umm...ya

Question Posted Sunday February 26 2006, 12:43 am

has any one else noticed that most of the things asked on this site are not people seeking actual advice, it is just a bunch of people who are too um i guess "lazy" to type in google.com and search for the lyrics to a song, or where they can find a good website etc.,so they have to ask a bunch of people who want to give them advice and who may not even be right...hmm...
yes, i know i may be being a little hypocritical right now by asking a question, but i am just um.."upset" that young people these days just cant simply go to the lovely site of google..o well does anyone agree with me on this one?

I totally agree with you on that. Especially when people are asking what this song is called, it's easy to type the lyrics into google and find the song. Especially when the person knows haft of the song, anyways?!

I also hate it when people want you to do their homework for you. Psst, sorry. Don't you listen in class? It's not our job to look up your essay information, sorry, but no thanks.

And then, people that ask a question, but already have the answer to their question, then rate you low because that's not what they wanted to hear. If they didn't want advice, don't bother asking, y'know?

Phew, I got that out of my system. But, yes, I totally agree with you. Ahem on that. ♥

I definitely agree with you. It would save a lot of us some time if people just googled it themselves.

But I don't think that you should say "young people these days..." Because its not all of us. I always try and make an effort to google something before asking. Normally when I google it enough I find my answer so there is no need to ask.

I agree with what you're saying. Things like lyrics or research for an essay are silly things to ask for. I think that those people are either obsessed with advicenators and ask 10 questions a week or they just want other people to do their work for them. However, a lot of the questions on this site are sex related. Typing anything that has anything to do with sex (including some lyrics and other seemingly harmless things) into a search engine isn't always a good idea. You never know what you're going to get and if somebody knows of a website such as coolnurse.com or knows the answer off the top of their head, there's much less risk in asking than trying to find it yourself. I'm not sticking up for what these people are doing, but just try brush it off instead of let it bother you. There's always a good reason behind what people do even if it's only in their own head.

Totally. Some people actually have the answers to their question in their question. Get it?
For example, some lazy person would type:
What are the warning signs for yeast infection?

Google: warning signs for yeast infection.

It pisses me off how dumb & dunzo they can be..But you know, it`s an easy 5. So it`s all good. :]

You are completely right. Honestly, the best defense against these questions is to have no one answer them. This may not be possible but if very few people answer they will go away. MFS used to have a site called justfuckinggoggleit.com but I checked a few days ago and it wasn't up. Hopefully if they get fewer answers they'll realize they can do their work themselves.
