My name is Laura and I'm 28 years old. I live in Illinois and work as a licensed veterinary technician. I am a runner, bookworm and obviously, an animal lover.

So I took a course on babysitting/kidsitting. I talked to multiple people in my neighborhood about it. Most of them said that if I took it they would hire me. So I took the course but now that I have the certificate nobody will hire me. I am afraid to put up flyers because I heard about how some people call the numbers and pretend they have kids to babysit but then they are like perverts and end up like kidnapping they babysitters. I want a job but noone will hire me. What is a good but safe way to get the word out that I'm certified and avalible to work?

Are there kids in your neighborhood? I'm guessing so. If you see them outside with their parents outside, or walking by, mention it to them. Say, "Hi, I'm *name* and I just took a babysitting class. I'm now certified, so if you ever need a babysitter, I am definitely available."

Other than that, place fliers in a friendly environment. Don't put them up somewhere people with kids don't go where creeps might go, but rather places like a daycare. And make sure to mention you ARE certified, that always looks good ;]

Lastnight my mother got a call from walmart saying that my 18 year old sister had stolen a $4 pair of earings. This was the first time she's ever done something like this,and i reallly cannot believe she did! Im really worried that she may go to jail. What's going to happen to her!?

I don't think she'll go to jail. But because she is 18, she probably will have to do community service [like somebody said below].

Since it bothered you, just let her know that you're very disappointed in her. But make sure to hear her side of the story and not to just make her out to be the bad guy. Give her a chance to explain, and then see how you're feeling.

Whenever i wear a tampon (regular) i end up getting blood on my underwear even if i just put the tampon in 5 minutes ago. I make sure after i put one in i wipe around there so it won't but it still does. I don't want to wear a pad and a tampon because i don't like pads that much and that's why i prefer tampons but it keeps getting blood on my underwear. Why is this?

Try using a heavier tampon. It's really no big deal, your flow gets heavier as your period gets more regular.

Otherwise, the only other option is wearing a pad AND tampon,

I want to start doing random acts of kindness to the people around me each day (basically my community). I know they are important to my life and I really want them to know that I appreciate having them around.

Some people I'd like to do these acts for don't really know me at all, but they are constantly around me (like coworkers and acquaintances I see daily but don't really talk to). I want to brighten their lives a little though so they know that somebody out there appreciates them being around.

Anyway, can I have ideas for random acts of kindness to various people in my daily routine?

Some ideas on how to remain anonymous would be nice too.

This is a very nice idea.

You can start with simple things like compliments and smiles. Compliments help boost confidence and make people feel good, and smiles go a LONG way.

Other than that, you can make little notes with inspirational sayings on them. I know that I found one once and it totally made my day. You can stick them in mailboxes or lockers at school.

A few other ideas:
- Make cookies and leave them for somebody at work.
- Leave flowers for somebody at work.

yes, extremly young.
but enough of that....

me and my boyfriend fooled around maybe..a week and a half ago...2 weeks? and he cumed while we were...then he went into the bathroom and washed up...im not sure if he washed his penis off or not...im afraid to ask cause he might find out. and then he kinda got inside me a little, but not all the way...

i dont remember when i had my period last...i started it for the first time maybe 4 or 5 months ago...my mom said that it's normal to not start a regular cycle after like a year of starting. my breast have been kinda sore...not to bad though. i mean...since im only 14, arent they suppost to be, since there growing? they've always had this sorness since i hit puberty. i dont have to pee alot...the only thing is that my breast are sore, and i havent had my period yet...im not naucious at all...i dont have any weird cravings..i dont have a weird taste in my mouth... could i be pregnant???

my sthomach hasent grown alot..but im not sure when it starts to grow...im to young to go anywhere and by myself a pregnancy test.

1. If your breasts are sore, it's a sign that you might get your period soon.

2. It IS normal not to have your period for a few months after your first time getting it. It doesn't get regular until the first year or 2.

4. You're not too young to buy a pregnancy test, I think you should do one to make sure that you aren't pregnant. Or go to the doctor, the choice is yours.

i think i want my major in college to be something with writing. i would love to be an opinion columnist or journalist but what classes would i take and how i could prepare for this. also, if i decided to go into being an author.. what would i do as far as college goes? i know about taking classes for journalism.. but would i just take classes for creative writing? thanks.

For a journalist, here is what I found on a career site:

"Although a college degree is not essential for becoming a journalist, you are unlikely to get a job these days without one. Most employers prefer to hire candidates with a bachelors degree.

A program in journalism or communications that offers a period of internship in a newsroom is excellent preparation. Many journalism schools also offer graduate programs.

