Girl who didn't live with her father?
lets say a girl doesnt have a father, or he left her or whatever reason right? and her mom only takes care of her when she grows up does anything changes her love life? cause i heard if a girl didnt live with the father goes for older men to search for a lost father's love or something like that does anyone know any facts about this?

Sometimes if the father was really awful to the daughter, she might look for guys when she's older with similar traits to her dad.


What you said is possible, but it's certainly not as black and white as you make it out to be. The fact of the matter is that things that happen in our youth affect the traits that we find attractive when we're older. That's why children that are abused typically become abusers themselves or go into abusive relationships.

Im fifteen, female. Just got held back for various health reasons so Im in the ninth grade again.

Would it be worth it to spend $40 dollars to get to New York to take this job as an extra? I'd get paid $150+ per day. but extras usually have very long hours. Also, I'm 16 so I'm starting school soon (September) where I probably can't do it other than Saturdays and Sundays...

If it's a for sure thing, not just a "I'm going to New York and hopefully I can be an extra!" then you should do it. I make 350 dollars a week for full time work, so 150+ a day sounds pretty lovely, no matter what you're doing.

As some of you may know first-hand, AP US History is a rigorous United States history course. It's essays, tests every week, and more essays, plus the midterm is known for being supremely difficult.

According to my friends who have taken it, APUSH (as we students so fondly call it) is hell on earth.

Our summer work for APUSH is: Six essays as well as a 1-page-long introduction to ourselves. Due 19th September.

But...I'm not sure if i want to do APUSH. Or rather, if APUSH is really a class for me. Because:

1. History is my least favorite subject.
2. I'm already taking Honors Math Analysis, Honors English III, and Honors Physics
3. I play varsity volleyball, track, and lacrosse
4. I'm in a lot of extracurriculars/volunteer programs
5. PSATs & SAT IIs, enough said
6. Last year, I tried taking on honors history too, but I had to drop it after a month because I wasn't used to all the work. If I had stayed, I most certainly would have failed the semester.


The problem is, I don't have another AP course on my schedule, and I really need to have one so my chances are higher for getting into Princeton University (or Columbia).

Also, I want to wait and see how APUSH is for myself. BUT, I don't want to do the essays and then end up dropping the class. Also I could not do the essays, but end up keeping the class, which would mean I would have to pull 6 essays from deep out of my ass in a tiny amount of time.

so..what is your opinion? should i take it or not? thanks a lot in advance!!

To take APUSH and do well in it, you have to WANT to take it. Taking the class because you feel you have to is not going to do you any good. If history is your least favorite subject, you will not like the class. And if you don't like a class where you have an insane amount of work in, you're not going to do well.


You list out six reasons of why you shouldn't take the class, but don't even bother listing reasons why you should take it.


Come on, you know the answer here. You just want to be told not to take it, so I will; don't take it.


However, if you ignore my advice (it's extremely slipshod most of the time, anyway), here are some links with notes you can use from each chapter. They're extremely useful and saved me hours of work, because I don't have any morals when it comes to copyng APUSH notes off teh internetz.

So I was put into the APUSH class for next year bc i had a 98 average in my CP class, and I am freaking OUT because ive been hearing rumors that APUSH is basically a synonym for HELL, with its many essays and intense midterms and finals (we even have to do 6 essays and write a 1-page-long single space introduction about ourselves by september 19)

if youve taken it, what are your experiences with the course?

also do you think i should take this class? i am prone to procrastination, i hate writing essays, and im an avid perfectionist so if i got under an 88 grade in the class i know ill be beating myself up about it. i dont even like history that much, but since i was rejected from AP Composition i dont have any other AP course on my schedule, which is bad since i want to go to Princeton, an Ivy League!! so should i just drop the course before i do all this summer work if i know i wont be 100% committed?

Heh, best class I ever took. But like all classes, it really depends on your teacher. It is a lot of work, but you learn about the country. If you don't like history, don't take it. Simple as that. Luckily, there are a ton of APUSH related internet resources out there, including notes for all the chapters, though it depends on your book. My school used the American Pageant 13th Edition, and just from that I was copying my notes for 3-4 different sites.

i just got a new laptop. i had a TON of pictures on my old laptop. i can't even tell you how many folders there were. i don't want to transfer them all to this computer, but i'd like to keep them somehow, without leaving them on my old laptop for the rest of eternity. and i don't want to have to print them all out. that would be time comsuming and expensive. i've been told cd's would be good, since they have a high capacity. should i go with this idea?

Why would you even tell him you did that? You didn't tell him to be honest and truthful; you told him because you WANT your relationship to fail and you're selfish.
