If you want something a little more active, try a bird or a gerbil. I don't know too much about either but they're pretty cool little pets. Oh I just got a rabbit! They're also really easy to take care of! All you have to do is make sure they have enough food and water and clean their cages like once a week. I love my bunny!! hehe They like to play and get held too...

It is interesting to look at, but they aren't terribly active. You don't have to clean their cage very often.
I have really enjoyed my guinea pig, but you have to clean the cage once a week at least. You have to clip their nails and feed them at least once a day. At least they only mess up one area, and they make cute little noises. A fairly good buddy to watch tv with, but get them really small so they are more used to you.
Betta fish are my favorite. They don't mind if their water isn't 100% perfect. They can eat every other day, and mine likes rock and roll. You can agitate them and make them flare up their face like they are fighting. They are loners, but don't need a huge aquarium. The are perfectly happy in a vase or small bowl. I have had one for about three years which is really good. [ chaos's advice column | Ask chaos A Question ]

crystal200022us answered Monday August 30 2004, 1:10 pm: I recommend a cat. They are easy to take care of. Pretty much all you need to do is make sure they have food and water and you can play with them once in a while but cats generally are independent so they will do things on their own. Of course, if you want to make your cat a completely inside cat then you'll have to get a litter box but cats do well being indoors and outdoors. I hope this helps and good luck!

jbdreamer answered Monday August 30 2004, 1:08 pm: A hermit crab. Unlike a fish, you can actually play with it. And it is easier to clean it's cage, fish tanks you have to deal with filters, and it can get messy and expensive to replace. All you have to do with a hermit crab is feed and water it. And they are cheap! [ jbdreamer's advice column | Ask jbdreamer A Question ]
Roxybabii922 answered Monday August 30 2004, 1:00 pm: It depends, if you want a new born pet I wouldn't suggest getting a cat or dog because they use the bathroom alot all over that place, go to like a pet store and see the animals and then ask the people that wors there about them [ Roxybabii922's advice column | Ask Roxybabii922 A Question ]
