about

I'm a raw and living foodest. For those of you who are unfamiliar with what that is I only eat foods that have not been cooked. I do this because it maintains all of the nutrients and enzymes intact and is much healthier. I'm not here to try to convert anyone. I think you can reach maximum health by eating all kinds of foods fixed all kinds of ways. This is simply my life choice. What I'm here to do is help educate people as to what is happening to thier food. Did you know that the pharmaceutical companies have lobbied to have a law voted on called "Codex Aimentarius" that will take away our freedom to take suppliments? It has already been implemented in Europe. Of course it is still ok for them to put steroids, antiboitics and harmones in our foods. Have you wondered why there is a great influx of people acting aggressively and out of character? I'm here to help guide you through this mess. If you want to eat meat...eat meat...just get chemically free meat. I'm here to help you understand what is happening to you.

advice

I am 14/F and last night I found something that I think is a sore "down there". Should I be worried?

It's always a good idea to check those things out regardless of your sexual activity. There are illnesses that can make you sterile if you don't catch it when it is just beginning. Play it safe and see a Doctor.

my friend was just diagnosed with depersonalization. does anyone have it or know someone close to them who does? What can you tell me about it? What is it like to have it? Was it easy for you to learn to cope, or very difficult? What triggered your most severe symptoms? How can I help my friend when she returns from the clinic? While she's in the clinic? Is there anything I should or shouldn't say or do? Any information is greatly appreciated.

Thank you :)

A frightening and/or disturbing experience of not being within one's own body or of being in immediate danger of vanishing/separating from reality often described as the sensation of living inside a dream. Although cognitive functioning remains intact, the sufferers feel disconnected from their sense of self and often interpret it "as if I am losing my mind."
" My hands feel like they're made of paper, or like they belong to someone else." "My own face in a mirror seems foreign, like I have never really seen it before this moment..." "I cannot feel my body, not truly numb, but it is as if I have disappeared into myself, beyond my own flesh and blood..." "Sometimes I literally wonder if I am already dead and existing as a ghost...it feels like my soul is trying to leave its shell and I am fighting with all my strength to hold it inside this body. I don't know if I'm dreaming or awake; I must be going insane, to feel my self wafting away, I know it is only a matter of time..."

Here is the deal.. Lately I've been thinking alot about if god is real or not.. I don't know if I should believe it.. I mostly think that life was created by mostly scientific reasons.. The bible could really be made up from along long time ago..Nobody really knows right? Has anybody ever been touched by god? If I do not believe in god what would I be?

There is definitely a God, but I happen to believe that God was very scientific. I don't understand why science has to be excluded from creation. There are truths in the Bible, but they are all muddled up with peoples desire to control others through fear and manipulation. It's really hard to figure out where the truth ends and the manipulation begins. For example: We are made in God's image. In our society we think of God as being male yet when humans were created there is both male and female. How could we be in his image if there are two sexes? It is my belief God is a male/female team. Did you know that for over 10,000 years God was thought of as female? Property was inherited down the line through the women and they used the mother's last name and not the father's. It was the Arian people who came out of northern India and settled in the Middle East who started us the singular male God. The true Arian people are the people who now live in Iran or in ancient times Persia. These people are not arabic. In ancient versions of the Bible there was a feminine essence to God and her name was Wisdom. The feminine aspect of God has been stricken. The problem with the Bible is that it was put together by a group of people during Constantine's reign. They called this the Nicene Counsel. These guys put the Bible together under Constantine's guidance and they decided what was to be included and what was not. There are a lot of books that didn't make it because it didn't achieve the agenda they were trying to accomplish. And what was that you ask? Constantine was conquering the world. It was all about controlling the masses. The true Sabbath or day of worship was Saturday back then. It was Constantine who changed that to Sunday in honor of his favorite god, which was the sun god. This is how we have the name Sunday. Like any politician, Constantine saw the ever increasing popularity of a religion as a great opportunity to accomplish his goals. What a better way to achieve this goal by writing the main book that will control the religion. He wrote the Niacin Creed that is said in Catholic and Episcopalian Churches today. When he wrote it he decreed that any priest that didn't recite it in their service would be beheaded. Yep, you guessed it. There were priests that were beheaded. I won't say this when I go to church. Then there is the story of Noah. The original story is about Ziusudra who reigned for ten years as king of Shuruppak, a Sumerian city then on the Euphrates River. Ziusudra's reign ended with the flood of 2900 BC because in those days anyone not prompt w/their dept payments would be imprisoned, even a king (further explanation below). Then as now, river barges were used for transporting cargo on the Euphrates River. This cargo included livestock, beer, wine, textiles, lumber, stone, metals, dried fish, vegetable oil, and other cargo. In June about 2900 BC during the annual inundation of the Euphrates River, the river was at crest stage. Ziusudra and his family were picnicking on their loaded barge ready for delivery when a six-day thunderstorm caused the river to rise about 15 cubits (22 feet) higher and overflow the levees. By the time the river began to rise, it was already too late to evacuate to the foothills of the mountains 110 miles away. The runaway barge floated down the Euphrates River into the Persian Gulf and they were out in the middle of the gulf for a couple of weeks. All they could see was water everywhere until one day they saw a bird and knew they were near land. They finally became grounded in an estuary at the mouth of the river. After moving to dry land, Ziusudra offered a sacrifice to a Sumerian god on an alter at the top of a temple ziggurat, an artificial hill. Ziusutra could not return home because he had passed his delivery date and was considered delinquent or in debt, which meant that he would have to go to prison. He had to start a new life with his family here. Later, storytellers mistranslated the ambiguous word for hill as mountain. The storytellers then erroneously assumed that the nearby barge must have grounded on top of a mountain. Two Jewish scribes heard this story while in Babylonia and thought it would be a great story to teach a lesson and that's how Noah's Arch was written. Another story that comes from this story and is older than Noah's arch is the epic Gilgamesh. It's the one that has the quote still used today, "Water, water everywhere but not a drop to drink".

