Hey Everyone :) I'm Kate and a level 2 mod on here. I've had this account since July 2004, so I've been on here since I was 13! Wow ... crazy for me to think how long ago that was. I will admit I don't check in as often as I once did, but being away at college, being in a sorority, and having a job when I'm not at school is very time consuming. I still try to help out as much as possible, and if you send me a question I WILL answer it. I started my period about 9 months ago and I know that it takes about a year or 2 to get into an exact cycle..but how do you know when you're gonna have your period..because I don't wanna have a leak at school or something and not know about it until I get home! Please help!

it won't be regular, so you can't know for sure. Buy pantyliners, and wear them everyday, and make sure you have a pad or tampon whichever you use, in your bookbag or purse. That way you are ALWAYS prepared. You could always be extra careful, around every 3-5 weeks.

Hey! Ok, well, i really feel like i need a boyfriend, im 13/f my b-day is in like 2 weeks, but all the guys i know are just friends. I just moved to this school that i am at like 7 weeks ago (I know it seems like a long time, but it really isn't) so I don't know very many people. I don't know how to get guys to notice me as more of a friend, I have blonde hair, hazel-green eyes, and I'm, well let's just say people ask me if I am anorexic (I'm not) so obviously I'm skinny. If you could tell me how to get guys to like me as more than a good friend, that would be wonderful!

firts, you sound pretty, so try to hang out with girls who have the same personality, as you. Then if you have a sibling with guy friends, or in one of your classes if there is a guy, flirt. Usually if there is a project in class, and you get partenerd with a guy that you might like, then flirt. Thats what I'm doing right now, I'm in a group of a bunch of girls and one guy, and all of us girls flirt with the guy. Even if your just messing around, it's fun. But don't do something you'll regret, don't seem easy. I came off as easy the other day, and now about half of the school knows, so make sure whatever guy you find is a trustworthy guy. It takes time. You don't need a boyfriend. And hey, isn't it cool, were both 13/f, with a birthday soon, mine is Nov. 7th! Hope this helped some, it's early, and I'm rushing for school, so this is all I could come up with.

Congrats on the game, I'm impressed. Well anywho, you want to definitley wrap it up in ice. Then when you're parents get home, if they aren't already home, ask them what you can do about it.

ok i'am 13 and i wear a 38d bra . they have been this way since like ever and i grow out of my shrits in three months evey time i buy them .and my boobs keep on geting bigger and bigger how can i make my cloths fit better and i all ready wear an extra large in shrits because of my chest.please help i rate really good.

Well, all you can do about it now, is excersise, it'll help them shrink some. Trust me, my friends mom is a trainer type person, she used to have a C, and now WITH implance, she has an A 34. She works out everyday.
I'd suggest breast reduction, but even with parental permisson, you have to be 16-18, because until then, you could still be growing. (atleast those are the rules in NC)

Also, if it hurts your back like it hurt my friend's back, so she takes back medicine, and next year for her 17th birthday, she's getting a reduction.
I know this isn't much help, but thats all I could come up with.

14/f. I have a friend, Monica, who has really become somewhat of a whore in my opinion. She was going out with this one guy, Mike, and went to homecoming with him. Then a few days ago when we took a field trip she got all cuddly and mushy and kissy (I assume) with Jake. She hasn't told me that her and Mike have broken up and it doesn't seem like they have, but at the same time she is walking down the hall holding hands and with her arms around Jake. They have only been like this for about 3 days! I think she is cheating, but when I asked what happened to Mike, she just said "Geez we're not married!" What should I do? She never used to be like this and I never would have thought she would do anything like this.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but your friend is not a whore, and you aren't a very good friend for calling her one. She's right, they aren't married, and she's only 14, she's aloud to date around. How do you know that she isn't casually dating. And you are jumping to conclusions, I mean, I'm not saying that you're wrong, but I have a boyfriend, and I hold hands with other guys, I walk down the hall talking to other guys, and I'm a huge flirt, I mean for some girls it's natural. Whenever I start talking to a guy I flirt. It doesn't make her a whore. A whore is a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE thing to call somebody, and she's young, you're young, they aren't married, and unless they've been together for like 3-6 months, or more, then they aren't a serious couple. So just leave her alone for a while. She's experimenting different things.
I know this isn't what you want to hear, but I'm not here to tell you what you want to hear, I'm hear to give you a reality check. So sorry if I sound inconsiderate or rude, but thats how it is. She's growing up, meeting new guys, and experiencing new things, and you need to face it. I'm telling you what I would tell any of my friends if they called me a whore because they think I'm cheating, or doing what you have mentioned. It's not a bad thing. You shouldn't do anything, if it really bothers you, don't be friends with her. Maybe if you had a boyfriend, and found somebody else you thought you liked, you would understand, but obviously you aren't in that position, so you have no idea whats going on. If you have feelings for both men and woman. It's nothing to be ashamed of. A lot of people are bisexual. Actually almost eveybody has had feelings for somebody of the same sex. But bisexual is when you would have sex with somebody of the same sex, where you would date somebody of the same sex, and/or opposite. If he/she has developed a crush on both a boy and girl, and can't choose whether she'd rather be with a boy or girl, then he/she is bisexual.

