Hey, I'm Elana... I'm 15 years old and I love to help people.. I know I know, everyone says that on this site, but I can be pretty good at giving advice sometimes. I'm into lots of sports, tennis, softball, and my new thing... Track, haha... I also dance, play piano (obviously) my saxophone (love it) and go online... A LOT! lol

Random stuff about me: I'm 5'1 and a 1/2".. I LOVE music..favorite bands are: switchfoot, green day, rooney, foo fighters, stone temple pilots, and any jazz music, my friends and family mean so much to me, things don't always go the way I want them to..(when does it ever work like that?) bowling rocks my world!! haha even if I suck! :) I'm extremely energetic and bouncy as my friends know, and I like to laugh, at anything...

Ok, my dad just died from lung cancer on Tuesday. My friend who me and him have been really really good friend, with some benefits, for almost a year now, asked me to hang out with him yesterday, and he asked me out while we were hanging out. I said yes but Im worried that, 1. hes gonna cheat on me and our friendship is gonna be over (cause he is quite flirty with girls at times) and i dont wanna lose him as a friend cause i really need him around during this time in my life and that 2. idk if he just asked me out cause he feels bad about me because I just lost my dad. HELP!!!

First off I'm very sorry about your dad... that's a really tragic thing to have to go through..

Secondly... I really wouldn't worry about the guy cheating on you.. it sounds like you have an awesome friend and boyfriend... He most likely realized how much he cares about you now that he's been helping you through this stuff and he wants to take it to a new level. I would give him the benefit of the doubt for now and just be thankful you have someone like him in your life...

I'm 14, almost 15, and I'm a girl. I really like this guy and I thought he liked me too. He hasn't asked me out yet, but I know at one point he liked me because he told me..."I like you a lot but I don't want to go out right now." I've been waiting on him for I think almost a month now, and he's gotten me alone twice, both times he was kind of hinting for a kiss, but I thought I might have imagined it so I decided not to...twice, I kinda just said goodbye or see ya later and walked away. Now I think he's hurt by me doing that, and he hasn't asked me out, but I want to know what to do...he's confusing me. And along with that it was my ex-boyfriend who kinda hooked us up. He's the kinda guy who grinds with all the girls at our homecoming...do you think he's waiting unitl after that? do you think i hurt him by being afraid to kiss him? does he even like me anymore? what should i do?

It's nice to know who asked this question because now I can really give my honest opinion about the guy and everything like that... I really think he does like you... he hinted he wanted a kiss but you pulled away.. don't worry he'll come around again. But don't be pressured into it if you don't feel ready. Just wait and maybe try *calling* him.. lol like i told you to do in the first place... but anyway... tell him to save you a dance at homecoming so he knows you still like him... and I'm sure he still likes you a lot...

okay, last year [my sophomore yr now im a junior], i had A TON of friends in each one of my classes..and i got to be REALLY close with them.like in each class i would have like 1-2 really really close friends who i didnt really hang out with at school outside of that class but in that class we always would talk and sometimes we would hang out on weekands...they would always tell me their boy/fam problems, and i would ALWAYS be there for them and give them adivce..i would even call them after school alot to make sure they were okay.....this year i dont have classes with alota the girls and its like they dont even care about me? theyll walk past me in the hall and smile and say hi but nothing big at all..theyre so unappreciative.. i mean i helped them on sum pretty serious issues they had...i feel so unappreciated and i feel like everything i ever did for them last year was a waiste even though it really helped them...how should i handle this?

I know what you mean... and as we get older things and people unfortunately do change... but maybe try making a little bit of an effort. When you see them in the halls smile and say: Hey! Haven't seen you in awile! What are you up to? maybe talk to them online or invite one of them over to hang out... That'll show them that your still there for them no matter what happens... and just so you know true friends are never forgotten. I'm sure they still love you and will always remember the stuff you were there for them through...

ok so love this guy soo much! and he's one of my really good friends. i wanna tell him i like him more then a friend//but i dont know if i should cuz i dont know if he likes me back as more than a friend and i dont want to create something akward between us! please help me. should i tell him i like him or not???

The best advice I can give: tell him! This has happened to me too a number of times... If he's one of your really good friends then you should be comfortable around him... so one time when you guys are talking just be like.. i think i like you and see what his reaction is. I'm sure everything will go great.. Even if he's not sure about it now you left him thinking... So just take a chance. Good Luck!!

Okay. Me and my best friend(male) have been best friends for two years. I've liked him on and off for the past two years as well. He's a very wonderful person and eveytime I tell him how I really feel about him, he tells me the same old story until recently he said I got him thinkin. But the problem is is that I hooked him up with my friend, I have a BIG JEALOUSY issue. And I hate to be around them when their together and everything because I would give the world to be with him and he knows it... but also, there's this other guy I like, but he's really really shy and he knows I like him but it seems like he dosen't have anything to say when I talk to him, but he likes me too, but now I am kinda trapped between the both of them. What should I do to get to my crush????

