Hey Everyone :) I'm Kate and a level 2 mod on here. I've had this account since July 2004, so I've been on here since I was 13! Wow ... crazy for me to think how long ago that was. I will admit I don't check in as often as I once did, but being away at college, being in a sorority, and having a job when I'm not at school is very time consuming. I still try to help out as much as possible, and if you send me a question I WILL answer it. This site helped me a LOT when I was in high school and had a lot of questions, and I'm here to help anyone who needs it :) Feel free to write in my forum or send me a question any time!

My question is I have known this guy for almost fifteen years. We have known each other since the third grade and the whole time I have known him I have liked him more then just a friend. We used to be good friends but in eighth grade he asked me if I wanted to have sex with him and when he asked me I didn't say anything. But after that day we weren't good of friends like we were before because I didn't know how to act around him. But in high school I noticed that he still likes me because I use to catch him looking at me and smiling and sometimes we would smile when ever we looked at each other because we always had a class together through high school. When we graduated he wrote something really nice but the thing is I don't know if he is the type of guy to write the same thing in every girls yearbook or if he just did it in mine. But to this day I don't know if he wants to be more then friends or not. But I found out that he hoined the army and I am thinking of writing him a letter but I am not sure because we haven't keep in touch in almost four years so what should I do.

hey i have tan skin beach blonde hair thats 4 inches past my shoulders and green eyes. I'mgetting my hair done this weekend wut do u think i should do with lowlights or layers or wut?

I think layers would look cute. If they ask whether you want short layers or long layers, then say Long, because if you'd rather them be short you can always get that changed, but if you get short layers and don't like them u'd have to wait for them to grow.

yes it's true, but it isn't very healthy

It's actually a type of bulemia if you get addicted
Like throwing up is one type, and laxatives is another

Just like for aneorexia, not eating, or being severly underweight, So it is DEFINITLY NOT healthy

Just out of curiosity, what does "hooking up" mean to you? It seems to mean something different for everybody...

well, when you say it in a way, like lets hook up tonight, it pretty much to me means lets hang

But when a guy says you wanna hook up, you better make sure whether he means hang, or date
some guys mean date, and some mean hang

I guess it depends the way that they use it.

Okay I asked a question before about the pill and I was wondering something else....If I do decide to have sex w/out a condom, and get pregnant say five months later....if I keep taking the pill, will it kill the fetus before it gets into the really late stages of pregnancy? If anyone knows any websites with that information, i'd appreciate it a lot...i've searched and can't find anything....Thanks

Okay, this is the way that I'll give you my answer
This is how the pill works
The horomones prevent ovulation any way they can
and remeber 97-99%effective

1st the hormones will kill any sperm going to the egg, but in the off chance that they miss a sperm, they like kill it before it goes into the uterus

So most likely yes, but then there's about 1% chance of getting pregnant, so the next three days you could Emeregency Contraceptives Pills (ECP)... the morning after pill
It has more hormones, it's like birth control, but stronger. It's meant to take within 73 hours of having unprotected sex, so I'm not totally sure if you can still take it after having protected sex, so that might not work

Another thing you could use to help would be some type of spermacide(foams, jellies, suppositories, film)
It should be used with something else, like a condom or I guess pill
Ir's inserted into the vagina to kill sperm, has to stay in for 6-8 hours after sex
the I you take it out. or rinse, idk take it out the same way you put it in I guess.

Just remember, that with condoms there is a chance that they can rip or get a hole in them so be careful.

I think it's good that you're practicing safe sex!!

OK guys.. A really cute guy likes me and invited me to go to his football game tomorrow since he's one of the starting players. I know to cheer for the team and when he does good, etc.. But I dunno if I'd be able to see him after the game. I want to see him but I don't want to wait around for him if he only wanted me to be there for support. So should I wait for him or just leave after the game ?

Well I have been quite puzzled about this lately....when you're taking the pill, do you have to use a condom to help prevent pregnancy? I don't need it for STD's b/c my bf and I don't have any nor have we been with any other people ever before. So any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

YOU SHOULD WAIT LONGER. IT SAYS WAIT ATLEAST A MONTH, BUT THE BEST AMOUNT TO BE TAKING THE PILL TO MAKE IT MORE EFFECTIVE IS TO WAIT ALMOST 3 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it will work, but it might not be as effective, probably only 90-95% effective!! good luck though, and thanks for the rating!!