With all of this evidence and much more, too much to go into here, why do I still believe in God? When you are in biology and chemistry class really listen to the intricate details as to how we are made. We were created. We are like cyborgs or fine tuned machines for that matter. Every chemical in our bodies has a purpose and reason that is necessary for our survival. Our bodies are made up of all kinds of checks and balnaces. The miracle of our every detail is thought out to the finest point(operative term here is thought). Life on this planet is thought out to its utmost detail. Life dies and recycles itself. The trees make oxygen and we breath oxygen. We are a self-sustaining ecosystem (that we are destroying) and someone or something created or started all of this. Our creator put everything on this planet that all life would need to survive and when we (humans) mess with it that's when we create problems such as imbalance in the environment or cancer. The more we tamper w/this created system the more we create trouble for ourselves. So, if you're still undecided, I can completely understand that thought process. If you want to put a name to it I would say you're an agnostic. That is someone who neither believes nor disbelieves. They have an open mind either way. I've also included some websites below for you to research for yourself. keep in mind you can only find the truth within yourself. You do know the truth just acknowledge it.

I am really good at Social Studies but I don't know if there are any jobs avalible that let you in based on how good you are at this subject? Please include wages.

There are all kinds of interesting jobs you can get. You could work for a marketing/advertising company and predict social trends so that the companies know who and where they should focus their advertising dollars on. You could work for politicians and predict popular directions and views of the voters so that they know how to gear their speeches (believe me this is how it works). You could work for the government in enforcement such as the Army, Navy, or CIA and help them predict where the most likely hotspots in the world will be next. These jobs could bring you 6 figures as far as salary is concerned. You could also be a professor who studies ancient cities and work with archeologist in determining the most possible behavior patterns of the people they are excavating. There are so many jobs that are not coming to mind. Ask your teacher what they think. I'm sure they know of job opportunities that don't even cross my mind. Use your imagination and come up with a nitch that no one else has ever thought of. People make tons of money when they do that. But, whatever you do in life, be sure that it is something that you love doing. That is first and foremost. You will have a much happier life if you do what you love first, because the money will surely follow. Good luck!

Hello,

I woke up yesterday morning with an awful itchy white spotty mouth, the spots are tiny, white heads in patches all around the mouth area, extremly itchy, feel really dry when scratch them and came from no where.

I am going make a doctors appointment, but i really would like you advice before

Hope to hear from you before

A Doctors Appointment is actually a great idea. This could be any number of things such as an allergic reaction to something, like some food you may have ingested that you're not use to. It could also be some kind of fungal or bacterial infection. No one can really tell unless they can see it. So, what can we do about it until you get to the Doctor? If you can get to a health food store that carries essential oils get yourself some clove oil. Clove oil is great for a tooth ach. You put it on the offending tooth and the pain will go away until you can get to a dentist. Well, you can put clove oil on the itchy areas. It may sting a little at first (because I'm sure you've scratched it) but it will numb it. You can also put peppermint oil on it as well. Peppermint oil is an analgesic and will help it feel better until you can get to a Doctor. Good luck!

I don't know whats wrong with me. I might be depressed but I don't know. Well my dad died when I was 7 and my mom went blind (a lot of stuff happened but I don't want to say online...friends go here and stuff) so anyway. Lately everyting sets me off. I start to cry. Not just cry but hide under my blanket and half scream into my pillow. I used to cut myself a while back, but I stopped because all my friends didn't look at me the same way. My life is pretty messed up, but I've always been able to deal with it before. This one person said that I should talk to someone outside of my family, someone I trust. The thing is, I don't trust anyone so its hard to do that. So I have really kept all this in for like ever.... I have been having like panick attacks. I can't talk to a lot of people at once online, or I get angry and overwhelmed. I keep friends for a month, than I stop talking to them for a month and than the next month I talk to them again. I cry like every night. I don't want to talk to a counsler as everyone suggested because they get payed to listen to problems they don't really want too. Besides I don't cry in front of people. I have never cried in front of anybody except like maybe when I was like five. I feel so weird if I cry in public and people give me sympathy or w/e. I don't want sympathy. I don't want to talk to some stranger who just sits there and listens. Idk. I've been to one before right when my dad died and it didn't help at all. They released me after like two sessions saying I was a normal child. Even though I wasn't, I never talked during the sessions because like I said I just wasn't comfortable at all, and I don't feel like the counsler really wants to be there. There is a lot more stuff, I just don't really wanna type it all out. I know this is super long and hardly anyone is going to read it. But if you do, please help me. I don't know what to do anymore.

There are a lot of things going on here. One thing is for sure; you have a chemical imbalance going on. You are feeling out of control, which is exacerbating your condition. One way to help yourself get through this is to be more prudent in the types of foods that you eat. There are so many chemicals that are being added to our foods simply so that the large corporations can make tons of money. It is all about that $. Anyway, there is a chemical called MSG that is in absolutely everything, from foods spices like Accent (it is all MSG), Fertilizers like AuxiGro, preservatives (every restaurant you go to uses it to keep their salad bar fresh), soft drinks, Seltzer Water (its call natural flavorings)...I could go on and on. My point is that this particular ingredient alone has wreaked havoc on our emotional stability. If something says "Natural Flavorings" on the bottle, don't ingest it. I know for myself that if I eat one thing with this in it you have to peal me off the roof. I am so highly emotional that you wouldn't want to be in the same room with me. So be aware of this particular ingredient in your foods. When you go to a Chinese restaurant ask them not to use MSG in your food. They are the worst culprits in the restaurant business. Start eating more fresh fruits and vegetables and make sure that they are organically raised. This will give you a stronger chance of getting a healthier vitamin rich food. Start reading the labels. There are more chemicals in the foods today than food. Meat and dairy products are filled with antibiotics, hormones, and steroids. I will include a website below for you to go to so that you can read up on these things. I don't want to make my advise about foods since there are more pressing things going on with you right now. But I do want to make one last comment on the foods you take in. If you are eating these types of foods, fast foods, food filled with process sugar and corn syrup you are only magnifying the anger and hurt that you are feeling. If you have been eating a lot of sugary foods lately? Than you are feeding your pain and it will get stronger. Start drinking lots of water to help flush this stuff out of your system. Once you quit eating the harmful stuff you may go through a period of about 3 days where you will feel, well, not your best. You may even experience flu like symptoms. This is just your body detoxing and getting rid of these harmful chemicals. These chemicals are exaggerating your since of helplessness.

