DarkDesire23 answered Saturday February 25 2006, 1:58 pm: nope brushing dosent cause split ends, there could be some breakage if there is a huge huge knot in your hair, but thats it.shampoos and conditioners can to the trick.i had split ends from straightening my hair to much,so the two types of shampoos i use are pantine and fruitics(get them at and cvs, wallgreens, brooks)look for the ones that a specail for split ends.you'll have to use is on a regular basis for a while, but it has good results.hmm...the reasons why i told you about these and not what other people have told you about is because they might be a lot of much where these are cheap!Unfortunatly all of these formulas are only temporary and trimming is the only was to compleatly deminish split ends.also it depens on what kind of brush.i use a soft bristel brush because my hair is layerd/wavy.never use bristle brushes on thick/curly hair.the brush most people use is when the soft bristle and hard bristle combine-which works great one any hair.
i hope i helped!!

carlyx answered Saturday February 25 2006, 12:02 am: the only way brushing your hair can cause split ends is if you do it when you're hair is wet. my advice: try combing it when its wet, and if youre hair is in serious need of repair.. try V05's hot oil hair care treatment. its an instant fix for healthier hair! LM answered Friday February 24 2006, 11:54 pm: brushing your hair does NOT cause split ends.. but straightening excessively can (trust me)
Use a shampoo that repairs damage, because then it will.. repair damage? haha sorta obvious. My hairstylist has me use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny serum (it protects your hair from the elements and will lessen the damage on your hair when you flatiron/blowdry/curl) And for shampoo she has me use BedHead Moisture Maniac. I'd ask whoever does your hair for what they recommend, but the above products I suggested have worked wonders for me. Good Luck!
VainTaraLynn answered Friday February 24 2006, 11:13 pm: Brushing your hair does NOT give you split ends !! Its good for your hair and keeps it healthy & shiney. If your still worried about it though, theres some shampoo's and conditioners that cut down on split ends! Look in your shampoo section at a store haha and see if you can find some. I cant think of any names off hand but I know brushing so does not cause split ends, its from hair growth, and the dead ends that cant grow anymore, jeeze. haha [ VainTaraLynn's advice column | Ask VainTaraLynn A Question ]
