I entered high school going from an very small private school to a very large public high school (70 kids versus around 4000 kids) I knew it would be a big transistion, and would take some getting used to, but about a week and a half into it, I hate it so much. I spend most of my nights crying and I don't think I can bear it much longer. I don't know anyone but I have some people to talk to, but its just not the same as my other close friends. I just feel like Im completely lost, and not where I belong. No other people I know seem to feel this way. They say it'll get better but I can't see that happening. What can I do? If I really said I hated it, my parents would let me transfer, but I don't even know where to go. Theres a smaller catholic school closeby that I liked when I visited, but Im still unsure. My state has a lot of private high schools, but about that I am unsure also. (I live in Pennsylvania, my zip code is 19054)

Can someone please give me some kind of advice? Ideas? Something, because Im close to breaking.

same thing happened to me halfway through my sophomore year... it sucksss but it does get better eventually. you'll meet some cool people to hang out with later on. and trust me, theres a lot of people that feel the same way. try talking to some of the quiet kids..
if you do have a choice of changing to the private school, by all means do it. my friend lives in easton... she just moved there and started going to that are high school and she changed to notre dame after the first day because it was so bad. at least at a smaller school you'll have more of a chance to know people better.
stay positive... hang in there. i know it sucks and trust me, i wanna cry everyday too but you'll find something you like there.

im a girl and i feell like the hair on my upper lip is really dark and noticeable. Nobody has ever said anything but i feel like there always looking at it, so what is the best way to get rid of it should i bleach it? who do u do it? and is it something i have to buy or are there home remedies.

bleach it... use sally hansen's hair bleach. it works like a charm and its pretty cheap. if you really want to, you can get an at home waxing kit but i wouldnt recommend it as much as the bleach.

when i was 14 i was an A also... i wore underwire bras that had a little bit of padding in them so they looked more mature. after i gained some weight and grow up i ended up being a 36B/34C so really don't freak out... they will keep growing!

I'm in Alg 2, and my teacher constantly picks on me to go to the board & do problems. I didn't learn ANY Alg 1, so this is kind of confusing. Everytime I go to the board, I go up and say 'I have no idea how to do this' and my teacher just goes, 'come to tutorials'. But then she still makes me do the problem, and I get completely embarrassed. There's 43 kids in this class, we had 7 problems to do on the board, and she made me do 4 of them. I think she knows that I don't know how to do them so she just picks on me. I don't think embarrassing me is going to help me learn. What should I do?

I would suggest going to one of the tutorials so she can see that you're not just doing it to look cute for the boys... some teachers are just like that. you could talk to her about it after class and make an effort to at least look like youre really trying by being on time, having everything with you and going to tutorials/asking questions. she should stop picking on you after that. if you need anything else, let me know. i had a horrrrible algebra teacher.

i'm 5'10 and 160 lbs and i play basketball year-round

is it better for me to drink water or gatorade during practices and games?
i want to lose 10 lbs so which one is better to drink?
i read that gatorade gives more energy and i'll have a little more endurance than the water. but which is one better?

I used to do a lot of sports and what i did was have water [for when i was out] and propel water for when i needed a boost. i really think propel is better for you than gatorade.

Is it better to have the guy you love for just one night, or not at all?

That's pretty much the choice I have to make. I can either be with him for one night, or never be with him.

I don't know what to do, I don't want to fall for him more and then just have to give him up, but I don't want to regret not being with him, even if only for a night.

He doesn't do exclusive relationships.

Not at all... actions have consequences and since he's not into exlusive relationships...
you'll fall for him more if you do have him for a night so really, save yourself the heartache.

hi, well you cant smoke marihuana and drink alcohol at the same time can you? someone told me you cant, so how long would i have to wait after ive smoked the marijuana, to drink alcohol. thanks.

technically you can...but sometimes it has weird unpredictable affects on people so i wouldn't recommend it. i don;t waiting would really make a difference unless you wanna wait like 2 hours for the high to like end then start drinkin..

Ok, I'm 5'3 and 113 pounds and I'm in high school and I have a relatively nice figure except I only where a 34A in bras. Is there any way I can make them look a little bigger/better without stuffing them? I don't think my mom will buy me padded bras either. Thanks!

to make them look better, get underwire bras with a littttle bit of padding...[it could be just to cover up stuff that a sports bra cant] so just go bra shopping with your mom. they seel those bras really cheap in the little girls section up to a 36 A or you can try kohls or target. i got one at target recently... it's called a padded push up bra & it comes in white, pink and black but it's not really a push up.

My school picture day is next monday, and i was wondering if you had any tips.

Its my senior year, so my pictures going in the yearbook and its how im going to be remembered so i want to look good. Our rule is we have to wear either a blue or white collared shirt. We can wear any undershirt and do our hair however we want.

Which color would show up better? Blue or white?

What shirt should i wear under?

What looks better on film? Curly or straight hair?

About makeup, whats the best way to go? Eyeliner or not? Red lipstick maybe? Ihave no clue.