Now I get that you don't want to go to a therapist for help. They aren't for everyone. A couple of things that I have found that works for me are: I study my own conditions (I've got quite a few myself) and I join local support groups. What's great about a support group is you can learn a lot from other people who are suffering from the same condition you are. I am not a professional in the psychology field, but if I were to venture a guess I'd say that you are suffering from clinical depression. I've included some sites on this issue as well. You might try contacting a local group called Al-anon, I've included a website below about them. They would be a great place to start in a support group. There is an 800# on that site. You can call them and they will hook up with a local chapter. As I mentioned earlier, you can learn a lot from these groups. These people are experiencing the same thing that you are. There will be someone there who is just like you and you can learn from them what has worked and what doesn't work so you don't have to waste time figuring it out. Also, there are some natural herbs that you can take that will be of some help to you and they are: St. Johns Wort, Holy Basil, Ginkgo Biloba, Ginger, Siberian Ginseng, just to name a few. All you have to do is put, "herbs for depression" in your search engine and you'll get a plethora of informative sites. The important thing here is that you work on improving yourself. No matter what is thrown in front of you simply move past it and keep going. Take care of yourself FIRST and FORMOST. You are the most important thing in our life and you need to honor yourself. Get yourself on a healthy diet, involve yourself in a good support group and take herbal supplements and though I didn't mention it earlier, involve yourself in a light workout/sports program of some kind. Your life will get better in no time.

I had an average rating of 4.97 yesterday. Someone had posted a question where they asked for people's opinions on a situation that had arisen with a family member. A 'do you think this is right?' type question. I posted my answer, along the lines of "depending on age/etc, perhaps you could speak to their parents about this."

I understand people can rate you however they wish but I got a 2 for it! I admit I object to this anyway but the question has since been deleted and I'm just wondering why ratings stand on deleted questions. Because of this person's unfair rating, I've dropped in one moment from 4.97 to 4.93.

In general, I am wondering if it would make sense to null and void ratings you receive for questions that have been deleted?

I can understand where you are coming from. I never give advise that I don't truly think could be bennificial to someone, yet if it isn't the flowery feel good answer they want to hear they will rate you negatively. My ratings have dropped as low as 4.85. You can read my colomn and see that I don't insult or degrade people because of the situations going on in their life. But I wouldn't worry about such a minor drop in ratings. You will have them back up in no time. I know, it has happened to me so many times. I just keep on going and give advice to the best of my ability. That is all you can hope for.

Well, today I asked my bf if he'd told everyone about us (we've been together 6 months today) and he said he had except one girl. When I further probed him about why, I found out she was a girl he had asked out (but she refused) before we got together. Well, he won't tell her because her parents seem to think he's a suitable candidate for her to marry and he thinks they would be hurt if they found out he was in love with someone else. I feel really hurt by this, because even though I know he meant well not to hurt them, I feel this shows he has feelings for her still, or at least is trying to save has as "Backup" in case things don't work out.
Am I justified in feeling this way ? Or could he have genuinely wanted to spare their feelings? Or does this mean there are some genuine problems in our relationship?

I will rate. And thank you.

So, let me get this straight, it's NOT ok to hurt the parents of some girl that has turned him down for a date, yet, it IS ok to hurt you, his girlfriend, the person he loves? Something's VERY wrong with this picture. Does his parents at least know about you? And why is there such a concern for the parents of someone who he is not dating? There are some very BIG questions here that your boyfriend needs to answer. He's still not being completely honest with you about something. I can understand why you feel the way you do. His reasons for his behavior don't make sense. He has a lot of explaining to do and you shouldn't feel badly for confronting him on these issues. He isn't considering your feelings here, so you shouldn't worry about his. But before you do confront him you have to prepare yourself to hear something you may not want to know. I wish you all the luck!

I think my boyfriend of 4yrs is racist. And i think the race that he hates happens to be mine. I've been crying about it for hours! Is that even possible? What should i do?

