Infection

Question Posted Saturday September 1 2007, 2:03 pm

I am 14 and I am a girl.

If you open up the "lips" of my vagina, there is a foul smell, and discharge, so I know I have a bacterial Infection (sp?). I really do not want to go to the doctor, or tell my mom. My mother and I are not that close, and I don't want to tell my doctor either. I am not sure how I am suppose to wash my vagina. Am I suppose to take soap and stick it in the whole that the penis enters? How do I clean that out? Do I take soap and clean the inside of my vagina lips?

For my infection can I use:

Triamcinolone acetonide?
Ketoconazole cream 2%?
Triple Antibiotic Plus Cream?

If no to any one of those, what can I use?

If yes, witch one should I use? How many times a day? For how long? and do I put in where the penis enters the vagina, or the lips?

NEW INFO: This problem should not have been left untreated for months. That is simply foolish. I'm not a doctor so I cannot tell you what it is or what I think it is as only they can make a diagnoses. Bottom line you need to have this medically treated embarassing or not. It's the mature, responsible and only way to go.

OLD INFO:

We haven't established that you have an infection really. You have a fishy smell from what you stated. If there is discharge that is greenish or cottage cheese like and burning sensation or itch it could be an infection.

Do you have an older female you can trust ie a sibling, friend, cousin, aunt, grandma or friend's mom? If so you could tell them what's bothering you and ask if it's normal and what to do. That's one option.

No matter what do not try to clean your vagina out with soap, creams (unless prescribed) or anything else. Why? your vagina is a self-cleansing organ and putting soaps etc. in to it only causes more problems and or infections.

I don't know what is more embarassing here either telling your mom or suffering needlessly. The longer you let this thing go the worse it can become for you.

While you are not close to your mother you can approach her and tell her you are having a "female problem" and need to see a gynocologist. If she asks why tell her it's too embarassing for you to discuss easily.

Your mom was a girl once and most likely in your situation she will understand. As for the doctor they've seen millions of vaginas, penises etc in their profession. They're not concerned with yours other than keeping it healthy.

The doctor will walk you through everything they are going to do before they do it and a female nurse will be present. It may not be pleasant to go through but once it is over you'll feel ten times happier.

As for waching it, you're only supposed to wash the outside...the lips, if you will. no sticking soap up there! that could cause all sorts of problems.
Don't use any of those up there! especially not triple antibiotic...
How long has this "infection" been going on? if its only been a day or 2, let it be. if it doesn't pass, either get Monistat [Over the counter, i believe it's for those problems] or go to your family doctor. <3
EDITTTT:
what i was tryin to say was you can't put any of those 3 things on the lips....soap only beacuse you might not have an infection and those are not meant to be used there at all.

DO NOT PUT SOAP THERE.....it is important to keep that area clean so you might want to purchase a soap especially for that called sweet spot.. your 'infection" might not really be bad enough to tell the Dr. or your mom if you nip it in the bud and clean it now. this could also mean you are about to get your period if you have not already
