I'm Almedina. I'm foreign, and I'm pretty much ready to handle whatever life throws at me. Ha, pretty random that I go from being foreign to life,but anyways. I've had this column for about two yearsnow, and I don't update it as I should, or want to but with school and this crazy teenage life of mine, it gets pretty hard to do so. I've been giving advice to all my friends since I can remember and I love trying to help them. I'm out going and extrememly loud once you get to know me. I'm usually shy at first unless I've gotten to know you. I don't understand life sometimes. But I've got my whole life to figure out the meaning of it. I'm selfish at times, and stubborn. I care too much about things I shouldn't and not enough about the MOST important things in my life. I'm very annoyed with people at times, and tend to just block everyone out. I'm afraid to say I'm in love, but I'm not afraid of love itself. I'm myself and that's all I can be. I've gone through a lot, so I'm willing to help in whatever way I can (:

My boyfriend and I have been dating for about 2 years now. His father was diagnosed with cancer back in May and when the finally did catch it, it was too advanced.

Today they officially gave him 6 months to live.

My boyfriend was all out crying when he told me. I've known him since we were 12 (we're both 18 now) and I've never seen him cry.

His brother committed suicide in October and even then I saw no tears.

I don't know what to do here. I don't know what to say and I don't know how to act. You'd think that after I've known him and his family so long that I would. But I don't. Not even after his brother.

Well you never really asked what your question was but I`m assuming it`s what you could do to cheer up your boyfriend. Basically the only thing that will help him is you being there for him. That`s all that he needs right now. Someone who will listen to him, help him out occasionally, and give him some advice. He just needs someone where he can cry his eyes out and know that they are there because they care for him. He`s in a really bad time right now so doing anything sweet will really brighten up his day. I hope he and his family do ok. I know you`ll do the right thing. I hope his dad survives this.

i recently went to the optometrist and he said i should wear my contacts less but i hate wearing my glasses as they make me really self comsious. if my eyes are getting worse what makes a difference if they get worse a bit faster? why are glasses better than contacts except for infections?

Glasses are better than contacts for a lot of different reasons. Contacts tend to erritate your eyes while glasses don`t. Contacts can also rip, come out, and do a lot of other things to your eyes. Glasses you can never forget to take out because well it`s common sense while with contacts you can forget to take them out and then you could have to get surgeory. My friend forgot to take her contacts out once and they really bothered her eye and they were getting really red and stuff, and the doctor found out she had a bad infection because of the contacts so she had to get surgeory done. Sometimes glasses are better for the best of it. As for you being self concious about your glasses. Ask you mom if you can get a new pair that will make you feel better about yourself.

Very confusing ! At first I thought you were a guy. Sorry =( but uhm the only thing you can do is if you want to meet the team then you just need to have a little bravery and belief in yourself and you`ll do fine. Tell both of your friends that you want to meet them but you`re a little shy and maybe they can help you be a little more comfortable. You`ll do fine and don`t worry you are not ugly. Ok, wow I never thought you felt this way darling, but don`t worry you`re not alone. I feel exactly the same way. Sometimes telling someone they are pretty just isn`t enough and you are right baout that. You can`t make yourself believe something you know isn`t true. I mean I go throught this everyday maybe but sometimes I just don`t think about it because the friends that I have ovibously wouldn`t be friends with me if they didn`t like me for me. Since I am planning on going a diet as well we can keep each other motivated because I know I want you to be happy. See people ask me all the time how can you stand there being sad but making sure your friends are happy? Well I want to see myself happy and everything but I guess to me I`d rather see their happiness. In the end I know it`ll come back to me and I`ll be happy too. I think that going on a healthy diet would make us both feel better. I`m glad I have a wonderful and truly gorgeous friend like you !!

okay well i straighten my hair everyday and it has really taken its tool on my bangs even though i use a ceramic straighter. my hair straigher said im just pulling on them too much(they are thin) when i straighten them. ive tried trimming them to get rid of the really fried ends but it seems like they never go away. like right after i trim them they look fried again

they look fine after i straighten them but within a few min then flick out and thats when they look really bad

i dont want to keep trimming them because i know they are just going to get shorter, not better

is there anything i can try on them to make them not look as fried that isnt more than $10

( i dont care if it will kill my hair more as long as it makes it look better)