Well, this may come across as a little complicated but I'll do my best to explain. There is no such thing as race. We all happen to be the same race. Anyone hating someone because of a difference in melanin levels in the skin, or because they eyes may have a different slant does not understand the truth and wish to remain in the dark. You see, there have been scientific biological studies done by an Italian and European descendant scientist who have found the exact bushman tribe in South Africa that we are all descended from. The name of this tribe is the La Sande (I'm not positive of the spelling, but I think it's pretty close). When you look into the faces of this tribe you can see all of the so-called races in the world. They have used DNA and the Y chromosome in males to trace it back. They also traced how we migrated and moved to the different parts of the world as we have. They found a southern Indian (the country) who's DNA was the same as the aboriginal people of Australia and were able to show that the route the aborigines took to get to Australia. They found THE FAMILY in Kazakhstan that all Europeans, Asians, Middle Easterners, Native Americans, etc. are descendants of. Now I'll bet you are wondering how we could have differences in skin tone, eye color and hair colors, right? Easily explained. When we lived in Africa we were living in the tropics and the sun is very strong there. Though we do need vitamin D to survive we can also get too much of it. Melanin is a natural sunscreen and protects us from getting too much sun. When those of us who decided to move to northern colder climates found the sun not to be that strong. We weren't getting enough vitamin D so our skin had to lighten up to let more of the sun in so that we could get the vitamin D that we needed. Our head is the place on the body that we loose the most heat. When we moved to the colder climates we needed to hold onto as much heat as we could so things like our noses slimed down a bit or smaller versions. I'm white and all my life I could not see that difference, really. Start checking everyone out with a different perspective. Have you ever noticed how you can see the faces of your friends and family in every so-called race? That's because we are all related. I have included the website for the Journey of Man study as well as the PBS store. I bought the 2 hr CD that explains this whole thing much better than I can and have been sharing it with anyone I can. I would like to see a world where we didn't make problems were they need not be. I wish we could to do away with separatist terms like African American. We should all just be Americans. I wish that instead of February being African American History month simply make it that history is history. When you are studying a particular year, country etc. you are studying all influences and people at the same time. When you are studying literature than you should study the writings of great writers of all cultures. Did you know that Alexander Dumas (1802-1870) the author of "The Three Musketeers" series was a black man? One of my favorite books of all times is Alice Walkers "Jubilee". I first read the book in 1968 and I was blown away. It's a story of her grandmother's experience as a slave and daughter of the plantation owner. I think that schools should have us read "Gone with the Wind", followed by "Jubilee". You'd get to see both sides. Why are we so afraid to face our past? Why can't we teach our children about our past mistakes so that they are not repeated? Our fear is what is perpetuating these racist attitudes in people and this is what must be stopped. It is my belief that as soon as we stop polarizing ourselves then people will (for the most part) will not see the differences. I'm not saying that anyone should do away with the beauty of their individual cultures and how that extension of our family developed. I love our differences and different outlooks and ideas. I have learned so much from people who have seen the world from a different perspective than me. I don't want to loose that. I just want to loose the attitude that we are different races, because we aren't. I feel for you in the situation with your boyfriend. I'll bet he was just mad at someone and said things that he didn't really mean, but you should have a talk with him about that. He needs to know how it hurt you for him to do or say whatever it was he did or said. I don't think that was his intent. People make statements all the time that they don't mean. Talk to him about it first before believing he's something he may not be. If you've been with him for 4 years and not seen anything before now, then chances are he didn't mean whatever it was.

Hey there! I'm going on a cruise in a month. But I want to lose 20 pounds within 3 months. What foods would help me accomplish weight loss? Keep in mind I will be exercsing too. Thanks!

That should be a snap! Start braking down your daily food intake to eating every two hours. Believe it or not this speeds up your metabolism. Cut out breads, pastas, fried foods, fast foods, and desserts. Do not eat T.V. dinners or pre-packaged foods. They are filled with chemicals that trigger the hypothalamus and/or thyroid to slow down. There have been studies done that prove the chemicals that are being put into our foods such as MSG and aspartame create lesions on the hypothalamus and results in obesity. Before a workout eat a high protein meal. This will help you to build lean muscle during your workout. Carry baggies of fresh fruits and/or veggies with you to snack on when you aren't where you can prepare your own meals. These will serve as your every two hour meals when you are out and about. Drink lots of water. A person should drink at least their body weight in ounces a day in water. That would mean that if you weighted 100 lbs. you should drink 100 ounces of water a day. Eat whole organic fresh foods. If you eat dairy, meats or eggs, make sure that they are organic free range. chickens should be grain fed and cows ideally should be grass fed. If all you can find is organic free-range grain fed cows, then that is the next best thing. Grain is not their natural diet but it is better than what is available in your conventional grocery stores. You need to stay away from meats in the conventional grocery stores because they are raised in horrid unethical conditions, which is why they have to use antibiotics on them. Under any other circumstances we would consider these methods as animal abuse. Because they are being raised for food every turns a blind eye. The antibiotics are given to them to keep the animals from getting too sick before they go to slaughter. They keep the animals pumped up on steroids and hormones that make the animals grow faster and get fatter. What do you think these chemicals are going to do to you if you ingest them? Chickens that use to take 6 months to raise are now raised in 6 weeks. Eat wholesome foods, develop healthy eating habits, keep yourself active, and you will never have a weight problem. Good luck on your quest!

My bedroom is white and boring. I've been thinking about redecorating it. mostly painting the walls. I just have no idea what color to paint it. My favorite colors are pink and black. I'd be scared to paint it black and plus, im not allowed. but im not sure if i wanna paint it pink. Please help.

What colors would you suggest to paint a bedroom.

I'll rate 5's for anyone that tries.

Why not make it a black and white room. You could buy a black comforter adorn it with white pillows then accent the room with black throw rugs (you may have to use large shaggy bathroom throw rugs, but their washable) and curtains. Paint shelving and furniture a glossy/enameled black, which will look stunning against your white walls. Hang black and white photos and posters about the room and on the walls. You can easily change colored pictures to black and white photos on your computer. Adopting this line of decorating would give your room an air of sophistication. Your room will look bigger.

If you would prefer to paint the walls than go with a salmon or rose tone color. Accent the room with Ralph Lauren green. This color is so dark that it looks like a greenish, bluish, black color (you just have to see it). It will work well with pink tones. You can view this color at any Home Depot. They carry a complete line of Ralph Lauren colors. These colors are more expensive than others, but the trick is to pick a Ralph Lauren color, take the color sample to the mixing table and have the clerk mix the color in a cheaper brand. You will have the same color for less money.

Below I've included some websites that you want to check out that could possibly help you with your decision.

Have fun!!!!

i was in love with my bf. i loved him deeply and truely. then we broke up and it was over 5 months ago. im not a stocker or anything. but i still love him. i have had thoughts about being with him. i dream about him. but he hates me and wont even talk to me. i sometimes wonder if it would be easier to harm myself than to talk to him about it. i now think im fat and i weight 96 lbs. i think im ugly and i used to do modeling and got voted best looking out of my class. things i used to like about myself i now hate. i want to loose weight and cut myself and i fight with my mom and dad all of the time now. but it only makes it worse. then i wrecked my car and was seriously injured. then everytime i start to do good, i fuck up and get on the same track. can someone please help me

I know this is going to sound weird, but I think that there is a chemical imbalance going on in your body right now. That's why these feelings of self-hatred and despair are surging through your system. You are associating these errant feelings with events such as your brake up with your boyfriend. Your symptoms sound like anorexia. You need to fix this problem first before you attempt to get back with your boyfriend. Getting back with your boyfriend right now would only temporarily fix the problem. You can't expect a relationship with another person to be the catalyst to fixing what is happening with you. That is unrealistic (a symptom 99% of the population suffer from). Only you can fix this. You have to start seeing the beauty w/in you and loving yourself first before you can have a healthy relationship with someone else. Now the question is how can we get the ball rolling for this to happen? You do need to get some therapy. There are all kinds of groups, which are dedicated to anorexia. I've included some web sites below that can help you understand this condition and seek help. If none of these sites fit your needs simply put, "anorexia", in your browser and a plethora of sites will appear for you to choose from. You might even put anorexia in and add your state and town and see if a local support group comes up. You do need support.

