Ok, so I have hightop converses, and I want to wear them friday, but the only thing is whenever i walk, they make like this weird rubbery noise, sounds like a farting noise actually. Anyone know any ideas on how to fix that? Thanks.

If it was your feet sweating and sliding around you'd probably know if that was the cause. If that's what it is, as said before, just wear thicker socks. I've had to do that. If that isn't the problem and it's the shoes themselves, if they're new, just wear them around at home to speed up the breaking in process. They will probably squeak for a little while until they get broken in. If you've had them for awhile and worn them quite a bit and they're still squeeking there's nothing you can do about it. I've had shoes that made a lot of noise before. They still do and it's irritating at times, but you'll get used to it after awhile. Good luck and I hope your shoes stop making noise soon!

has any one else noticed that most of the things asked on this site are not people seeking actual advice, it is just a bunch of people who are too um i guess "lazy" to type in google.com and search for the lyrics to a song, or where they can find a good website etc.,so they have to ask a bunch of people who want to give them advice and who may not even be right...hmm...

I agree with what you're saying. Things like lyrics or research for an essay are silly things to ask for. I think that those people are either obsessed with advicenators and ask 10 questions a week or they just want other people to do their work for them. However, a lot of the questions on this site are sex related. Typing anything that has anything to do with sex (including some lyrics and other seemingly harmless things) into a search engine isn't always a good idea. You never know what you're going to get and if somebody knows of a website such as coolnurse.com or knows the answer off the top of their head, there's much less risk in asking than trying to find it yourself. I'm not sticking up for what these people are doing, but just try brush it off instead of let it bother you. There's always a good reason behind what people do even if it's only in their own head.

I know that I'm a girl and sorry in advance, but I can answer your question really well. When I started dating my boyfriend he was shocked that I didn't play video games. He taught me how to use the controllers and we play together all the time. He wanted me to be a part of something that he liked. So, I would say that it's cool.

I go to a school thats about.. 40% black/minority. I'm a 17 y/o senior in highschool and many of my friends are black (I'm white).. and many of tha guys I've dated are black. I listen to mainly "black" music, but I don't discriminate, its just what I know. But my uncle is soo racist and ALWAYS harrasses me. He calls me n-lover (you know) and does tha dumbest things like knocking on tha front door and saying "Chelsie, its an N, better come get tha door!"..hes so immature. My mom always yells at him when shes around (a lot of her friends are black too), but I dont live w/ her and shes hardly ever around.. I live w/ my grandparents and they dont say anything to him about it. He just makes me so angry b/c he comes around a lot and acts like hes better than black folks but hes NOT.. he doesnt take care of his kids and he has a 6-year old daughter who hasnt even started school yet which is ILLEGAL! Ugh, hes gay. I cant stand him. I just dont know what to do about him. He always says stuff like "I know this girl who would kick your ass for $20".. thats hilarious to me. One time I told my (black) friends cousin about it (hes 27) and he ended up coming to my house when my uncle was here and trying to get him to come outside so he could fight him.. and what did my uncle do.. NADA! Stayed inside like a little -----! well.. yea, what should I do about him.. I just feel like shooting him. LOL. Sorry.. long rant.

There's not much you can do about it. There will always be people like that. Just look forward to the time when you move on to college or work and you don't have to put up with him anymore. You could get back at him a little by telling your guidance counselor that he hasn't sent his 6 year old to school yet. I'm not sure if that is the right place to go for that, but I'm sure it's a good start. Okay, so your uncle is living with his parents? That's pretty ridiculous. I think that your GRANDPARENTS are the ones that need to do something here. They can force him to get his own place. Talk to them. One more thing. I'm going to quote you directly. "Ugh, hes gay." Now, unless your uncle does in fact like other men, you yourself used a derogatory term. Whether you meant to or not, which I don't think you did, yeah it's right there in writing. i heard that brushing your hair too much will cause split ends so what can i do to not cause so many split ends other than trimming

Brushing your hair helps it much more than it hurts. If you're worried about split ends there are certain kinds of shampoo that help with split ends. It will say right on the bottle. Good luck!

