okay well i straighten my hair everyday and it has really taken its tool on my bangs even though i use a ceramic straighter. my hair straigher said im just pulling on them too much(they are thin) when i straighten them. ive tried trimming them to get rid of the really fried ends but it seems like they never go away. like right after i trim them they look fried again
they look fine after i straighten them but within a few min then flick out and thats when they look really bad
i dont want to keep trimming them because i know they are just going to get shorter, not better
is there anything i can try on them to make them not look as fried that isnt more than $10
( i dont care if it will kill my hair more as long as it makes it look better)
There are treatments you can use every so often like the hot oil one someone mentioned, i use that, it's amazing.
There's also loads of products for people with this problem if you go to your drugstore and ask for these type of products that protect your hair from the damages of using straighters you should find something. [ xfashionesque's advice column | Ask xfashionesque A Question ]
hyperhottiegirl answered Wednesday January 4 2006, 2:34 pm: first of all STOP straightening them buy a blow dryer www.thehairstyler.com Also go to your nearest grocery/drug store and buy a deep conditioner like nutrogena that last 3-5 min in the shower it really works and try that once a week. also try getting *i forget what its called* its like this spray stuff in your hair before straightening and it "supposively" works so your hair isnt messed up from straightening this ask your hair cut person about it. hope i helped! rate me if ya wanna! cokecap_x21 answered Tuesday January 3 2006, 6:56 pm: if you read the magazine seventeen (17),the resent issure (it has the winner of the 17 show on the cover, she has braces) its going to tell you how stars make their hair healthy. But if you cant find 17 any where, oil treatments and also leave in conditioners will be good for this problem. You could go to a salon and ask about it,they would know more than most people on here.Did you no that you could get a reverse perm (so instead of curly hair, they straiten it...it lasts for a loonngg time to because of the chemicals. That might be too pricey though :(,also fruitics has a line for hair like yours.put down the straitener, and find some really awesome ways to style your hair! or maybe your straitener is getting old,so trry buying a new one
good luck!

betterthanyou_X3 answered Tuesday January 3 2006, 6:26 pm: No matter what kind of straightener you use, over time, it WILL hurt your hair. ANY kind. When you first start using it, it seems that it's helping (which it might be)but over time it'll make your hair too brittle and thats why it breaks. Even with a ceramic one or those Ion one (btw those don't work that great-CHI's still work better than them and they're the same price)
Anyway, to your question:
I have that problem too. My mom told me to just stop straightening my bangs but I decided that wasn't going to work for me because it's looks bad. What you can do is right before you straighten it put in some kind of serum. It doesn't matter what kind, you just need some moisture. It'll make them look and feel less fried and healthier. Also, after you straighten, spray on some hair spray. It'll keep the hairs from coming up and it'll keep your bangs in place.
You can find some cheep serum at Wal-Mart. You don't need that fancy John Freda stuff or anything. And hair spray is also relatively inexpensive.

Just go to the beauty supply store and ask the lady there what would be good to help your hair and to make it look healthier. [ xOalmaOx's advice column | Ask xOalmaOx A Question ]