Since journalists cover such a wide variety of topics, having additional background education in other academic disciplines may be useful. Many journalists complete degrees in other areas before studying journalism. For example, those with a background in science are well-prepared to write stories on the environment or health care issues. With a background in criminology or law enforcement, a reporter could be assigned to crime scenes and police stations."

And by opinion columnist, I'm assuming you mean a critic? Here's what I found:
"While there are no set educational requirements for critics, you are unlikely to find work without some post-secondary education in journalism or your field of interest (for example film, literature, or art). Ideally you would have education in both.

Two year and 4 year colleges offer diplomas and bachelors degrees in journalism or communications. These programs are particularly helpful if they include a period of internship in a newsroom.

There are many options to choose from when furthering your education in your area of critical interest. For example, if you want to be a fashion critic, you could take a fashion design program at a 2 year college or vocational school. Certificate, diploma, and degree programs are available in most of the subjects that critics write about.

Honestly though? I don't think you should plan on being an author for a career. It's really tough and competitive, and I think being a journalist would be a much better choice in the long run.

i work at a resturaunt so im on my feet all day, wat can i do after work to make them stop hurting and wat can i do to get used to it

First, you should wear comfortable shoes AT work. This will make them hurt less during and after.

Then, you should put insoles of some sort in the shoes. I know they have them at most stores such as Wal Mart, Target, etc.

Then, when you come home, soak them in hot water.

Most places cannot hire teenagers to work until you're 15 or 16. You can do things like:

- Babysitting.
- Mowing lawns.

Charlotte Russe sometimes has cute dresses. But you have to go to the store to see them, because they don't always have dresses online.

Other than that, if you want to ensure nobody else will have your dress, you can try and order it from a website. I don't know specific websites, but you CAN find them on Google.

1. Maybe, but probably not. If you're young, the chances are even slimmer because they're still growing.

2. Again, maybe. Nobody can tell you for sure, as we're not doctors or anything.

3. You should wear a bra, but only from the time you wake up until the time when you go to bed. Wearing it while you sleep doesn't do anything but make you uncomfortable.

I do not think your boyfriend CAN go to jail, because he's not 18 and it was consensual.

Anyways, talk to your mom. Stay calm, and act mature about it. Tell her that you made a mistake, and you regret doing it, but that's part of life. Everybody makes mistakes, and now you've learned from yous.

As for going to the doctor, tell her you don't think it's necessary. Just be honest and tell her that you aren't a virgin, but it's a personal decision that you made for YOURSELF.

hi my vagina is itchy like a lot. Its not itchy 24/7, but it itches quite a lot. I also have a whiteish discharge, not all the time but sometimes. Could i have a yeast infection? Or something else?

I feel as if I am selfish. My Babe was suppose to sleep over my house on Thursday. I called her to make sure it was still on and she was on her way to corning. That's were her cousins live. i was like, why are you going to corning when we made a plan. I haven't seen her in two weeks, cause i was on vacation. So I really miss her alot. well i have read the advise of most people of this topic and it may be relavent to some , i got no freinds to talk to the only person i love hates me ,i m 28 and i think id have the smallest funeral next to never being found,going to hell aint proven ,i have had a drug propblym scence i been 11 ,i have failed at about every aspect of life ,seems the more i try to help people the more i get hurt ,i wish i was mean .i have money and it means nothing ,the people who pretend to be close to me are fake i seem to like them less and less ,the girl in my live lately dont like me doing heroin but on the other hand shes always drunk,i guess im afraid to die ,on the other hand its all i want ,i got nothing to look foward to and the past has been a nightmare ,so in that scence the future seems to be more of the same ,i bought a motorcycle in hopes it will kill me .not yet i guess this would seem to be just some other sob story maybe it is i try live with out drugs and its worse just more drug doctors give you and thay dont help thay are phoney too you can only sedate some one so much ,bottom line i got no one to hurt but myself so what is the point ,and please dont say god will save, i beleave he might be dead,i feel my end is coming soon

So I like the hair selena gomez has at the wall e premiere.Im going to have my haircut that way the day of my school pic. Im nervous i wont look good in it though.Is there a way to know if it looks good on you or not?I really like the hair.....

The only thing you can do, is take a chance. If possible, try cutting it about 2 weeks BEFORE picture day to see if you like it. This way, if you don't, you'll have time for it to grow a little and to find new ways of styling it. And if you DO like it, you can always trim and touch it up before you get your picture taken =]

What is your definition of "unfashionable"?

I agree with the people who said to wear what you want. Just because you aren't wearing short skirts from Hollister or something does NOT make you unfashionable. Just wear what you want, and be comfortable with it.