Another contributing factor to your chemical imbalance is that you are not eating properly and are probably sensitive to the chemicals that are in the foods you do eat. One way to help yourself with this is to be choosey about the foods you eat. Start eating organically raised food such as vegetables, dairy, and meats. Making wiser choices in the foods that you eat will make a huge difference in your sense of well being. To help you understand a little bit as to how this works is...the chemicals you ingest trigger the adverse feelings that are poping up. You try to associate where these feelings are coming from. The only thing that comes to your (reasoning) mind would be events such as your break-up with your boyfriend. We are beings of reason and we try to associate were the feelings must be coming from. So, we latch onto events in our lives to explain these feelings and we become convenced these events must be the cause of these errant feelings. One of the biggest culprits in this chemical imbalance problem is MSG. There is a website below called the, Weston A Price Foundation, that will be very informative as far as how chemicals that are creating a lot of the harmful feelings and diseases that are now such an epidemic in this country. It was only 20 years ago that I never heard of someone wanting to cut themselves. Now it is rampant. Look at the articles on the Weston A Price Foundation. They are enlightening. I have included a copy of one of these articles about MSG below:

MSG Updates by Jack Samuels

In 1908, in Japan, Kikunae Ikeda invented the food ingredient, "monosodium glutamate." About one year later, with a partner, he formed a company, Ajinomoto, to produce the product. Monosodium glutamate did not appear in the United States to any degree until the late 1940s, following the Second World War. During the war, it had been noted that Japanese soldiers' rations tasted better than the rations used by our soldiers. The difference was believed to be "monosodium glutamate." Today, "monosodium glutamate" or its reactive component, "processed free glutamic acid," is found in almost all of the processed foods that are manufactured in the United States. In 1957, Lucas and Newhouse found that normal neonatal mice suffered acute degenerative lesions in the inner retina when "monosodium glutamate" was administered by feeding tube.1 In 1968, during a replication of this study at Washington University Medical School, St., Louis, Missouri, Dr. John W. Olney noted that, some of the mice had become grotesquely obese. He determined to sacrifice some of the mice to confirm his belief that lesions would be found in the hypothalamus region of the brain. Not only was his suspicion confirmed, but further testing indicated that there were also other neuroendocrine effects from the "monosodium glutamate." His findings were published in 1969.2 Dr. Olney, a National Academy of Science scientist who is credited for the voluntary removal of MSG from baby food in the 1970s, continues to publish research on the toxicity of glutamic acid, often using "monosodium glutamate."In 1968, the New England Journal of Medicine published a Letter to the Editor3 in which Ho Man Kwok, MD, asked for help in determining why he and his friends suffered reactions shortly after eating in some Chinese restaurants, though he never experienced such reactions when he lived in China. The journal titled the letter "Chinese Restaurant Syndrome," and researchers from around the country wrote the journal to suggest that Dr. Kwok and his friends' problem was an intolerance to MSG. One letter indicated that 30% of the population reacted to MSG.In 1969, apparently concerned with the bad reports regarding "monosodium glutamate," the glutamate industry formed a nonprofit organization to defend the safety of MSG, the International Glutamate Technical Committee. Later, in 1977, they increased their efforts with the development of a nonprofit subsidiary, The Glutamate Association, primarily operating as a public relations arm of the glutamate industry. In about 1990, the glutamate industry turned to the International Food Information Council (IFIC), another nonprofit industry-funded organization, to be their spokesman and to promote the safety of MSG along with the other products that they represent. The literature is clear in demonstrating that MSG is toxic to humans and that over 25% of the population suffer adverse reactions from MSG. In the opinion of this writer, the subject is only controversial because of the input of the three organizations mentioned above and because of research they have funded to discredit findings of others and to tell the story that the glutamate industry wants told, research that is flawed to the point of being worthless.4 "Monosodium glutamate" is approximately 78% processed free glutamic acid and 22% sodium (salt) and moisture, with about 1% contaminants. It is the processed free glutamic acid that causes people to suffer adverse reactions, and, unfortunately, there are over 40 food ingredients other than "monosodium glutamate" that contain processed free glutamic acid in varying amounts.5 Consequently, consumers refer to all processed free glutamic acid as MSG, regardless of the name of the ingredient.People differ in their tolerances to MSG, but typically always suffer similar reactions each time they ingest amounts of MSG that exceed their tolerances for the substance. Reactions experienced vary dramatically, as if MSG finds the weak link in the body.6 Typically, people will suffer reactions at approximately the same time each time they ingest amounts of MSG that exceed their tolerance levels. However, that time lapse can vary among people from immediately following ingestion of MSG up to 48 hours following ingestion. Use of alcohol or exercise prior to, during or following an MSG-containing meal will exacerbate an MSG reaction in many people. MSG-sensitive people will typically suffer similar reactions to aspartame. Neuroscientists believe that the young and the elderly are most at risk from MSG. In the young, the blood-brain barrier is not fully developed, exposing the brain to increased levels of MSG that has entered the bloodstream. The elderly are at increased risk because the blood-brain barrier can be damaged by aging, by disease processes, or by injury, including hypertension, diabetes, hypoglycemia, and stroke. Throughout life, the blood-brain barrier is "leaky" at best. MSG has now been implicated in a number of the neurodegenerative diseases, including ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis and Huntington's disease. In general, the natural glutamic acid found in food does not cause problems, but the synthetic free glutamic acid formed during industrial processing is a toxin. In addition, when MSG is formed using hydrochloric acid the final product includes carcinogens.7 Since 1998, some of our agricultural crops have been sprayed with AuxiGro WP Metabolic Primer (AuxiGro), a product that includes 29.2% processed free glutamic acid (MSG). Produce sprayed with AuxiGro is not identified as being sprayed. Therefore MSG is back in baby food,8 without disclosure. As of this date, the use of free amino acid, such as the free glutamic acid present in AuxiGro, has not been approved by the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) for organic crops. However, there are at least two organic fertilizers currently on the market that contain free amino acids. Both contain hydrolyzed protein. The hydrolysis of protein invariably results in the freeing of individual amino acids and if acids are used in the process, carcinogenic contaminants are produced. This means that some organic crops may contain free glutamic acid (MSG) and carcinogens.Recently, AuxiGro's manufacturer, Auxein Corporation, applied in California for approval of AuxiGro as a pesticide to be applied to grapes. California is the only state that has not approved AuxiGro for use on crops as a pesticide. When the California Department of Pesticide Regulation received many letters of objection from people located throughout the country, the Auxein Corporation changed its strategy and obtained approval for AuxiGro to be used on grapes as a fungicide. Previously, AuxiGro was approved in California as a fertilizer for use on tomatoes. My advice to you is to do your best to eliminate MSG from your diet. You will feel better. That means avoiding all processed foods. My advice to investigators of school violence is to investigate the effects of toxins in children's diets. There are high levels of MSG in soy products and seasoning mixes used in school lunch programs, fast foods and snack foods. My advice to growers is to avoid using fertilizers and pesticides that contain hydrolyzed protein and/or free glutamic acid, often listed on product labels as L-glutamic acid. Use of such products will only create a backlash against the use of all chemicals in agriculture.

