"Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all those who live without love" - Albus DumbledoreHi, I'm Laura. I'm a senior in college & I'm slowly deciding what I want to do with my life. I love Harry Potter, coffee, writing, and sleeping (amongst other things). I'll never claim to know everything, but I'm confident in my ability to help people with their problems. Feel free to send me an inbox question; I'll get back to you!
A few thoughts I've gathered from my teenage years (and being on this site for most of them!):
1. If you Google song lyrics, the song will come up 99% of the time.
2. Dress to fit your body type, and buy the size that fits. If you're a size 6, squeezing into a 4 won't make you look skinnier. It makes you look fat when you aren't.
3. You will never regret waiting to lose your virginity.
4. There is such a thing as a stupid question, but we're all allowed to ask them.
BU 2014 :)
wicked awesome conversations

every year my family goes on vacation somewhere. summer's coming up soon, but we still have no clue where to go.
what we're looking for-
not too hot, not too cold lol
beautiful scenery
fun things to do
not a really long flight and not having to get a passport.
i wanna either go to the carribean or florida, but they dont want to :\ where should we gooo!
I was just going to suggest Niagara Falls, Canada, but you need a passport for that. YOu should consider going there next year, though. It's great- it's a tourist attraction so it's mostly Americans, and the Canadians who DO live there are incredibly nice. The laws are different (you can sit at a bar no matter how young you are) and there's tons of museums - the Wax Museum and Ripley's Believe it or Not are two standouts.
As for within the United States, suggest Chicago (great shopping and scenery; but I don't know where you live so I dunno if that's a long flight) or Cleveland, Ohio (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cedar Point, and a ballpark whose name just slipped my mind. I think the Cleveland area would be more family-pleasing- music, baseball, AND an amusement park.
hope I helped, and have fun on your vacation!
Yesterday I got my top ear pierced and the piercer said to wash it, blah blah blah. But he said not to twist it because it's bad for the healing process. And people are telling me to twist it when I clean it to keep it clean.
I got the same spot on my other ear pierced last year, and when it was in it's healing process and I twisted it I nearly had to take it out because it got infected really badly. I thought it got pierced wrong but it could be from twisting
To twist or to not twist?
Twist them once a day. I'm pretty sure they say "no twisting" as in, twirling you earrings for an hour taking a math test. Because your ahnds aren't clean & could easily transfer an infection. Plus, if you don't twist them at ALL, your earrings heal around your ear & you'll never get them out.
Tonight I joined an online dating service and of the profiles was that this guys first passion is shopping and second is eating out. I told my mom that I do not want a guy who likes to eat. She said that he isnt saying that - he just likes the social end of dining out. And my mom could understand my feelings if the guy weighed 500 pounds but he is fit. MY QUESTION: DO YOU AGREE WITH HER THAT ALL HE LIKES IS THE SOCIAL END OF EATING OUT. (HE ALSO SAID HE LIKES THE FOLLOWING: In my free time, I enjoy: Hanging Out with Friends, Listening to/Playing Music, Shopping, Traveling/Weekend Trips/Adventure Travel I like to go to: Beach, Live Theater, Restaurants)
Well, you could always ask him yourself...
But if his only interest was in the food, he probably would have put "stuffing my face" as a passion. So yes, he probably refers the social end of it.
i was wondering how can i get my calves and thighs smaller and is there a way you can get your boobs smaller without plastic surgery? please help i cant stand them
Losing weight makes your boobs smaller. I think its every 15 lbs you lose a cup size, or something like that. Also, minimizer and sports bras help.
You are stuck in a room with no windows or doors. a solid room. Only things in this room is a mirror and a table. how do you escape?
You look in the mirror and see what you saw. Take the saw and cut the table in half; two halves make a (w)hole, so put the two pieces together and crawl out the hole.

