i was just wondering how old do u have to be to be able tolike get your own apartment? because i dont wanna live at home anymore and like could i go on welfare or something??

Basically: you've got to be 18 to move out on your own because it's when you turn 18 that you're no longer a "dependent" of your parents/legal guardians. Until that time, they're required by law to take care of you.
And yeah: there are exceptions to that rule, but most of the exceptions are legal nightmares.
Living in an apaprtment involves a lot of responsibilities you've probably never had to deal with before, so you might not even be able to think of them. I know I didn't. When I moved into an apartment with friends for the first time there were so many bills I'd never even thought of. Even living in the dorms was a huge step beyond what it was like living at home whre I didn't have to pay for anything.
If I were you, I'd talk to someone I know who's lived on their own for a while (an older cousin, someone from the college age group at your church, etc.) to get some advice on apartment living in your area.
As for welfare(!!): unemployment checks are only sent to people who have worked long enough to pay into the system (the checks come out of taxes you've paid) but are currently out of work. You must prove to the government that you're actively seeking employment by giving them contact info for two potential employers every week. And the checks don't last forever. They're usually not that big and they last a few months at most.
Besides: making other people pay for you to live the way you want is what you're doing right now living with your parents and you don't like it, right?
Finish high school, go to college/ jr. college/ vocational school, move into the dorms or an off campus apartment with some friends who have jobs and will be good for making rent payments on time (and pay them the same favor!), and see what you think then. 'Cause once you move out: you'll never be able to move back in and have it be the same way ever again! Which might sound fantastic now, but you'd be surprised at the weird things you'll miss when you leave home... ;)

You need to be old enough to get a REAL job, no baby sitting is not a real job. So that be 16.

18 because that is when you are offically an adult. Your parents lose the responsibilty for you and cant tell you what to do anymore. But remember it would be REALLY expensive for you to live in an apartment so maybe you would want to have a room mate to split the rent with, like a bestfriend or something. Trust me, dont think you can pay for it yourself plus food, plus clothes, etc. Good luck!

im not sure if you can do this in the U.S. but in canada you can move out and live on your own if you have papers from court saying that you can, and you like go on welfare and they pay for you in the apartment. why would you want to move out anyways? you should really wait until your 18 and i know like everyone else has said this to you and you really dont want to hear it again but its the right thing to do so you can support yourself. and depending on why you want to move out of your appartment like if a parent is abusing you thats a totally different story so then deffinetly go to court. hope i helped- - <3 michelle

i have great news for you can when you are 16 if your grades are up and get yourself a lawyer and prove to the court that you are old enough and mature enough to live on your own. otherwise you got to wate just like the rest of us until you are 18 which sucks.

Scince your 14 I would say you have about 4 more years to go to be able to live by yourself. I think when your around 18 you become an adult ofically and you can do more mature stuff. Still wait till your 18 and then think it through you mite not even want to move out of your parents home.

you have to be 18 to get all that stuff unless i think if you a child or if you married or if social services thinks you deserve one. and besides welfare would barely pay for your rent. what about school? food?clothes?furniture?

Sweetheart you can`t live on your own at the age of 14 or 15. You have to be 18 to live on your own and if that. It all depends where you live. You could run away and go to a foster place, but the best place to live is with your family.
