Tonight I joined an online dating service and of the profiles was that this guys first passion is shopping and second is eating out. I told my mom that I do not want a guy who likes to eat. She said that he isnt saying that - he just likes the social end of dining out. And my mom could understand my feelings if the guy weighed 500 pounds but he is fit. MY QUESTION: DO YOU AGREE WITH HER THAT ALL HE LIKES IS THE SOCIAL END OF EATING OUT. (HE ALSO SAID HE LIKES THE FOLLOWING: In my free time, I enjoy: Hanging Out with Friends, Listening to/Playing Music, Shopping, Traveling/Weekend Trips/Adventure Travel I like to go to: Beach, Live Theater, Restaurants)

But if his only interest was in the food, he probably would have put "stuffing my face" as a passion. So yes, he probably refers the social end of it. [ LM's advice column | Ask LM A Question ]

And being social, means that dining in a restaurant/eating out is what he likes- being social/talking. He did not say "I love eating," he said "I love eating OUT." It's a WAY big difference.
