Tonight I joined an online dating service and of the profiles was that this guys first passion is shopping and second is eating out. I told my mom that I do not want a guy who likes to eat. She said that he isnt saying that - he just likes the social end of dining out. And my mom could understand my feelings if the guy weighed 500 pounds but he is fit. MY QUESTION: DO YOU AGREE WITH HER THAT ALL HE LIKES IS THE SOCIAL END OF EATING OUT. But if his only interest was in the food, he probably would have put "stuffing my face" as a passion. So yes, he probably refers the social end of it.

Yes, I agree with your mom. He said he loves passion, so he is obviously social. And being social, means that dining in a restaurant/eating out is what he likes- being social/talking. He did not say "I love eating," he said "I love eating OUT." It's a WAY big difference.