Hmm... I would say go for the shy guy who you think you like. No offense to your best friend but it sounds like he's not ready or he's leading you on. Talk to him a little more but don't get too hopeful. Plus if you did go out with him and then break up, think about how awful it would be to lose a friend like him...(By the way I've had this same problem too and if my BFF went out with one of my friends i would have jealousy issues too :-p ) If you got him thinking leave it at that and go in for the other guy. Strike up a conversation about anything really.. If he plays any sports ask him when his next home game is and hint that you want to come watch him. Be subtle and flirty.... hehe well good luck!

A fish, but honestly I'm not too attached to my fish.. :-\ they don't really do anything, but if your ok with that get a betta fish in a bowl and enjoy! lol
If you want something a little more active, try a bird or a gerbil. I don't know too much about either but they're pretty cool little pets. Oh I just got a rabbit! They're also really easy to take care of! All you have to do is make sure they have enough food and water and clean their cages like once a week. I love my bunny!! hehe They like to play and get held too...

i don't like myself. is that normal? like are there other people out there who don't like themselves either? i dunno, i just am having a really tough time and i'm liking myself less and less and less. please help me. i just feel so out there and wierd.

I know exactly how you feel... Towards the middle of last year I was having a really rough time accepting who I was... I really wanted to change, I got in fights with my friends a lot, the guy i liked, liked my best friend, and it felt like it was all my fault... don't even worry about this at all.. It'll pass i promise. I love myself now and realize i have some really good points about me. Just find some things you love to do, maybe meet some new people, and pretty soon you'll realize you're beautiful just the way you are! Good luck!

Ok, I have blue-ish eyes with green around my pupil. I have tan skin. School is starting soon and I wanna make my eyes stand out. Like when I'm walking down the hall, I want people to turn around and be like "Who's that girl". What kinds of colors of eye makeup such as eye shadow, mascara, and eyeliner should I use. I'm going into the 8th grade also. Please help! Thanks

Eyeliner!!! = ) lol put a dark colored, like black, eyeliner along your bottom lids and your eyes stand out soooo much! if you want you can use mascara too but i find that use one or the other cause then you won't look overdone.... For the eyeshadow colors, you can never go wrong with some neutral color like shimmery brown or something like that...

Ok - I recently got a petsitting job about 3 weeks ago. It's great and I love it!!! But my boss is hitting on me. He's a older guy around his late 40 - 50`s (I am not good with age) And his wife owns it. She is the sweetest lady. Well me and him went on a client interview and somehow he brushed aganist my butt with his hand, I was thinking hmm ok whatever. Then just at different times it seem ackward, he was like after you and wanted me to go first and different things like that. Well when I first meet him I sorta did have this weird feeling in my stomach, but just thought it was nervousness. Well then I had to go over his house to pick up invoices for the clients. And I walked up and he was on the pourch and before we went in the house we were talking and he reached towards my lips and I backed away I am like what what he's like you had a hair .. and reached again well I took my hand and like rubed it across my face I am like oh ok. And that was weird. Well I told my mom about it and she said that that is very weird and everything and it's up to me if I want to quit my job or not. I mean I love it so much, it's just that freaks me out. My mom said whenever I was going someplace and we knew he would be there, she would go with me. But I'm just afraid since he knows my schedule what if I go to a clients house and go inside and he's in there .. or what if he's stalking me watching me walk around the dogs. Whats really weird too is that he always wears sunglasses and smokes cigars. I don`t know what to do tho. Also their was a misunderstanding about one day I was suppose to work and he like curked out on me. Then when I had to go to his house (my mom came with me) he was like calm. It's really weird. What would you do?? :-/

Hmm... I would talk to the guy first, maybe even have your mom come in with you and discuss the whole thing... but if it doesn't work out and he still makes you feel scared and harassed- quit your job. No one has the right to make you feel this way. Especially not someone you work for. If you miss your job too much and you still want to work with animals, consider starting your own petsitting business! It would be really fun and you could still make some money. Put up ads and stick flyers in peoples mailboxes. Maybe even hire some of your friends to join you and work with you! Just forget about that stupid guy and do your own thing!

Flakey means you're shallow and you don't put your all into things... He mighta said this cause he thought you wouldn't be good in a relationship, like you wouldn't have any commitment. Sometimes it can mean oddball but I'm going with my first one on this...

I know this is going to be long, so sorry. But I will rate you high even if you answer!!

