once a class is over, and the report cards are out and youre at home during the summer.. is it possible to argue with a teacher about it the following school year? or how about from an year ago?

You could, but you probably won't get anywhere. It's the teacher's word over yours. The grades are pretty final unless there was a mistake. Good luck this year in school.
