need a guy's advice here...

Question Posted Thursday March 13 2008, 6:53 pm

Hey Matt :)
I've been dating an AMAZING guy for three months, but he still thinks I'll be leaving him for someone better than him.

It's getting ridiculous. How can I convince him that I won't be leaving him for one of his friends and whatnot?

Matt answered Thursday March 13 2008, 7:05 pm:
Did he go through experiences of abandonment when he was younger? Does he apply this "anything can go away at any time" philosophy to other things in his life?

If so, he'll need therapy to get over this, and no amount of convincing will fix his strange thoughts.

Leave it to me to connect all of this to brain related issues and abandonment, right? This is probably a worse case scenario, because I don't know anything about this guy.

EDIT:

Tell him all this reassuring stuff about how he's the only guy for you, you'll be with him forever, you'll stick with him through thick and thin, even though we both know that's BS and is a total lie, but at least you can say you tried. (I was feeling bitter when editing, if you want a serious response, just hack off every after the third comma.)