Why do teenage girls with boyfriends feel to need to refer to their boyfriends' mothers as "mother-in-law"? ...Is that just the new "thing to do" now? Last time I checked, someone isn't your mother-in-law unless you were married to her son or daughter, not merely dating them in high school. To me it sounds really funny, "15/f like omg my mother-in-law blah blah blah"...ummm... no. So can someone explain this to me? It's really hard to take questions like that seriously. haha

Maybe they think it's cute or something. I think it's weird too, but sheesh...kids today. I remember when boom boxes were cool, nobody cared about social classifications, cable was the best thing ever, people used rotary phones, party line anyone?, nobody had an answering machine, and nobody had a home computer. Now you have to fight with the goths, the jocks, the preps, if you dress conservatively and don't have sex you're prude, you must own an iPod, you must own a cell phone, texting has gotten ridiculous, yeah it all just seems so silly. How are these kids going to turn out? I really wonder. Mother-in-LAW means exactly what it says, your spouse's mom, yours under the law. I don't get it either. I guess we're just old fashioned.

how do i get my hair scrunched? like that curly hair u see girls have. i dont want it like a wet scrnched though. and i want it to stick with all the humidity that we have in new orleans. my hair is like an inch below my sholders and i straghten it everyday and now im gettin sck of that look. k thx. 5's

My advice would be for you to visit a hair salon and get professional advice. They'll be able to see your hair and tell you what's best for you. Personally I would suggest that you get a perm. Nobody seems to be very open to that because they either think that perms are for old ladies or that they'll end up looking like Annie. I'm not sure, but that's not the case at all. It's just curly hair that lasts for months that doesn't need spray, gel, or anything like that. It's so easy to maintain and it looks great. Different sized curlers can make your hair all the way from just wavy, to having really tight curls. However, I don't know if this would work for you or if it's something you want to do. So again, talk to a hair stylist. Good luck!

I love books! I love to read, I'm 15, so I need some more good book suggestions. I like to sci-fi and fantasy books, and I love Nicholas Sparks. So, anyone got any good suggestions? 5's for good suggestions.

The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. The first book is called "The Eye of The World" and you can find it in the fantasy section of any bookstore. It's really popular. There are 11 books in the series now so it should keep you occupied for awhile. Good luck!

This is the story..(in short)

Sinds I have had problems with my mother in law(mother of my bf)She thinks I'm not ideal for her son ...(She is extremely jealous about her sons)We don't talk to each other anymore (I feel like I hate her )She went around gossiping about me and lie things about me just to keep his son away from me....I left all this behind and I'm really trying to get over this but sometimes i feel really quilty that the relationship between my bf and his mother has took a strange turn just because of me although my bf tells me that she did this types off things with his ex too.But now everytime he goes to see his mother I get like worried becuase I think maybe his mom would lie worse thiings about me or critize me to let my bf dissapoint in me..
This is not all beside this his ex is trying to get back with him...And I'm really worried about this too.., because I really want to be with him ...We have 1 year and 5 months togheter(realtionship is great)

If his mother can talk him into breaking up with you or if he leaves you for his ex you don't want to be with him anyway! He would be a real jerk to do something like that. It seems to me like you're not going to have that problem. It's been over a year and nothing has happened yet. That's a good sign. I think that he is very loyal to you and nothing outside of him is going to change his opinion that you are the best girl in the world for him. A guy's parents aren't always going to like you and vice versa. My mom hates my boyfriend. So far that hasn't influenced my opinion of him one bit and I've been going out with him just about as long as you've been with your boyfriend. Just as long as he likes you that's all that matters. Look up the lyrics to the song "Perfect" by Sara Evans. That may help you feel a little better. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Good luck!

She will tell you when she is ready and even if she doesn't this is about her not about you. If she doesn't want to tell you it's her choice. My guess is that it's not something totally serious or you would know about it already. What you need to do is just be there for her and support her because this is going to be a really hard time for her. Be sensitive to her wants, needs, and feelings. She needs you so be there for her and try not to worry so much about yourself. It can be really hard to think like that, I know, but you're her friend so try. I hope that everything goes well and that she does eventually open up to you. Good luck.

