Guys & Girls Crying.
Why do guys hate/not like when girls cry? For example, last night I was telling my best guy friend about something really upsetting, and he just kept saying, "Please don't cry, please don't cry." What makes guys always say that, like why does it upset tem when girls cry?

I think Maddox said it best, when women cry, men think of them as infants. Adults never cry, so this is instinct. Our first thoughts are, "Does she need to be burped, did she eat something off the floor and now her stomach hurts, or is her diaper messy?" It's not that we don't like it, it's that we just get confused.

Guys dont like to see you cry because they know you are hurting...well at least most guys dont...let me rephrase that the ones who care about you dont wanna see you cry! They know that they really cant do anything to help or stop you, it also can put them in an awkward position because they dont know what to do! But thats why they say "please dont cry!"

There's a few explanations.
1. It makes them uncomfortable. Guys aren't used to showing their emotions, so when someone else does, they don't know how to deal.
2. It embarasses them.
3. A lot of guys have a protective instinct, and he might feel like he has to protect you.

He doesn't want to see you in pain, and the crying is a direct sign that you are in pain. He wants to make things better for you :)

its that we dont like feeling helpless and watching someone else (in this case a girl) cry or break down in any form for that matter. its just what we do.

I think its that they dont like seeing you girls cry. Guys always try to hide their true feelings, and it just makes them feel sorry for themselves. Either that or since he's your best guy freind, he doesn't like to see you cry

I'm a guy and i personally think it's cute when girls cry over little things like drama going on or somthing with there parents, but no matter what if a girl cries i like to comfort them in every way possible. It doesn't annoy me or make me mad to see girls cry. Hope I helped.

You know, guys are always so tough and macho and never wanting to show their emotions, so whenever they see a girl cry, they're probably thinking,"What do I do? What do I do? What do I say to cheer her up?" And they don't know exactly how to handle the situation and how to make a girl feel better or anything.
Also, like everybody does, he probably just doesn't want to you to be upset. I know whenever you're talking to your friends you're probably hoping they don't start crying because you don't want them to be all upset and you just want them to cheer up and everything. So he just might care about you, and hope you don't get that upset.

it's not that guys don't like it when girls cry.. they don't really care, it's just that they don't know what to say to make you feel better. they don't know how to comfort you in the way that you want to be comforted.

Most guys don't deal with emotions much, so they don't know how to handle the situation and therefor it becomes awkward for them.
OR.
He did not want to see you crying and hurt. Maybe he really cares for you and hates to see you upset and sad.

he was probably saying dont cry because didn't want to hear/see you upset. i dont think that guys in general dont like it when girls cry but like some might get annoyed by it.
so don't assume that they hate it.