You have to tell somebody. I cut, and I can't stop. It's gotten to the point where I'm bringing unsteralized needles to class, and drawing on my skin. Today I made a K on my arm (my name is kate) Two of my teachers found out, one took me out of class and started talking to me. I started cutting just small little things on my wrist, then today it was like wow! I mean I made really really long cuts, and they were bleading pretty bad. Cutting is a HARD HARD thing to stop. Tell a teacher or anybody. It needs to stop. I've tried to stop on my own, but it's too hard. And right now I'm getting help. Just tell somebody, and adult you can tell, tell.

I am a 14yr old boy who likes girls (typical). But just over the summer i knew i was bi. right now in october i still like other
boys and i have a crush on one too! however i still like girls as in
emotionally and socially, but i like boys for all 3 emotional, social, and sexually. i would still go with a girl, but i prefer a boy because it's something diffrent. i think i know i'm gay but i still need to know if i should just be completly gay and forget girls!?!

Whether or not you want to be completely gay is up to you. If we were to be using names, then I would say that you are bisexual, and that you can date whoever you please. If you want to date a man, date a man. If you want to date a woman, date a woman. I don't like to use the terms gay, straight, and bi, because it's just putting people in a category, and that is usually a bad thing for people put in the wrong category. Date whoever you feel attracted to. To tell you the truth, I don't think anyone is ever completely gay, because, for one of the dictionary defintions, it says gay is happy, and it's impossible to be happy 24/7. And then for the term you mean, well still, even gay girls find guys attractive, and even gay guys find woman attractive, it's called hormones, and they never go away.

It's really up to you to decide your sexual relations, a bunch of strangers can help you figure out the answer, but not help you get the final answer, for you my friend, the final answer is what you feel in your heart. Good Luck with this.

Theatre classes in High school. Look in the classifieds in the Newspaper. Those were just some suggestions I got a few months ago when I asked. Try to find an agent or something. Maybe try out for a play that will be going on near you. Um, if there are any school plays, try out.

Dude, the 1st date would be the pity date, not the second one. I would like nothing better than to see the Grudge, and I'm a girl. Plus it's around Halloween time. And if it's scary, then you can comfort her, hold her hand, put your arm around her. The scarier the better, unless this girl is a cheerleading wimp. Not saying all cheerleaders are wimps, I know a pretty tough one, but you get what I'm saying. Like a legally blonde elle wannabe, cheerleader, stuckup preppy hollister girl. I think the 1st one would be a lot easier to dress up as. Also since it'll be a bit chilly out, the other 2 sounds as if you wouldn't be too warm in those costumes. Also you promised a friend so that would be the nice thing to do.

Buffy would be hard to dress up as unless you had a wooden stake and a cheerleading costume.

The 3rd one would be easy, like in a gymnastics uniform thingy, with the red white & blue. But most likely people wouldn't know that you are actually carly patterson.

i need to get a halloween costume for halloween but my mom wont buy one and she wont take me somewhere to buy one! i don't really want to make my own costume because nobody will help me and i can't do it by myself without it looking really bad! i don't know what to do!! White blouse, blue jeans with holes in them. Braceltes, as many as you have. Pink, blue, and green hair dye stuff.

Really all you would need to by is the hair stuff. Put your hair in a ponytail, spray part of it pink, part blue, part green. (unless you get other colors) Put on all the bracelets. Put on the jeans and the white blouse. You've just become a punk rocker.

Now tell your mom that you just need a few things, where like the totaly price is under $7, I would say under five, but it'll probably come out to 5 something, or 6 something.

i sing..and if u work ur voice alot..for example ima cheerleader and i yell alot..is that good or bad for ur voice power? does it make ur voice stronger or weaker?

It can hurt your voice. I was in chorus last year, and a friend of mine in that class was also a cheerleader. Every once in a while she wouldn't be allowed to sing in class so her voice would be better. It'll make it weaker, but thats why within 2 or 3 days before singing, you talk as less as possible.
