Hey Matt :)
I've been dating an AMAZING guy for three months, but he still thinks I'll be leaving him for someone better than him.

It's getting ridiculous. How can I convince him that I won't be leaving him for one of his friends and whatnot?

Did he go through experiences of abandonment when he was younger? Does he apply this "anything can go away at any time" philosophy to other things in his life?



If so, he'll need therapy to get over this, and no amount of convincing will fix his strange thoughts.



Leave it to me to connect all of this to brain related issues and abandonment, right? This is probably a worse case scenario, because I don't know anything about this guy.

Tell him all this reassuring stuff about how he's the only guy for you, you'll be with him forever, you'll stick with him through thick and thin, even though we both know that's BS and is a total lie, but at least you can say you tried. Ok, my name is Brenda, and here's the situation (it's a bit complicated, please try to follow along.) Ok, my friend Tracy likes a boy named Chad, and she thinks he likes her too. However, I know he likes my other friend Sandy, and she told me that he asked her out (but she said no because she doesn't like him). Anyway, Tracy was getting so wrapped up in him that I told her "I think he might like Sandy because he keeps asking her out." She's mad that I told Tracy her business, and she thinks I only used her for information. I'm sorry that I told Tracy, but I don't think it's a big deal. Anyway, now she's mad at me. You should not betray a friend that told you something in confidence. Obviously, she didn't literally tell you to not blab it to Tracy, but your rudimentary social skills should have picked up on it.



You'll probably have to wait a couple of weeks before she forgives you. Try learning from this social blunder.

A 4.0 GPA isn't going to cut it. You'll need at least a 4.4, which means you'll need to take AP courses to boost your GPA(Advanced Placement classes. At least that's what it's called here in CA.



And join clubs, do community service, etc.

Okay. so in school one day i was feeling really bad so i asked to go to the nurse. well i really went to my locker cuase i had advil in my locker. Well my teacher went to the nurse and freaking asked her if i went. I am in some deep dodo. I made up this lie and my friends told me to forge a signature. And i am not doing this. So i am writing a note to him telling him the truth. I really dont want to get in trouble cuase i didnt mean to do anything wrong. help!

Yea, telling your teacher the truth is probably a good route here. If he doesn't understand, then he's just looking to stretch his muscles and show some power like an asshole. If he punishes you in some way, you could always take it up with your parents.



But good job for not falling for the terrible idea your friends came up with. :)

If I open and close my jaw, it randomly cracks or pops. It isn't loud [I'm probably the only one who can hear it] and it doesn't hurt at all whatsoever. People told me to look up TMJ. I don't really have any TMJ symptoms except one or two. I'm going to the oral surgeon in a few weeks for a wisdom teeth checkup so I can ask the doctor about it then. I'm just a bit worried because I thought it wasn't too serious since it wasn't painful and it never stopped me from chewing or anything like that. Has anyone had this and if so, what is it?? Thanks!!

I have the exact thing you have, and when I looked up TMJ, I only had a few of the symptoms. My clicking doesn't hurt either, and the idiotic idea that if it doesn't hurt don't fix it, is insane. It doesn't hurt because of your cartilage; it's blocking the bone on bone contact. However, because your jaw is now out of place, this cartilage is going to run down because of the new position until you get bone on bone contact, which is going to hurt like a bitch and will result in a need for surgery.


Now, what you should do about it. Talk to your dentist about it, but if your dentist tells you not to worry about it (like mine did) talk to a new one. Find a dentist that specializes in the jaw. That's what I did, and I now have a mouth guard to wear at night which is supposed to reset my jaw. Believe me, the clicking is not normal and will only get worse, until your jaw beings locking up for long periods of time (like mine does now).

I was around 7 when my brother n law started talking to me about sex and little kisses here and there began, the touching started around 10 or 11 and then all the way when i was 12,i told my sister a few years later when i was about 14, she promised she would not hate me and things between us would not change, we were so close even though she is more then 10yrs older, but she lied when i was 18 it finally came out to the whole family, and i was told to deal with it i couldn't stand to be around him, but they said deal with it.so i've tried, at his son's funeral i felt sorry for the bastard, i went to hug him and he held me tight and said do you know how many beautiful women have hugged me tonight god help me i thought i'd die.i;ve tried shrinks and its all still in my head, how do i get my sister to love me again?shes convinced it never happened, and i just want it all to go away, it has been over 15 yrs of hell, any advice much appreciated.

It is impossible for you to find peace after being molested during childhood all on your own. Not improbable. Impossible. You MUST receive help from a qualified professional to help you bring up your repressed emotions and memories you went through and deal with them. When an adolescent is abused before 15, their brain is still developing and has the abuse written into the brain. I would bet my entire life savings that you are experiencing the results of this abuse today. Even though you've tried shrinks, you must continue trying until you find one that works for you and knows what they are doing.

this isn't textbook abuse but, my guy friend always has to make it known
that i am stupid, ugly or w/e. he makes it his priority to smack me in the

I dont understand why so many people have issues with immigrants coming here illegally. i mean what happened to the good ol american saying that its the land of the free? i mean if you lived a crap life in mexico and you were just looking for a better life in america.. doesnt it make sense to try and come here? i mean when people get granted to come here.. its not that easy. you could be told "no". then what are you gonna do? live a crap life there? When you say America is/was built on the foundation of immigrants, you are absolutely right. However, we are not built on a foundation of ILLEGAL immigrants that have come here unlawfully. A good deal of these people then mooch on welfare and the free schooling provided by tax paying Americans, all the while not paying taxes themselves. They are essentially living a life in the States for free, which cannot be tolerated, end of story. Giving licenses to illegal immigrants only encourages more illegal migration here.


Your ideas on the primary elections are incredibly faulty and skewed. When you say it's racists that aren't voting for Obama, you completely ignore Clinton. Why don't you want Clinton to win? The reality with the Canadian border is that Canadians do not WANT to get into the US because they are relatively happy with their country already. It is people from Latin America that are trying to get out of terrible countries, legally and illegally. The illegal problem cannot be brushed aside with an appeal to a common humanity. I don't see illegal immigrants bending over backwards to pay for the public schooling they receive.