seriously i hate them right now.
i mean they give me no privacy. they just go 2 my computer and search history. i think that is really disrespectfull. i mean i can't do that with them , so they shouldn't spy on me!
anyway the also looked at my myspace and i've got some pics on there. all of my friends do , but nooooo my parents don't allow me now. (they never new i had myspace so it's not like i broke a rule or something) i'm aloud 2 have myspace , but no pics. i think that's really stupid cuz i settet my myspace private anyways!
so how can i convince my parents 2 have pics on myspace?
AND what can i do about my parents reading everything-> like comments and stuff like that.
i am really disapointed in them! they always said they would never spy on me blablabla , but now they did!
They probably had a reason to look at your history. Ask them why they looked- maybe one of your friends did something wrong. If you don't have anything to hide, no big deal. Just live with them checking where you've been on the internet. DON'T clear the history- they'll be even more suspicious.
As for your myspace, make your default picture an icon. Or change your location to, say, Japan. That way, nobody could possibly find out where you live from your myspace OR what you look like. And always log out when you're done, so they won't be able to read your comments/messages. Them reading your email is the equivalent of someone reading their mail.
I used to be heavy but ive lost a good amount of weight over the last months & am know skinny. i let myself have a cheat meal every once in a while but mostly i like to eat healthy. i pack healthy lunches at school & during the week im good. its the weekends when i want to look hot & skinny but still look forward to meals. Im 13 so i dont chose or have much say in what my family does. We eat out most of the time & thats where i want to look forward to eating something good. I really like salads but i'm bored of my usual casear salad with chicken or shrimp or salmon. Is there anything else healthy i could order? sandwiches or something. please help ~EAS
As a general rule, anything grilled (as opposed to fried) is good. Like grilled chicken sandwich over fried chicken fingers, for example. A sandwich is good, especially with tomatoes, lettuce, onions, etc. Order it without mayo or condiments, and add them yourself if you really want them (you'll put less on and therefore, fewer calories).
I don't know what restaurants you go to, but there's a lot around where I live that will put pretty much ANYTHING you want on a garden salad - tuna fish, ham, any sub topping, etc. If you go to Subway, you can make any sub sandwich a salad. There's a lot of toppings, so they won't be boring either.
hope I helped, & congrats on losing weight! =]
HI! It's me Rachel again. Well I was just talking to Beagle boy. And um we were talking about games and he asked me like what kind of games I liked and I was like shooting games. And then he was like 'Oh what kind?' And I was like 'Medal of honor' And he said 'Woah I never thought you played moh' And I was like 'Oh really why not?' And he said 'I just didnt think you were that kind of person' I said 'Well what kind of a person do you think I am?' And he said 'Well i dont know you enough to (I forgot what he said haha my bad)[or he might have said ' I dont know that much about you to say what kind of a person you are] And yeah I was like 'Well At least your not the kind of person that judges a person by how they look' And he was like 'Yer' 'Im awesome like that' I was like Oh my gosh!! What do I put I cant put 'Oh yes you are!' I cant put 'I know' I was totally freaking out! And then I finally put 'really' 'thats awesome' 'haha' And then I forgot what happened from there. Oh wait I remember now! We kept talking about games! haha but yeah I dont know. We talked for a while then my dumb computer froze! I dont know if I should say hi to him on monday when I see him at school. I dont know why but I feel like he knows me a little better now. If thats even possible. I dont know I really wanted to say 'Then you should get to know me' But I dont know I was about to type it and then something stopped me! And about me saying hi to him on monday . . . What would he feel?
Thanks,
Rachel
I think saying hi to him on Monday is a great idea. It shouldn't be awkward; it shouldn't really be different at all! There's nothing wrong with him learning somehting unexpected about you. He probably loves games like that (I assume as such from his reaction) and is stoked that a girl he (possibly) likes is into the same thing.
So in conclusion, yes, say hi! And maybe ask if he wants to get together sometime to play =]
Red Robin- What would anyone suggest there to eat? I want something thats good but not too fattening. I looked at their menu online & nothing really stood out. Im not into their burgers or salads. Thanks!
Get the onion rings. They're fried, so they're probably not the greatest health food, but they're the absolute best onion rings, especially with the campfire sauce. And freckled lemonade to drink =]
who wins the next pussycat doll? asia or melissa r.!??!
Melissa R.
EDIT: I don't, I don;t have the faintest idea. How are we supposed to know BEFORE it happens?
who wins the next pussycat doll? asia or melissa r.!??!
Asia.
Does anyone know the code for putting a picture as a caption?
Thanks
Use TinyPic.com to host your images. The URL PhotoBucket gives is too long.

Ok, so, something happened to my portable DVD player, it fell like 7 inches off of my bed, and possibly hit something....now, the screen is just blue, and nothing comes up, and it doesnt make the weird werzy sound it makes when it gets ready to start the movie...whats going on with it? Thanks.
It sounds like it's broken.
Bring it in to wherever you bought it, and see if it's fixable. It may cost less to replace it than to repair it.
What are some good older songs that are good and make you want to dance.
i have my sharona, video killed the radio star, manic monday, i melt with you, etc. please name some others?
thanks.
Wake Me Up Before you Go-Go. - Wham!
Is there a way you can rmove blood or juice stains from soft white material clothing?
Color-safe bleach, Shout, and OxyClean. Not all at the same time though.
sorry i didn't really know what category to put this in, but i have these flats that i LOVE but i stupidly ran throgh a mucky puddle with them and they got all wet and muddy. like SOAKED. and this was last night, and they still are really wet. is there any way i can salvage them from being ruined? they're pretty muddy and grassy and wet so should i soak them, put them in the dryer, or what?
Wash them in warmish soapy water. Then blowdry them on a cool setting until theyre like, semi-dry. After that, just leave them somewhere dry and let them air-dry. I'm sure they'll be just fine. Putting them in the dryer could bang them out of shape, so only use that as a last resort.

Is there any texting plans that are for verizon wireless, under 20 dollars and would work for a three person plan. ( iwould be the only one to use it though)?
What do you guys recommend?
IN Texting. The $10 a month plan, on your phone only. You get free unlimited texting to other Verizon Customers, and 500 texts to other carriers. There's $15 and $20 versions of the same thing that just give you more texts to other people.
does anyone knoes some good rock songs to listen to when your pissed? i dont like too much screaming but a little bit is okay.
Three Days Grace - especially Overrated, Riot, and I Hate Everything About You.
