Bf's dad only has 6 months..
My boyfriend and I have been dating for about 2 years now. His father was diagnosed with cancer back in May and when the finally did catch it, it was too advanced.
Today they officially gave him 6 months to live.
My boyfriend was all out crying when he told me. I've known him since we were 12 (we're both 18 now) and I've never seen him cry.
His brother committed suicide in October and even then I saw no tears.
I don't know what to do here. I don't know what to say and I don't know how to act. You'd think that after I've known him and his family so long that I would. But I don't. Not even after his brother.

It's probably really hard on him. The only thing you can do is be there for him.. to listen when he needs someone to talk to and anything else.

Ah wow.This is a hard & sad situatuion.Having a brother then a dad both pass away is really hard esp. on a guy too because they prob. were pretty close.To be honest I don't think you can really do or say anything to him.It will just takes time.Just let him know that no matter what you'll always be there for him and if he needs someone to talk to that your there no matter what time of day it is.♥

It doesnt matter how long you've known a person, you never know exactly the right words to say.
Maybe he started crying beacause having your brother commite suicide and then your father dying in 6 months,struck his heart, and got to way to much. I cant imagine it happening to me.
Theres nothing much you can say to him, but always try to be there for him. Im not even sure what to tell you do say or do, beacause its that hard. But you have to be there for him, and know that its tuff, having your brother gone and soon your dad. I think he didnt show you his tears when his brother died, but i bet he cried atleast a little. Just be there for him, i bet that be enough confort, and let him know you wont leave him.

Hi. This is an awful situation. If it's any consolation to your boyfriend, doctors can only estimate, and often they are wrong. They gave my grandfather 6 months and he lasted 2 years. Tell him that there's no way to know this, and doctors can sometimes be suprised by a patients recovery.
Right now, though, all you can do is be there for him. Try and get his mind off things. Spend as much time with him as you can, take him to a funny movie, have him over and cook him dinner, etc. Make him a CD with his favourite songs to listen to when he's down. Just anything to let him know you care. Encourage him to talk about his feelings rather than bottling them up, as that will only make him feel worse. Always be ready to listen to him.. don't feel you have to "say anything" to comfort him. Listening is enough. If you two are the type, a lot of hugs and kisses will help too. Anything to let him know you care.

What I would do is first listen to the person until they have nothing else to say to you, and then gradually stear the conversation to a really good time you had with him. Try to make it a funny time, and make him laugh. I think that he should enjoy the time he has with his father instead of being sad about it. I know that's really hard to do but if you two are best friends, it shouldn't be too hard to cheer him up.

With a situation like this, there is no sure answer on what to do. He's hurting a lot right now, and you know it too. The best thing you can do is be there for him and let him know you care by your words and being his shoulder to cry on. Just be his support right now because he needs you more than ever.

you cant do anything to make his dad better or make him feel good. just let him know that you are always gonna be there for him and you will help him through this and you love him and youll do anything he wants. make sure that he knows that you are there for him.

You can only do so much, you cant make anything all right again and you cant make everything go away, but you can help him get through bad times. Always be there for him and when he needs to shed some tears, let him and make sure he knows u want to help. And show sympethy. If he feels you don't care, it wont be good. Dont do anything that can easily hurt him at these sensitive times. Just love him and be there.

Well you never really asked what your question was but I`m assuming it`s what you could do to cheer up your boyfriend. Basically the only thing that will help him is you being there for him. That`s all that he needs right now. Someone who will listen to him, help him out occasionally, and give him some advice. He just needs someone where he can cry his eyes out and know that they are there because they care for him. He`s in a really bad time right now so doing anything sweet will really brighten up his day. I hope he and his family do ok. I know you`ll do the right thing. I hope his dad survives this.

just make sure to be there for him, thats all you can do. dont push him about asking if you can help, because that gets annoying.