Well, I have a feeling that I could be a lesbian. And it's really difficult and I know that I'm going to have to wait and see if I actually am. The thing is I feel so much more comfortable around girls, and I actually have my eye on this one girl from my school. But the thought of getting married to a girl and not a guy makes me feel sick. And I just get this feeling when I'm around guys like Wow i'm so embarassed/nervous, But then I get this feeling like ohh YAY i'm so glad im here when I'm with girls. Don't worry about it! A lot of girls are like this and it probably is just a phase... And if you feel nervous around guys that might be a sign you like them... Girls are always more comfortable around other girls! Plus, I've liked guys for only a week before, it doesn't mean a thing..

Ok well last year all my dreams had come true. The guy I had feel for since I layed eyes on him 3 years ago, had finally liked me (though, we were going out or anything). I was pretty, popular... and I liked it. I wasnt conceited... I tried to act like I didnt know what people thought about me... but really I did. I heard ppl talk... I'm not stupid. Some goths said they didnt like me, some punks said I was too preppy. But I was me... and I liked it! I had my bff by my side always! The guys would usually fall for me... but it wasnt worth it, i had my eye on that one boy (from before). And now I notice that my bff was kind of my follower. I didnt mean to do it. I mean everyone knew we were bff's and we always hung out with the same people... but she didnt get as much attention from boy as me I guess. THEN something terrible happened... My middle school split up into different high schools... I didnt want this to happen at all... I loved my life, and now it was all changing!!! ANYWAYS i went to high school... and now that a year there has passed me and my bff are still friends... we have a lot of the same friends... but things are different. She's the one getting all the guys. Shes more popular because of sports and church and all. And I feel as if I'm the one following her. I hate it! Before it was perfect! my life was great! I felt so comfortable being myself! But now I feel different... I dont want to make a wrong move, I dont know what to say! I need some major help! not like 'be yourslef and everything will be great...'blah blah blah... Ive tried that... nothing changed. I just wanna be popular again! HELP ME. My friend just took my life

Sorry hun, but look at it from your friends point of view for a second.. You were the one getting all the guys last year and now she is. You were the one everyone wanted to talk to and now she is. Maybe before your life was so great but her's really sucked... Don't change yourself either to try and fit in. Honestly you should be happy for your friend and *gasp* don't try so hard to find your popularity again... If your's came and went so quick, most likely your friends will too...and just for now enjoy not being in the spotlight. Oh and keep after that one certain boy! ;-)

Yeah! I love my yorkie to death! He's a little different than most the dogs in his breed... First off he weighs 14 lbs when most of them weigh only 4 or at the most 8... but I'm sure there are others like him out there if you want a bigger dog...

Confront your parents. Tell them or show them how responsible at home and at school you can be... Tell them " I always help out when I'm at home and I get good grades at school, I'm doing just fine, why don't you trust me enough with a bf or even just my friends? It really hurts that I feel I can't be trusted to be on my own" Once your parents realize how hard this is for you let them know easily that you started to go out with this boy, and maybe even have them meet him... (I know embarassment city major!!) your bf sounds like he'll undestand though...

I've been playing piano for a good number of years, but not as seriously as I would have liked. I'm 17 now, and really want to get better at piano but am not sure what to look for instructional-wise. While I've played the trumpet, I've never learned to read any music but the treble clef and am having a real hard time with it. I mainly just make up my own chords and get down and dirty banging on my piano. I love jazz, blues, classic rock - and I thought it'd help a lot more to get some sheetmusic of classic rock songs I already know. Anyone know of some good piano sheetmusic I can get my hands on?

I've also really started to get interested in bass guitar. I think it's awesome. I love many a song with a kick ass base line, and I want to learn more. I've mingled with the guitar slightly, It's basically a rearranged piano in my opinion, but had trouble with getting into it. It doesn't quite seem like the bass needs the same approach as a guitar does, though. My boyfriend has an old bass I could borrow. Anyone have tips?

I know what you mean.. I love to play piano too, but I really didn't practice enough or take it seriously the last few years. Fortunately I have an awesome music teacher who i take lessons with every so often and he's helped me come a long way.. Maybe you could check the ads in your local paper and find some teacher near you.

Good sheet music, huh? check out www.musicnotes.com ... it costs a little for each piece of music but it's really good. all you do is print the music off your computer! also i think there's www.sheetmusicplus.com (sorry if that's not the right link...) I use these things all the time!

Bass is awesome, I'm just getting into electric guitar and stuff.. have fun with all this, it sounds great!

Oh my lord! you sound just like me! I too had a huge crush on my best guy friend for the longest time! Yes he flirted with me also, but liked one of my other friends. Finally I was tired of waiting and just came right out and told him I liked him... He wasn't sure how he felt at the time, but things were totally alright after I told him! don't be scared to lose a friendship just let him know... He might be thrilled to find this out!! Good Luck!