ok, I'm taking a parent/child development class, and we just went over this, in my notes it says the pill is 97-99% effective is used the correct way, but condoms(male or female) are for male-88-98% effective, and for female 79-95% effective

so it'll be better to you'se the pill and condom, but since you're not worried about STD's, then you don't have to.
but if you want condoms they are free at the health department. We learned all this on Wednesday, so I've know a lot about 11 different types of birth control methods, and condoms and abstinence are the only 2 that help with STD's, so I have 8 or 9 methods that could help you, prolly 8 because I think one or 2 are for people who've already been pregnant.

they could be, but not neccisarily, they could like the color. If it's a girl then def. No, well maybe but most likely not. If it's a guy then it depends, I have lots of guy friends who do stuff like wear pink shirts, because they like the style, I am positive that they aren't gay, so to answer your question, maybe but probably not. Do they talk like they're gay (usually gay guys talk odd, it's harder to tell w/ lesbo's, but gay guy's sumtimes talk funny)

well, if you think causing pain will make you feel better, then you can wear a pony tail holder, or rubber band, or anything that snaps easily around your wrist. Then whenevery you want to feel pain, or hurt your wrist, SNAP IT! if the earge is really strong, snap it really hard, either that will be your new obsession, or you will stop cutting and snapping. Every morning at basketball practice, we run about 10 laps? (6 minutes) and today we did 22 laps in a college sized gym. Do you know the equivalent in miles to that? (6 and 22 laps)

well in my middle school gym (regular gym +aux gym, it was 1/12th of a mile, on the track it was 1/4th of a mile, A college sized gym is probably anywhere from 1/4th a mile to 1/2 a mile

Hi!!! I need your help, Im baby sitting this boy for almost a year now before her mom paying a fare salary but now I kinda don't like the way she pays me, I let her do that twice but now I don't think it's fare for me her mom paying me $5.00 for at least 4 hours, and I think that is so unfair. The boy is fine but he kinda eat a a lot so I need to fed him, because I dont want him to starve you know.
Im afraid at talkiing to people, because maybe she will get mad.

well, i'd get $20 for that amount, and i don't think it's fair (but I do 3 kids) maybe tell her you've changed your cost, to $2 per kid, and $4 per hour, that way for four hours, you'd get $18, that isn't bad, or maybe like $3 per hour per kid that'd be $15 an hour, and maybe to her more reasonable, i'd ask her to atleast make it $3 an hour. Be like mrs so n so, I'm sorry, you're a nice lady, and your son is wonderful, but I feel like I'm getting underpaid. Just remember, be polite, and she'll atleast budge a little bit

okay so recently ive been hanging out with some friends that i wouldnt normally hang out with them out of school or sports. They smoke pot and they talk about ti all the time. since ive been hanging out with them i have been wanting to smoke it but i know its not the right choice. What do you think i should do?

how krazi is this, I'm in the same EXACT situation. All of the people I've been hangin out with do pot, and Some of them are my age, and some are older. Now that I've been hangin out with them, I've also felt like trying it, yet I know it's the wrong thing to do. I'm a bit confused on the subject. One of my REALLY good friends, that always told them not to do it tried it, and she really likes it. It's confusing, because It's like we know that it's bad but we still want to do it. I know this isn't much help, but do you hang out with them because they're all you have, or because you want to? The reason I hang out with them, is because I have a crush on 2 of the guys, one of them has been my best friend since 5th grade, and they are all in my lunch period, and besides 2 juniors(i'm a freshman) they're the only people I know. But unless you pretty much have to hang out with them, just hang with them in school. Try a ciggerette first, you'll realize how hard it is to smoke it, and most likely won't. Drugs are bad, and illegal, thats what has kept me from it. I never know if they'll get caught, all i know is from a video they made, is that they get SO high, that they don't know what they're doing, so if you wanna do drugs, do the legal kind, like cigs.

is wakling just (or close) as good for you as running? like can i loose weight from walking 20 minutes a day or does it have to be running? thanks i rate!!

it's not better, but it's still good. I walk monday-Friday, usually I get home from school about 20 minutes before elementary school, so I bring all my stuff home, grab a water bottle, walk my neighborhood, and then go help my neightbors get their kids off the bus, and I know that I've lost weight, because I can see it in my face, so DEFINITLEY, walking is a wonderful way to lose weight!!!!!

well i had my period.. n they were like all the symptoms n everything so im sure i had it.. but ive missed my period date?? idk wats going on.. i tried to wait a few extra days but its been like 4-5 days n i sitll havent gotten it? its my 2nd time getting my period so i dunno is that normal? im not very close with my mom.. so i cant really talk to ehr about it.. i dunno what to do! helppp!! ((n i havent been having sex lol so it cant be that))

well since it's only your second time, then it's all good, for the first few times, maybe even the 1st year or so, it'll be abnormal
