Hello! I am studying esthetics at an Aveda Institute after spending years in retail. I am proof that nothing turns out how you think it will, and that's a good thing. When you think you've got it figured out, you don't. Life would be boring otherwise, right?

My skin is really sensitive and the lace bra that i'm wearing isn't helping but it's the only one I have because bras these days were really expensive. I was going to try Wal Mart but I heard that they're really expensive. And for a teen my breast size is smaller than the average so bra sizes for me are hard to find.

Walmart is really cheap, but it's awful quality too. Try target, it's on average $10 per bra, which is about the cheapest you can find for decent quality.

Why do guys hate/not like when girls cry? For example, last night I was telling my best guy friend about something really upsetting, and he just kept saying, "Please don't cry, please don't cry." What makes guys always say that, like why does it upset tem when girls cry?

There's a few explanations.
1. It makes them uncomfortable. Guys aren't used to showing their emotions, so when someone else does, they don't know how to deal.
2. It embarasses them.
3. A lot of guys have a protective instinct, and he might feel like he has to protect you.

I guess it's just one of those weird differences between guys and girls...

HI there is a senior prom in May for the 8th graders what kind of dress would u reccomend for a 13 year old who has black hair about 5 foot and has dark tan color skin with dark brown hair?

For your skin tone, either a very light goldish/cream/light pink or something bright- red, plum, turquoise, etc. Avoid pastels.

I've got this amazing friend, John. I always joke around with him and everything with him and my best friend, Deanna, over the computer, but when it comes to actually hanging out.. it's a different story. While Deanna and I constantly are together, John only seems to want to talk to us when it's either conveniant for him, or when it's not in person.
For example, John, Deanna, our friend Alex and I all went to the movies to hang out. Well, Deanna, Alex and I all had a great time. We talked, laughed and everything, but John seemed to just completly be concentrated on the movie only, and when he wasn't, he was texting with some of his other friends. He pretty much didn't talk to us all until one of his newer friends met up with us at the therter..
He has made all these new friends, and I'm fine with him having friends, but he seems to be forgetting Deanna and I. He also seems to be more arrogant, because all of these girls happen to be alot prettier, and more popular than us.
He's just seemed to change.. and I really miss the old John, who I used to be able to joke around with, not having to worry about confrontation.
And I'm not flipping out all of a sudden, either.. This has been an on-going thing, and I've talked to him about it a few times. I don't pin blame or anything, but he's still not getting that he's not being the kindest person lately..

Please tell me what I should do.. I know not to push him away or anything, but.. what do I do to get everything like it used to be?

This could just be a phase. Let him know that it bothers you and you feel like he's forgetting you. If he doesn't respond, let him go for now. With any luck, he'll realize that he misses you guys, and if not...well, better to have lost a friend than have someone who's not a real friend.

I'm 17 years old, and my ex boyfriend is 15. We went out for a little bit and then my boyfriend broke up with me because he said he wasn't ready for a relationship and that we may get back together when he's ready for a relationship in the future. We'll a month went by and today me and him were talking about things and he told me he has been doing alot of thinking lately and maybe wants a girlfriend. First, I thought maybe he wants to get back together with me and then after he's like well.. i want to ask you something and tell you that i met another girl and she wants a relationship and i like her but i dont want to hurt you because i broke up with you cause i wasnt ready for a relationship and now i am and i dont have strong feelings for you anymore so would it bother you if i went out with her. It truely hit me like a brick and I told him "well what i dont understand is that why you would break up with me and then just get over me so quickly and now when your ready for a relationship and you dont want to be with me anymore?" after he looked sad and guilty and just stopped talking about it. my question is.. what should i try to say to him? and do you think i should try to get him back before he goes out with that girl? It seems like he still likes and respects you as a friend at least. Try to appreciate that he even told you- he didn't need to! I honestly don't think there's anything you can do to try to get him back. Tell him the truth- that it hurts you, and that you think you guys deserve another chance, but if he wants to date other people, it's his choice. Sadly there's nothing you can do to stop him. Just know that there are plenty of mature guys out there ready for a relationship, and that's what you deserve, not someone who doesn't even know what he wants.

last night my best friend called my cell phone at around 10 and told me that her mom has colon cancer. When I heard this i started crying because I know my friend and her mom are really close.
So my question is, what can I say to my friend? I mean i dont really even know how to react to this, its one of those things you never think will happen to you. Does anyone know what the chances that her mom will die are? Thank you so much

Let her know that you are always there for her if she needs to talk, and then drop it. Don't try too hard to be cheerful, but now is a good time to be really nice to her- buy her little gifts,bring over food if her mom is having a bad day, call her "just because". Also do not tell anyone else without asking her- not even your parents. I don't know the specific statistics but cancer is a lot more curable these days so she has at least has a chance, and sometimes that's all someone needs.