Is it true that mascara makes your eyelashes fall out? If so how do you prevent it?

Thanks =)

What happens is more of your eyelashes fall out. They fall out before they would normally. But, unless you are allergic, all of your eyelashes will not fall out at the same time. Look at some young photos of some of your female relatives who wear mascara. Notice how their eyelashes were thicker when they were younger. How you can stop some of this is by making sure that you remove your mascara every single night before you go to bed. No exceptions. Use a really good eye cream (a cream formula designed specifically for the eye) every night. Your mother may not think you need it because you are young. Most people think eye creams are specifically for wrinkles. You see, mascara is very drying on the eyelashes, which is why they break and fall out, yet a good cream will keep the lashes pliable. Remember, eyelashes are hairs. The hair on your head will dry, break and fall out if you apply too many chemicals to it or simply with day-to-day wear. What do you do about that? You use conditioners. Same logic applies to your eyelashes. Good luck!!!

Here's the DL.
I went to this wild party,
got really wasted,
hooked up with this guy that goes to my school,
and now everyone at school knows.
But see, that wouldn't be bad,
if only the kid were cute/funny/popular/etc.
He's the exact opposite.
He's ugly/creepy/weird/dork/no friends/etc.
I'm embarassed, but how should I play off the situation?

Don't let on that it bothers you. The more people realize that it bothers you the more they will make fun of you. People love to see people react and make them feel bad. I wish that wasn't so, but it is. Especially when you are still in school. Obviously in your wasted stupor you let your guard down and you were able to see an inner beauty in him that you hadn't let yourself see before. Just keep that thought in the back of your mind in your daily life when you run across someone that you think is different and weird. You will have a much more interesting and diverse life if you do. But, remember if someone is weird to the point that you feel uncomfortable and there is something off about them? Listen to that feeling and get away as fast as you can. Your inner self is trying to tell you something. As far as your nerdy friend? Don't worry; I'm not trying to talk you into connecting with him. Just think of it as a lesson to show that there is something unique and beautiful in everyone. NEVER be ashamed of something you may do. Life is and will be full of things you wish you had done differently. Simply take each action and result as a lesson. When something turns out differently than you had wanted simply look at the situation and see the different angles and what you can do differently next time so you don't repeat the results. If it happens the way you want...well, it's a no brainer. You'll repeat that one.

Now, how do you handle the situation? Well, as I said before, act like it was no big deal. If someone makes a rude remark to you about it simply say something like, don't knock it if you haven't tried it and laugh it off. After a while they will see that you are being good-natured about it and laughing right along with them, this will deflate the whole thing. It won't be any fun for them anymore if they can't get a reaction from you.

A little advise. Try to only drink to the point of happiness and fun. Never past memory blockage or self control. I think you know your limit now, just don't go past it. Also, be careful who you let get you a drink. There is that date rape drug out there that knocks you out and someone can take advantage of you. Be careful and have fun!!!!!!

Does anyone know why my cat hates me? She is a seven year old main coon. Everytime I pick her up she gets really mad and doesnt stop meowing very loud. Is this normal for a main coon? Or should I be holding her differently? I hold her on my hip, like a baby, but that is just the way Ive been holding her for all of her life, and it does not seem like it would be uncomfortable to her. But sometimes she will come up to me and rub against me but the minute I put my hand out to pet her she like hisses at me. Does she just not want to be loved?!?

Your Maine Coon may be trying to tell you something. Maine Coons are highly people-oriented cats they are not overly dependent. They do not constantly pester you for attention, but prefer to "hang out" with their owners, investigating whatever activity you're involved in and "helping" when they can. They are not, as a general rule, known as "lap cats" but as with any personality trait there are a few Maine Coons that prefer laps. Most Maine Coons will stay close by, probably occupying the chair next to yours instead. Maine's will follow you from room to room and wait outside a closed door for you to emerge. A Maine Coon will be your companion, your buddy, and your pal, but hardly ever your baby.

