Okay I asked a question before about the pill and I was wondering something else....If I do decide to have sex w/out a condom, and get pregnant say five months later....if I keep taking the pill, will it kill the fetus before it gets into the really late stages of pregnancy? If anyone knows any websites with that information, i'd appreciate it a lot...i've searched and can't find anything....Thanks
just watch your period and try to have sex either right after or right before it's scheduled. that's safest. i've had sex - well, more than a hundred times, beyond that i'm clueless as to precise figures - and my partner has used a condom perhaps 3 of those times, at most. condoms are smelly and annoying, and if given the choice, i would probably rather not have sex than use a condom. i am on the patch, and have never had any problems, even without any condoms.
i would recommend the patch before the pill. you only have to remember to change it once a week, and though it does leave little squares on your skin, similar to the ones band-aids do, it's easier to work with than the strictly-regimented pill. [ ppcrn's advice column | Ask ppcrn A Question ]

No, the pill does not kill the fetus and it won't 100% prevent yourself from getting pregnant either. My mom got pregnant with me when she was both on birth control and using a condom. My suggestion for you is not to have sex at all since clearly it's obvious that your not ready. If you do however, make sure your on birth control and use a condom. There's always a chance you could get pregnant. Make sure to take extra precautions.

ask_us answered Wednesday October 20 2004, 4:34 am: No the pill is designed to stop the release of the egg, taking the pill once pregnant will have no effect, at the extreme risk that it migt even harm the developing feotus. I am not sure of any particular sites but try a search engine or go to a local family planning clinic!!! [ ask_us's advice column | Ask ask_us A Question ]

If you have unprotected sex while you arent on the pill and then go on the pill, it will NOT kill the fetus (if in fact you are pregnant). The only way to terminate a pregnancy 5 months after the fact, is illegally have an abortion (it becomes illegal after 3 months) if u can find someone who will do it. Basically, if you are in this situation, tell ur parents because ur probably going to have to keep the baby at this point. if you have any more questions, drop one in my inbox.

S_C answered Saturday September 18 2004, 7:53 am: MOST OF THE STUFF I'M TELLING YOU I GOT STRAIGHT FROM MY NOTES, LIKE THE TEACHER GAVE US NOTES, AND SHE'D TELL US WHAT TO FILL IN, SO MY INFORMATION IS VERY VERY VERY ACCURATE
Okay, this is the way that I'll give you my answer
This is how the pill works
The horomones prevent ovulation any way they can
and remeber 97-99%effective
1st the hormones will kill any sperm going to the egg, but in the off chance that they miss a sperm, they like kill it before it goes into the uterus
So most likely yes, but then there's about 1% chance of getting pregnant, so the next three days you could Emeregency Contraceptives Pills (ECP)... the morning after pill
It has more hormones, it's like birth control, but stronger. It's meant to take within 73 hours of having unprotected sex, so I'm not totally sure if you can still take it after having protected sex, so that might not work
Another thing you could use to help would be some type of spermacide(foams, jellies, suppositories, film)
It should be used with something else, like a condom or I guess pill
Ir's inserted into the vagina to kill sperm, has to stay in for 6-8 hours after sex
the I you take it out. or rinse, idk take it out the same way you put it in I guess.
Just remember, that with condoms there is a chance that they can rip or get a hole in them so be careful.
DruidX answered Saturday September 18 2004, 6:00 am: If you are on the pill in the first place then there is a very small chance you'll even get pregant, but if you do, I don't belive the pill does kill the featus, you have to get some kind of 'day after' pill that has an abortive substance in it. You are best talking to your doctor or other heath care proffesional about this, as the web doesn't all way give accurate information. [ DruidX's advice column | Ask DruidX A Question ]
yumiko answered Friday September 17 2004, 8:05 pm: The pill is designed as a preventative measure, not as a form of abortion. AFAIK, such use can be very dangerous, causing an uncontrolled natural "abortion" called miscarriage. Women experiencing miscarriage have to be rushed to the hospital to prevent them dying along with the infant!

Similar makeshift abortions using over-the-counter, perscription, or illegal drugs, or something like a coathanger or throwing yourself down the stairs, are also not recommended.

If you're worried about the reliability of the pill, ask your doctor about various "double dutch" methods; see about getting on the Depo Provera shot, which is more reliable mainly due to the fact that it lasts for 3 months and you don't have to take it daily. Ask about getting a diaphragm, spermicidal gel, foam, anything -- these, coupled with hormonal pills or shots, will double your protection against pregnancy without use of a condom.

And ask your doctor about actual controlled abortions. Find out if, in your area, you need parental permission to get one if necessary. Ask your doctor if and how the morning-after pill could be included in your safe-sex regimen.

Just don't do anything not recommended by your doctor; not only could it endanger your own life, but it could cause you an even more difficult time explaining to your loved ones from your hospital bed! [ yumiko's advice column | Ask yumiko A Question ]
LilMia811 answered Friday September 17 2004, 7:50 pm: If you take birth control while you are pregnant, it can damage the fetus, but it can also dmage your insides as well. It can even mke it so you will never be able to have children. if you were thinking of this being an alternative to an abortion, its not a very good or safe idea. Karen answered Friday September 17 2004, 7:42 pm: Nope, it will not abort the fetus. The pill is supposed to help not form the fetus. Hope I helped :) [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
MFS answered Friday September 17 2004, 7:39 pm: No. The pill is not abortive. It is designed to prevent conception form occuring in the first place, and since it IS possible to get pregnant on the pill, then it most certainly will NOT abort the fetus. [ MFS's advice column | Ask MFS A Question ]