Im 13, female. And in the 7th grade.
I like a boy named Alex, Alex has a girlfriend named "Jessica" (THATS MY NAME ALSO, so you know.) & I have gym with alex and he always calls me "Jess" even though he thinks i cant stand it, (but i really do love it when he calls me jess) and like everytime i see him he just starts yelling "OMGOD ITS JESS, HIII JESS!!" all loud, and me and him act like we hate each other really bad, but we dont really "hate" eachother, and its kinda seems to me like its like how they used to tell you when your mean to somebody you really like them. But i dont know if he likes me. But see just yesterday i told him i couldnt stand him and he was like.. "aw common you can stand me!" and we like paused and stared at eachother. does it sound like he likes me?

Yeah it sounds like he may. However, don't do anything about it just yet because he has a girlfriend already. My boyfriend and I had that "funky chemistry", as someone put it, for 6 years before we had a chance to get together. You'll always have a connection with him, so it's not like you'll be missing out on your opportunity with him. Just wait for him to be single if he's worth it and go from there. Good luck!

hey,
my hands go red then purple in the cold and its embarrassing because people are like "Why are your hands red?" or "what has happened to your hands?" .
My brother's and sister's hands do the same but not as bad as me and i wondered if there was any way ( apart from gloves) that would bring them back to a natural colour when i go inside or stop them going red/purple in the slightest heat/cold.

Sorry, there's not much you can do. People like that really bother me though. I used to have pretty bad acne and sometimes people would come up to me and go "WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR FACE?!?!" I got so embarassed and always ended up just shrugging and walking away. It was obvious what was wrong. People should be a little more considerate of other people's feelings and less ignorant. There's nothing wrong with you and that happens to a lot of people. It's the jerks that are saying things about it that have the problem. The next time somebody says something to you about it, respond by saying something like "I have bad circulation, are you stupid or something? I mean duhhh". It's kind of mean, but you've gotta stick up for yourself. Likely they won't do it anymore after that. I never did that for myself, someone else actually did it for me and to this day I still have a lot of respect for him. I regret not saying something myself though. Saying something like that will definitely help you feel better. Don't worry about what other people say so much, they're usually just being dumb. Some people have little control over what they say. Hey I have the JBL On State speakers for the iPod. It hooks up with...I think an 18V adapter, plugged into the wall. My question is...I know there are ways to take the car charger adapter [the one that goes into the cigarette lighter] and plug that into something so you can then take that and plug it into a wall and have it work. Is there one like that that goes the opposite way, like you would be able to plug it into a car? Or is there any kind of portable battery source which you could carry around to plug in the 18V adapter into and have it work for a few hours. Thanks in advance, will rate.

My parents bought an adapter to use in the car a few years ago. It plugs into the cigarette lighter and has 2 outlets on it that you can plug just about anything you want into it. At the time it cost about $80, I'm not sure how much they cost now and there could be cheaper versions of them, but be assured...they do exist! Here is an example of one, sorry I couldn't find anything else. My suggestion for you is to go to Radio Shack or a similar store and ask for a DC to AC cigarette lighter adaptor.

well i was wondering what i should do with my hair! this is its color now (all the color i had before is almost faded out. my natural color is about the same just without the red tint and a little darker) does anyone have any ideas for a cut color anything? im open for anything but anything to drastic (like shaving it or dying the whole thing like white blond or green or something)

Wow, well I think your hair looks great the way it is! If you wanna do something new though, have you considered going curly? I think curls would look awesome on you. I would go with one or the other of the extremes though if you chose curls. Meaning either really tight curls or just ringlets. I used to get my hair permed and it looked great. Getting a perm is much easier than curling it every day and using all that spray. If you're not into that a messy bun would look good too. ohkay, so im like a reeeaalllly slow runner when it comes to ... running? i get 12 minutes on my miles and i dont know what im doing wrong. i weigh 110lbs. im not fat but not stickly skinny. can anyone tell me how i can run faster and make it easier for me to run without getting tired?

Try starting small. Here's a sample schedule for you. Don't follow it to the letter though, adjust it to fit what you want to and are able to do.