When you straightner your hair try to buy something that won`t fry your hair. This product named "Ion" is good. Just go to the beauty supply store and ask the lady there what would be good to help your hair and to make it look healthier.

my boyfriend..he used to like me a lot more in the start of our relationship [almost a month ago] and he doesnt like me that much anymore. he still likes me i know because he snuggles and talks and flirts with me and he said he didnt want to brake up [long story short-he broke up with me, we talked for like 2 seconds and he said nevermind]. so obviously he still does but in the beginning he would call me and id be like talking and he would just say 'i love you' out of nowhere nd start screaming it into the fone [lol] and he would say all this cute stuff nd everything and now he doesnt anymore

It doesn`t matter who likes you more it should be mutal. Talk to him ask him why he`s changed and see what it says. Maybe you guys just aren`t ment for each other you know ? I mean I`m not trying to sound mean when I say that but maybe it`s not ment to be. If you keep worrying about him breaking up with you then that`s not good. Talk to him and try to make a conclusion together and see what happens.

Sweetheart you can`t live on your own at the age of 14 or 15. You have to be 18 to live on your own and if that. It all depends where you live. You could run away and go to a foster place, but the best place to live is with your family.

Well you could do one of two different things. One is to just completely stop fingering her since you have a fear she`ll freak out. I just had sex for my first time 2 nights ago. I'd like to get checked by the doctor for any diseases. Is it possible for me to ask a doctor and get a test done without my parents knowing anything? Including the results. Even if the results came out positive, I want it to be kept secret. Do you know if doctors tell parents this kind of information?

I think that since you are a little underage that the doctor might have to tell your parents about the results and stuff. You could talk to your doctor about this and see what he or she and you and work out. But I can almost guarentee [sp] that the doctor would have to talk to your parents.

i'm 18 and my ex-boyfriend, who's 19, just came home from the marines. it turns out some of his mail didn't get sent and he had said he wanted to get back together in like the first letter. i don't know what to do because after a summer of being depressed, when i started school, i met someone else and he's well, amazing. it's just that my ex-boyfriend and i were going out for almost 3 years and i still love him but he's just going to leave for the marines again soon. i'm so confused about what to do bc the new guy is so sweet, caring, and understanding, but my ex is just amazing and i know i still love him.

I can`t really tell you what you should do because it is only your decision at this point. The thing that might be the best thing to do is stay good friends with your ex-boyfriend and stay with your current boyfriend becuase when your ex leaves again, you`ll probably go through a hard time for the second time. While if you just stay friends you won`t be going through any hardships. You have ovibously moved on and found an amazing boyfriend so I don`t think you should risk all that and have to go through another heartbreak. Good luck though, babe.

Well I know that Christmas is over but, tomorrow/today (it's 1:30) we are going to my aunts house to open more presents. So my brother was supposed to buy for a 9 year old. So he has to buy something for a 9 year old that will be okay for him. We know he want's an XBoX game, but what might be something else my brother could buy for him? If it helps, my brother can drive, and has money.

He could buy him things he`s insterested in, like movies, toys, etc. I would not suggestion buying him clothes unless you are certain that he`ll like it. You could just give him a gift card to like Toys R' Us, or Build A Bear Workshop (he might not want this one, lol.) Giving him a gift card to Toys R' Us is probably the best thing. Good luck.

I'm getting to the point where I can't stand to be around my boyfriend. He is really frustrating me. I don't really consider myself unreasonable and I feel really guilty about all this. He's constantly analyzing every aspect of our relationship on whether it's considered "sinful" or not. He even went on about kissing and how it must be considered 'selfish' to a persons own desires. He reads all these sexual purity books and gets his morality and philosophy from them. He is really stiff and concerned about purity.. I know most girls would love a guy who isn't sex obsessed, but sometimes I think it'd be better if he was. I feel I'm not worthy when I'm around him. I always feel like shit when he preaches about morals and stuff. what should I do? is it stupid to care about this? i feel like i'm making a big deal and should just accept it and move on.

Well see since you haven`t exactly talked to him about he might think you like hearing all this. Talk to him and tell him that he`s acting a little strange and that you would for him to stop. If it doesn`t work out then just give him up. I know that`s tough but it might be the best thing. Good luck