Maine Coons are relaxed and easy-going in just about everything they do. The males tend to be the clowns while the females retain more dignity, but both remain playful throughout their lives. They generally get along well with kids and dogs, as well as other cats. They are not as vertically oriented as some other breeds, preferring to chase objects on the ground and grasping them in their large paws...no doubt instincts developed as professional mousers. Many Maine Coons will play "fetch" with their owners.

It sounds like your cat wants to hang out but not be picked up. She may be trying to train you with the hissing. The best way to pickup a cat is by picking them up by the chest and rear combined, never the stomach. The way you are holding your cat would be very uncomfortable. When your cat was young it could tolerate it easier, but as it gets older it can no longer do that. Also, Maine Coons are not, as mentioned above, lap cats. You are going to have to build up trust with your cat before she will be comfortable allowing you to do it again. Start by petting and loving on your cat w/o picking it up. When it hisses at you don't let it bother you. Simply hug, kiss, or pet your cat and leave it right were it is. When you see it laying down go down on it's level and hug, pet or kiss your cat telling it how lucky you are to have it in your life and leave it there. Don't pick it up. Before long you will see a difference in your cat's behavior towards you and your cat will love you all the more for it.

http://www.focusas.com/Depression.html
That's the site that I found the depression symptoms on! I've had all except the last 3 and the running away one. I'm relly scared and I don't want to tell my mom because she has alot on her plate right now and I don't want her to knoe. My mom has depression too I think and they did say it could run in families. She had it when she was 28 or 30 and now I have it wen I'm 14! I don't want to have it forever and I would relly appreciate any possible help!! Please because I don't want to grow up morbid

There seems to be an epidemic of depression these days. The Doctors are all too happy to prescribe all kinds of medications that only mask the symptoms but do nothing to help the person. I was diagnosed with depression and they put me on Prozac, Zoloft and something else, I can't remember what it was. I'd go to the Doctor once a month and all they would do is give me a refill for my prescription. There was never any therapy involved. I also have ADHD. I took myself off of the medications (against Doctors orders) and started treating myself with natural methods. There are all kinds of things that you can do to help yourself naturally. Only eat organic foods. All of the chemicals that they put into our foods today definitely trigger adverse responses from us. I consider these responses as being an allergic reaction to the chemicals that are put into our foods. For example; the cows that we eat today are treated with hormones, steroids and antibiotics. The hormones are used to keep dairy cows in a state of lactation. Their utters get so huge they can't stand up. You've heard how women suffer from the condition of PMS. Well, PMS is a hormonal imbalance, which creates a state of depression in women. It is my belief that eating the commercial milk and cheeses on the market today adds greatly to this condition and may even be the major cause. 30 or 40 years ago a lot fewer women suffered from this condition. It only stands to reason that eating more hormones is only creating an imbalance. Purchase only organic milk and cheeses that are hormone free. Part of being a teenager is the sudden influx of hormones. Add this to the hormones that are being added to your food and you've got trouble.

The meat is shot up with steroids so that the cows grow faster. It is illegal for us to take steroids because of the extreme emotional outburst it creates in people. Perfectly normal people who take steroids have been known to become so volital that they have killed people. If they had not been on steroids this would never have happened. Their emotions are out of control. Yet, it is ok for us to ingest steroids by eating the meat. It use to take 6 months to raise chickens to adulthood. Now it takes only 6 weeks because of the steroids. This, to me, explains the irrational behavior people are exhibiting while driving a car, for example, or in line at the movies. Then, because they are not feeding the cows their natural diet they have to give them antibiotics to keep them from getting ill until they are prepared for out table. Antibiotics kill the good bacteria in your intestinal track. You need to eat fermented foods like yogurt to get that back into balance. Any imbalance in your body will create a state of depression. Organicly raised animals are more humanly raised and have less disease.

Start drinking at least your body weight in ounces a day. That would mean that if you weigh 100 lbs you should drink 100 ounces of water every day. Water is what our body runs on. It flushes your body of toxins and helps your body run more efficiently. Every cell in your body uses water and drinking it is one of the most important things you can do for your body.

There are a couple of supplements that you can take that will help you have a more uplifting experience. One is St. Johns Wort. This is not only an antidepressant but it is also a natural antibiotic. I put a website below for you to visit that is a book about St. Johns Wort. You don't have to buy the book. Just click on the chapter you want to read and the chapter will come up. There is another herb that has been used through the centuries as a stress relief sedative and that is Holy Basil. I put a couple of websites about that down there as well. These supplements can help you lift your mood without any adverse effects.

Cut out white processed sugar in your diet. This mimics depression by giving you a peaked manic/euphoric state and then the extreme lows when it wears off. Check your labels when purchasing things in the store. It will be difficult to find things w/o sugar in them. This society is addicted to it. I compare sugar to cocaine. Think about it. How do you get cocaine? You boil the cocaine leaves down until you get a fine white powdery substance. How do you get sugar? You boil down the sugar cane until you get a fine white powdery substance. Whatâ??s the difference? The difference is one is legal and the other is not. They are both bad for us when taken in such condensed quantities. There are other sweetners out there that react better in our bodies such as Agave. This is a cactus juice. It has a slight caramel taste to it and it is 30 Xs sweeter than sugar. It is also thick like honey. Diabetics can have it because it doesn't spike the insulin levels. I've also included a website on sugar below as well.

I hope this helps to put you on the road to a more healthy and effective emotional improvement.

I realy realy need some help. My friend has been cutting herself, and i don't know what to do to help stop her. She did stop, when she was dating this guy, she said "he made me feel beautful". I realy realy want to help her, but i don't kno how. I tried to get stop, but she won't listen to me. Also she's not afriad of cutting herself, because one of her friends, friend died from cutting herself, and my friend kno's this. I realy realy want to help her stop. But i don't kno how. I also think that her mom is to blame, because her mom calls her ugly and fat. But my friend isn't, shes really pretty, and weights only 102, and her weight is dropping. So i can't tell her mom, because her mom won't help....