Week 1-2:
2 quarter miles with 10 min. rest in between
goal: under 1 min 30 sec each

Week 3-4:
1 quarter mile, 1 half mile with 15 min. rest in between
goal: 3 min half mile, 1 min 20 sec quarter mile

Week 5-6:
2 half miles with 20 min. rest in between
goal: 3 min. each

Week 7:
1 mile
goal: 7-8 min.



Another route you can take is starting big.

Week 1-2:
2 mile
goal: 20 min

Week 3-4:
2 mile
goal: 18 min

Week 5-6:
2 mile
goal: 16 min

Week 7:
mile
goal 7-8 min


Remember that it is very important to STRETCH. Stretch a lot before and after your workout. It's also important to warm up and cool down. Jog around a little to loosen up before you begin. Remember also, that it's not going to happen overnight. You need to be patient and dedicated. The best thing that you can do is join your school's track team. That way you don't have to make up a schedule or work to stick with it. Your coach will do all of that for you. I used to be terribly slow and after joining track I got to be pretty darn fast and still am. Anyways I hope that I helped you and good luck! :)

okay so i just now found out that i am a B instead of an A cup size... how can i get my mom to buy me new bras?? im shy about this whole changing into a woman thing.. so is there a way i could convince her to take me? cuz i mean she always rubs it into my face and acts like she is totally blank about the whole me being a B.. it makes me feel uncomfterble..

Go with her and pick them out yourself. If she picks up an A say "this one will fit better" and pick up a B. Or say "I'd rather have this one". Something like that. She'll get the point and you won't have to explain the whole thing. Another idea is to tell her that you feel uncomfortable about it and ask if you can go pick them out yourself and meet up with her at a different place in the store. Yet another idea is when she picks out an A say I think I should try it on. Come out and say "hey it's too small". There's lots of things you can do. I'd say find a game that you like. I've gone through lots of different phases of liking different games and presently I'm into something called RuneScape. I don't know how old you are, but do you remember the really old school Oregon and Amazon Trail games? It's very similar to those, but it's set in medeival times. You get to fight, make armor, fires, food, all kinds of stuff. Most of the other people you see in the game are real people that are playing from all over the world. I can see how it may get kind of old after awhile, but it will definitely keep you occupied. Go to http://runescape.com/. Okay so i am a 16year old female. and heres my situation. ive only gotten my period like 3-4 times in my life. and they havent been in consecutive months. the closest its ever been to consecutive was dec 2004 and january 2005. and the time after that was june 2005 then i didnt get it until my last period which was january 2006. my main question is...does my very irregular period mean that i am not ovulating like i should be and could it effect whether or not i will be able to have children when im older? dont get the wrong idea its not that i want a kid now or anything. but i do want a family in the future and this i just freaking me out. any advice/information anybody could give me will be much appreciated. thanks.

You're stll not quite old enough to expect a regular period. Mine actually didn't become regular until my freshman year in college when I was no longer on a sports team. I got it a little more often than you in high school, but I did miss it a lot. If you're very active your period can be affected by it. Tons of other things can affect it too. Your body may not have adjusted to the new hormones yet. Give it some more time. This isn't something to worry about just yet. For now, just be happy that your period isn't something you have to deal with as often as most other girls. If you get yearly physicals (which you should) your doctor already knows that it's not regular because they're supposed to ask that. If your doctor doesn't know, then tell, but again, it's not a problem just yet. In the future, when and if you decide to have children and you still miss lots of periods, I'm sure that all you'd have to do was take some fertiliy drugs. I hope I helped and good luck.

okay, well my friend got fingered for the first time the other day and now she's been worrying about it. she think's that she is pregnant but i'm telling her that she can't be because it's totally impossible because she didn't have sex or anything. and she hasn't gotten her period and she's 2weeks late. i told her that i think it's because she doesn't have a regular period, because she hasn't had it for over 2years and normally that's when it starts getting regular. her boyfriend only fingered her, she didn't do anything to him so i'm really not sure what to tell her except that she isn't pregnant. what do you guys think?

PS. when she got fingered after she bled alittle, and i told her that maybe he scratched her or something because you never know.

Stress can make you miss your period. If she's worried about it, that can cause it not to come! Tell her not to worry. Unless the guy was touching himself and then her with the same hand, she can't be pregnant.
