I started my period about 9 months ago and I know that it takes about a year or 2 to get into an exact cycle..but how do you know when you're gonna have your period..because I don't wanna have a leak at school or something and not know about it until I get home! Please help!
AnGeLtHuGsTa answered Thursday October 28 2004, 10:47 pm: There are a few things, like a few days before you get your period, your breasts get bigger, they usually are very sensitive so they hurt a bit, and of course CRAMPS!!! Since your just beginning having your period, I would suggest you carry around a pad or tampon in case since you don't know when your going to have your period just yet...~good luck~ [ AnGeLtHuGsTa's advice column | Ask AnGeLtHuGsTa A Question ]
MissEmmyBoo answered Thursday October 28 2004, 7:31 pm: Well usually you can feel it. But every month when you think you're near your period start wearing pads and stuff. And always hide some pads or tampons in your purse just in case! Hope I helped!!

ICE11BLUE answered Thursday October 28 2004, 7:30 pm: Keep a log. Write down the start date on your own private special piece of paper, and the end date. When your next period starts, count the number of days between and write that number. Then write the start and end date again and so on. You should start to see a pattern after some time. Usually it's around every 28 days which you probably already know. It should look like this:
ThReEdAySgRaCe_GuRl answered Thursday October 28 2004, 6:45 pm: well, u dont really know.... cuz it just comes when it wants to ! why do us women have to suffer! lol well, it doesnt matter tho, cuz when your gonna start your period, only a lil bit comes out and most of the time you can feel it come out! so, just carry a pad in your purse or something at all times! or ask to go to the bathroom or clinic, the nurse always have pads! charmed-cherry21 answered Thursday October 28 2004, 5:18 pm: I have been on mine for almost 2 years and I am not in an exact cycle yet. What I do is about the time that I usually get it I will wear pantiliners and take a pad/tampon with me to school in my backpack so that if I do start then all I have to do is ask to go to the bathroom and change it. But if you do leak then ask if you can call your mom to bring you clothes or go to your school clinic and pretend you are sick. ((lol)) or just tie a jacket around your waist if you leak.
MaxwellsSilverHammer answered Thursday October 28 2004, 5:13 pm: You know people, her problem is not knowing when she gets it, so marking it down on a calender won't help at all.
There's no way to tell right now, but there are some PMS-related symptoms that you may encounter. Some of them may be:
-Moodswings
-Bloating
-Decreased concentration
-Headache
-Breast tenderness
-Muscle pain or fatigue
-Having trouble sleeping
-Increased sex drive
-Food cravings
BashfulBowler answered Thursday October 28 2004, 5:02 pm: When you start your period, mark it down on a calander. You should get your period about the same time each month, but that varies with each person. So mark it down. Also you might get PMS before your period so that can warn you. Just make sure you always have a tampon or pad with you aroud the time you might start. [ BashfulBowler's advice column | Ask BashfulBowler A Question ]
frenchy answered Thursday October 28 2004, 5:01 pm: hey! makr it on your calendar, in the beginning it will really be random, so just go to the b-room once a day to check. otherwise, once it gets a little more regular, always carry a pad or tampon, whatever you use, with you. hope i helped! peace and love! babiigurl076 answered Thursday October 28 2004, 4:39 pm: It comes baout every 4 weeks, mark it on your calendar the day you get it& count 4 weeks from that day. Always keep *extras* on you just incase! You'll feel the pain before it comes..just as a warning! But if you're one of the lucky ones who don't get cramps, then just keep up with the calendar!;] Goodluck! [ babiigurl076's advice column | Ask babiigurl076 A Question ]
Sherry answered Thursday October 28 2004, 4:39 pm: Well the day you get it mark it on your calendar then count 28 days(which is 4 weeks, one month) and make sure you have pads or tampons around that day. And you will get a feeling like your going to start, and you might get cramps, or your boobs will start hurting. [ Sherry's advice column | Ask Sherry A Question ]
pRiiNcEsS_bRyT answered Thursday October 28 2004, 4:36 pm: well...i alwayz get rele bad cramps either a day before i get my period or an hour before i get my period....thats how i can tell but everyones different just carry a tampon or pad with u in yer purse just in case <3
S_C answered Thursday October 28 2004, 4:35 pm: it won't be regular, so you can't know for sure. Buy pantyliners, and wear them everyday, and make sure you have a pad or tampon whichever you use, in your bookbag or purse. That way you are ALWAYS prepared. You could always be extra careful, around every 3-5 weeks. [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]
x0x_surfergirl_x0x answered Thursday October 28 2004, 4:35 pm: Hey,
I have the same problem but my period is regular. But if I forgot my date I was expecting it, I look to see how much discharge I have. If you have a lot you might get it in the next few days. If you don't enjoy your freedom while you have it!! :)