I do apologize for not getting to you sooner. I've had a lot going on lately and have not been able to work on my column. I have to start this off by saying that I really feel the pain of what you must be experiencing. I know this has to be quit frightening to you. Your friend is acting out. She is not getting the emotional support and guidance that she needs at her age. Her mother is emotionally abusing her. It's obvious that her mother has experienced some pretty dysfunctional behavior from someone herself, but this doesn't matter. She's an adult and needs to get a grip on things. This is her daughter and that should be the most important thing in the world to her. It is my opinion that people should not have children unless they are willing to give 200% of their time to raising, guiding and taking care of them. If a person can't do that then they should not have children. People are all too often having children w/o understanding the HUGE responsibility this is. I have expressed this opinion because I want people to understand the importance of raising children. I wish I could give you a game plan or an exact way to help your friend through this terrible ordeal. The problem here is neither you nor I am equipped to handle this kind of emotional trauma. You have to get the authorities involved. I know that sounds harsh, but it is the only way you can help your friend. There are no magic words and no boyfriend is going to help her in a permanent way. If she goes to school with you then I would go to your parents, school councilor or principle. I would let them know what is going on in your friend’s life. This is a very serious matter and if someone does not intervene your friend could do something everyone would regret. I realize it's not the cool thing to do to go to adults and tell what is going on you young peoples life. The problem here is it is life threatening. Being quiet here and something happens to your friend, you will never get over that. You will regret it. I am really interested in what happens and am concerned. You are welcome to contact me again and let me know what happens. I’ve also included some websites that might help you and your friend. Good luck to you and your friend.

my best guy friend and i have been friends for about three years. we r in grade six.before i thought we were just really good friendss but now i think the he likes me! lots of his friends say that too but i dont no if i should believe them! What should i do?

I don't mean to sound flip or anything, but you can ask him. He has been your friend for 3 yrs. Don't let the fear control your life. Take a look around you. You can see all kinds of adults who never achieved their dreams because they let fear control their actions. If you can start practicing "working through your fears" now your life will be limitless in what you can accomplish. Starting this when you are young will give you a chance at an amazing life to come. One way I work through my fears is whenever I have a list of things to do the one thing I fear most or you could say want to do least is the thing I do first. You see, we packge fear up into all kinds of packages, such as, I don't like that, they are strange, I won't do it, that is ugly, she's such an idiot, I don't like how she dresses, etc. You get the idea. If you start facing your fears and working through them you will be surprised at how easy it is and how little it really hurts. It is also empowering. Don't get me wrong, fear is there for a reason and you should take a look at where they are coming from, for example, you see a bear in the woods, I wouldn't go up and pet it. Do not ever put yourself into a life threatening situation to overcome fear. But your simple fear of not speaking to someone because you are afraid of what the other person might do or say...is a definate one to overcome. How I might approach this situation is I'd say something like, people are talking about us. They're saying that you like me more than just a friend. You say that in a light hearted fun voice. You could add; I know that I can't imagine my life without you in it, or, the best relationships are those that start off as best friends you know. I'm sure you two hang out a lot, so, timing is also everything. There will be a time when it will feel right to bring this up. Go with your instincts on this. You will know in your heart when it's right and what words would work best. If you miss that window of opportunity (because of fear) you will have to wait for the next one. When fear has overpowered you ask yourself this question: What is the worst that could happen. In this situation it could simply be that he says he cares about you as a friend, but that is as far as it goes. If that is where it stands than at least you will know and can move on to better pastures ahead. You will feel much better once you know one way or the other. But, wonder if it is true and he does have stronger feelings for you....definately worth the risk. If he just wants a friendship for now, it could be because he is living in the fear and is afraid to tell you, so don't let it put you off. Just maintain the friendship with him and let him approach you when he is ready. But most importantly no matter what his answer, always be his friend. Don't be angry with him if he doesn't respond the way you hope he will. This will show him what a good mature friend you are and he may even see you in a different light. Remember, he has to have some kind of positive feeling for you or he wouldn't have been your friend for these past 3 years. Good luck!

KEEP IN MIND THIS IN TEXAS. my girl ("wiwi") got kicked out the house by her momma than she change her mind all of a sudden. "wiwi" was kind of happy for her momma kicking her out the house because she has been CHILD ABUSE by her for a long period of time to the point the family had to get counciling, social worker, and a check up on momma. last year wiwi got beaten up by her momma to were she had a sissor. she got beaten up so bad and it left her in not so good conditions. this year it starting to begin so she wants to stay out the house. she's 17 and 6 months year old. my question is that if her momma were to kick out the house and she left can the law do any thing to wiwi? is it true that once u are 17 and 6 months year old the police can't force u back home is your decion from than on (once momma kicked her out)? is there any law that can help her out not to return home? NOW KEEP IN MIND THIS IS IN TEXAS. how can i help her???

Well, that depends on which country you are in. If you are in the United States then she is old enough to stay out of the house if she wants to. She can petition the court and have herself emancipated. She's so close to being 18 that they will probably grant it. Going this legal route will not get her mother into trouble and will free your friend to do whatever she wants as far as living arrangements are concerned. Also, you might help your friend find some group that she can go to that will be support for her like Alanon. These people have usually suffered the same sort of abuse your friend has. They will be able to be some support for her in the emotional since. Good luck to you and your friend.

My hair is really long. it goes to about mid-back and it's a darkish brown. frizzy, but i'm working on it, lol. I'm going to a really formal event (dress, make-up, the whole 9 yards) and i'm clueless on what i should do w/ my hair. It needs to stay together and pretty for a long time. Any ideas? If you know any sites that would give me a step-by-step guide to an awesome hair style, that'd be fantastic! Thanks!!!

The best way I've found to come up with new hair styles is to go to the grocery/book store and pick up a hairstyle magazine. There are a lot of them out there and they go through each step as to how to reproduce the hairstyle. There is also one website I found that could be of some help and they do go through step-by-step instructions and it is listed below. What is great about it is it is a British web site. The Brits are famous for coming up with the newest and most inventive hairstyles. Good luck and I hope you find just the right look you are looking for.
