types of chickens

my mom was telling me about chickens she used to have that had big fluffs of feathers that stuck up on the top of their heads. she said they used to be known as hippie chickens. what kind of chicken would this be?

my mom said something like cochran but shes not sure because there are different types of chinken with big fluffs of feathers on their heads. sorry that i couldnt give you a specific answer.
