helped! [ hockeygurl632's advice column | Ask hockeygurl632 A Question ]

beauteful_withn answered Friday December 3 2004, 4:40 pm: My hands are the same way, and so are my feet. do they turn red, or white or purple? if so, you might have a condition called Rinauds syndrom ( dont know the exact spelling) its is brought on by poor circulation and even though you are moving them while typing- i notice that mine get worse when i do type. the only thing that you really can do, is wear gloves or stuff to keep them warm. after away you just get use to it. i hope that that might have helps a little. good luck and take care. russianspy1234 answered Friday December 3 2004, 2:22 pm: if you smoke that cuts the circulation in your hands and feet off. beyond that i suggest washing your hands with hot watter instead of warm. it might be the weather my hands have been kind of cold lately too. xlostangelx answered Friday December 3 2004, 11:51 am: You should definately go see a doctor because most of us wouldn't be able to tell you what it is..and if I guessed and told you my opinion, it may not be correct..and then you may not go to the doctor b/c you are thinking it is what one of us said..and it could get worse. So, please go see a doctor, just to be sure everything is okay. [ xlostangelx's advice column | Ask xlostangelx A Question ]
zapreth answered Friday December 3 2004, 11:22 am: It's most likely a sign of carpal tunnel. Go to a neurologist. I'm an analyst and crunch numbers all day on a computer. I have it and when I wear my splints I can feel the circulation in my hands improve instantly. It's all about the proper positioning of the wrist. You'll be surprised at the improvement. I rarely need my splints anymore, and I've never had to miss work for the condition. Get it looked at before it can cause permanent damage or disability. Good Luck!