My bf is kind of startng to annoy me. he wont even look at me when i talk to him, im pretty sure he listens but it seems weird that he wont even look at me. and he wont just like stop and talk to me in the hallways, i always hav to start conversation. And today he like ignored me when i ran up to him. hes really not a shy person its just around me. And at first i thought he didnt like me anymore but he said he does. should i just dump him? i still like him but he acts weird sometimes and i HATE how he wont look at me!

It's not him being rude, it's just that he really likes you and that makes him shy. Personally I think it's cute but if it really bothers you tell him what you told us, that it makes you feel like he's not paying attention. But don't dump him.

There's a really really REALLY hott guy in my class...let's call him...tim. Well, Tim is a really popular guy who is really nice and well, HOT :)...basically, if you looked at him, your heart would melt...lol. And, well i'm not a popular person..It's not like i'm a total geek or anything but i'm not the most popular girl in my class...im just normal...

At my friend's halloween b-day party, my friend told him "You and Em would make a great couple...you should ask her 2 dance"...
Tim didnt ask me or anything so I thought that he didnt like me....

Since then, he's talked 2 me a little bit and I even saw him looking at me a little bit...does this mean he likes me? I doubt this but what do you think? He broke up with his girlfriend a while ago but at the party i saw them dancing together...

Should I give up now while I'm ahead? Any advice would be GREAT!!!

You can't tell by how he responded to what your friend said, even if he liked you he wouldn't say it to one of your friends. Your best bet is to try to talk to him. About classes, or the party, or TV, or anything really except yourself. If it seems like you guys get along well, maybe invite him on a group date and see how it goes from there.
Don't give up, but don't try too hard either.

Not a lot. Maybe a tiny bit of natural colored eyeshadow- maybe a light brown or something sheer that matches your outfit. A little bit of powder blush and mascara and some sheer lipgloss should do it. For nicer occasions, maybe a little tinted moisturizer, blush, eyeliner and lipgloss.

This morning I accidentally washed my Razr. It was submerged for over an hour, and when I took it out there weren't any scratches or anything broken off. But now it won't turn on. Is there any way I can salvage my phone, or will I have to get a new one? And if I do have to get a new phone, can I somehow use my old SIM card or is that destroyed too?

I don't know if it's too late, but this is what you're supposed to do when your phone gets wet:
Take off the battery cover and take out the battery. Let the inside of the phone dry out. Take the phone apart as much as you can and let all parts dry out- be sure to turn them upside down, etc in case there's water stored in there.
Wait a day or two and put your phone back together. If it still doesn't work, call Verizon or whatever phone company it is and ask for help.

I'm 15, 5'1 and I weigh 85 pounds.

No, I never had an eating disorder.

I really want to gain 15 pounds.. Because I can't fit in a size 0 or 1 in jeans. I would like my hipbones not to stick out.. or my shoulder blades..

I want some fat on me. But I dont know what foods to eat. I know fatty foods, but list some meals. I'm going to do a milkshake a day. Or close to every day. (Is that healthty?)

I have a very high metabolism.. I heard, you should eat at night or before bed because you won't burn off the fat or something ?

If people think losing weight is hard.. gaining weight is even harder.

I've been struggling with it for 2 years.

Lots of milkshakes, smoothies, frappacinos- it's harder for your body to digest liquid calories so that will help. I don't recommend soda because it will weaken your bones. Lots of carbs, lots of fat but make sure to eat some fruits and veggies too! Lots of red meat and nuts also. I'd recommend seeing a doctor who deals with nutrition specifically. They might even be able to prescribe something that will help.
Eating before bed will make you gain weight but it also makes it harder to sleep, so I don't recommend that.

This is something I've been wondering about...

My parents don't allow me to date until I'm well over the age of 16, and don't allow boys to call, or anything like that.

The only place I am safe from their constant watching is at school.

What is a good way to keep a relationship, in highschool, on the DL?

I was thinking "bathroom breaks", or taking a different way to class, etc etc.

Bathroom breaks, etc. work, but what I used to do is tell my parents I was going to the library after school (my school library is open until 4). Or go somewhere with a group of friends, that way they're not suspicious. Also try coming to school early and staying late.

Help!!! I just bought an ipod nano and when I put songs inside it doesn't show like the pictures of the albums. Does any body know how I can get the picture of the albums to show??. Also how do I download my pictures into my ipod nano?? Help please.

Unless you buy the song on Itunes, the cover art will not show unless you drag and drop it yourself. To download pictures onto it, open up my computer, there should be an icon for your ipod, find the picture files and drag them onto the icon and they should show up.