Any ideas would be appreciated so much!!

color underneath... whatever color looks best on you. if you're blonde with blue eyes, you could go with a blue shirt and a white one under. if you have dark hair/eyes and tan, white with green under it.
best hair is also about whatever looks better. if your hair looks like crap curly, wear it straight. ask your mom or people that know you really well and see what they think is best.
eyeliner is usually a good thing in pictures.
red lipstick might be too bright... wear something more natural. cover up blemishes and put a little blush on... not a lot. try to keep your face shine-free.

Ok my little sister needs to start shaving her legs, but she refuses because she's afraid of the razor cutting her and stuff. Is there anything I can say to her that will convince her to start shaving? She won't wax or use nair either. Thanks for any help you can give, I'd really appreciate it.

i have bras that fit me at home but when i go to victoria's secret and try on their bras i find out one of my breasts is smaller?? is there something different with their bras? i forgot what kind of bra i was looking at. i tried a size smaller and same problem..

Well it could be both things that are wrong. victoria's secret bras, for a lor of people, fit really weird. that, and it's normals for breasts to be different sizes during puberty. as long as you find bra's that fit somewhere, you're fine.

14/f I just got done doing a musical at a local teens summer theatre program and I got pretty close with my fellow cast members. I recently organized a group of kids from the show to take a subway out to the big city to go see a play together. Three people replied and said they wanted to go. Those three people are freshman, like me. However, my mom said needed an adult to supervise us once we get to the big city...meaning, to go see the play with us and walk us back and forth to the subway station. My director lives in the big city and he's the one who suggested the idea in the first place, so naturally I invited him to come along instead of a parent.

I was still a bit iffy about inviting the director, it might seem kind of awkward to have him in with a group of friends and people might think it spoils the fun. However, we still need an adult to come with us anyways, so it might as well be someone that everyone knows, right.......?

Anyhow, after I made my arrangements with the director, another girl in the cast emailed me and said she could come. I just discovered that she just became legally an adult, and we don't need the director to come because she's already technically an adult. However, I'm not really sure what I should do about the director. I'm sure the other kids would rather not have a much-older person around, yet I'm worried it would be rude to un-invite my director, especially because I know he had big insecurities about whether the cast liked him or not. What would you guys do?

I would keep the director in the group. it has a lot of benefits actually. Although the one girl is "technically an adult", she's still young. she might not know her way around as well.
if you keep the director you would:
-have a local that could help you around.
-have parents not worry about where you are.
-get to know the director better so you get good parts in future shows.
-so you're not rude...

I am 14 and I am a girl.

If you open up the "lips" of my vagina, there is a foul smell, and discharge, so I know I have a bacterial Infection (sp?). I really do not want to go to the doctor, or tell my mom. My mother and I are not that close, and I don't want to tell my doctor either. I am not sure how I am suppose to wash my vagina. Am I suppose to take soap and stick it in the whole that the penis enters? How do I clean that out? Do I take soap and clean the inside of my vagina lips?

For my infection can I use:

Triamcinolone acetonide?
Ketoconazole cream 2%?
Triple Antibiotic Plus Cream?


If no to any one of those, what can I use?


If yes, witch one should I use? How many times a day? For how long? and do I put in where the penis enters the vagina, or the lips?

As for waching it, you're only supposed to wash the outside...the lips, if you will. no sticking soap up there! that could cause all sorts of problems.
Don't use any of those up there! especially not triple antibiotic...
How long has this "infection" been going on? if its only been a day or 2, let it be. if it doesn't pass, either get Monistat [Over the counter, i believe it's for those problems] or go to your family doctor.

My wife and I have not had sex in over a year. I'm 31, and she is 39, soon to be 40 in November. We both were virgins when we married so we had no prior sexual experiences. Almost every time we tried having sex, she said she hurt very badly. Sometimes I wouldn't even be touching her, and she said it felt like I was stabbing her with a knife in her privates. We went to a doctor earlier this year, and after an exam, the dr. determined that a muscle just inside the vagina-I can't remember its name-wasn't "stretched out" like it should be, and after it was, the pain should stop. She prescribed some lidocane gel and told my wife to put it on and just up inside her vagina about 10-20 mins. before sex, and it would numb her so she wouldn't feel any pain in that spot. I even tried some of it on myself on a bug bite one night, and it numbed it so that I could not feel where it itched me. She never has tried the medicine, and every time I bring it up, she either changes the subject, or just says she thinks something else is wrong and doesn't agree with what the dr. said. I said try going and getting a 2nd opinion, but she never has given me an answer. Our 5th anniversary is coming up the 28th of this month, and we're going away for the weeekend. I'd really like to get this problem solved by then, and I think we both would be much happier if it were and we could enjoy our vacation that much more. Also, we are still intimate with each other...I kiss her on her breasts sometimes, and she likes it, and once we were "wrestling" and she accidently hurt my penis, and she "kissed it to make it feel better," and we both enjoyed it, but she just seems uninterested or nervous about trying intercourse again. What can we do to resolve this, and how can I bring up without hurting her feelings, that I'm feeling deprived sexually?

I think she might have some emotional issues regarding her problem. She could be embarrassed or ashamed or it or knows she won't get any pleasure from it, so why bother. You could ease her into it and maybe make the lidocane cream something less "medical" and you put it on her while you're getting her in the mood. Tell her she is beautiful and stuff that will make her feel wanted without making yourself sound like a hornball. I hope it all works out for you!
