about
Hello! I am studying esthetics at an Aveda Institute after spending years in retail. I am proof that nothing turns out how you think it will, and that's a good thing. When you think you've got it figured out, you don't. Life would be boring otherwise, right?Makeup, skincare, and psychology are my passions and I'm also happy to give advice on relationships, particularly for teenagers (so many things I wish I could have told myself a decade ago!) I'm happy to help fellow abuse survivors as well.
I'm a diehard SF Giants fan and also enjoy watching the Sharks and Niners. Addicted to music, especially The Gaslight Anthem. Oh, and my name is Krista. :)
advice
Well I'm 14.
and I'm already studying for a permit and
I was wondering if you really have to be 15 1/2 to get your permit.
by the way i live in nevada so if that helps than I'd really like to know
This is from the Nevada DMV website:
First-time Applicants Under Age 18
Beginning drivers in Nevada must take a driver education course consisting of 30 hours of instruction. Often, these classes are offered at the local public high school, but if your school doesn't offer one, you can also take the course through an approved third-party provider.
Many courses include behind-the-wheel training and a minimum of 15 hours in the classroom. You must be at least 15 years old to take these courses.
Instruction Permit
Starting at age 15 1/2, you can apply for an instruction permit that will allow you to drive a vehicle with an approved adult. Here's how to apply:
Bring proof of your identity and Social Security number (if you have one) to your local full-service DMV office.
Complete the Non-Commercial Driver License Application and Minor Affidavit & Information Sheet. Your parent or guardian will need to sign both forms as well, either in front of a notary or in person at the DMV.
Pass the vision and written tests. (Prepare for the written test by taking the interactive sample test online.)
Pay a fee of $21.25.
Instruction permits allow you to drive a vehicle when accompanied by a licensed adult who is 21 years or older and who has at least one year of driving experience; that person must also be seated next to you as you drive. The instruction permit is valid for one year.
Before obtaining your regular driver license, you will be required to complete 50 hours of behind-the-wheel driving time, with at least 10 of those hours being at night. Use the Beginning Driver Experience Log to keep track of your hours.
If you are in a driver education class, your behind-the-wheel experience in that class will count toward this total. Remember to log it on your sheet.
If you live in a rural area with no instructional classes offered within a 30-mile radius, the class requirement will be waived if replaced by at least 100 hours of behind-the-wheel driving time, with 10 hours completed at night.
Applying for a Regular License
Once you've completed your classroom and driving hour requirements, it's time to start thinking about getting the real deal. You must be at least 16 years of age to apply, and you must also have had an instruction permit for at least six months. Your record must be free of at-fault accidents, moving violations, and alcohol or drug convictions for at least six months before applying.
Because you already took the vision and written tests to get your instruction permit, the only thing left to do is schedule the driving test. Call your local DMV office to schedule your test, and bring the following:
Certificate of completion of a driver education course.
Completed Beginning Driver Experience Log.
Your instruction permit.
Parent or guardian, and a vehicle with current registration and insurance coverage in which to take the test.
Completed Non-Commercial Driver License Application and Minor Affidavit & Information Sheet (these forms need to be resubmitted even if you completed them to obtain your instruction permit).
Part of the driving test, also known as the skills test, will include a safety check. You'll also need to present the registration certificate and insurance card to the examiner before beginning.
Your instructor will tell you what to do during the test. Some mistakes, like speeding or failing to yield, will mean an automatic failure of the test.
When you pass the test, congratulations! You'll return to the DMV and your license will be issued for $2.25. Licenses for drivers under the age of 21 are vertical, rather than the traditional horizontal layout for older drivers.

How many people feel that we should be allowed to post our questions without being deleted, once, twice, or a thousand times. There is another website that allows one to post as many times as you want. MODERATORS YOU REALLY SHOULD LIGHTEN UP.
Okay:
1) This is a stupid question and I sincerely hope it gets deleted.
2) Your question doesn't get deleted for no reason. Sex questions are inappropriate and some questions have already been asked tons of times. If you really care, find out why and fix your questions.
3) If you're really that interested, go to the other website. If you're talking about Yahoo Answers, well that's an example of how awful advicenators would be if there were no rules. Questions are inappropriate and overasked, people answer questions with "dunno" because they want more points, and most answers suck. So if you hate this website, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
EDIT: Okay, you are allowed to do that...unless it's a bad question. If I was Level III and i saw "how can i tell if a guy likes me?" or one of those "hannah's mom said bla bla to hannah her friends say bla bla is she overreacting?" twice i would delete it. rewording doesn't make a bad question good.
what to do if a boy has a girlfriend but flirts with you and your ex-friend??
Ignore him. If you have to, remind him he has a girlfriend. Just be as clear as possible that you are NOT INTERESTED.
Remember, if he's willing to cheat on his girlfriend, even if he dumps her, he'll cheat on the next one.
I was just wondering if anyone could find out where i can get this purse and how much, and also if it can be done online. thanks alot.

I don't know if it's still there, but I've seen it at Macy's and Nordstrom for about $150-$350 dollars depending on size and color. Not sure if they're still being sold because a lot of my friends had them last year, but try macys.com and nordstrom.com .
does anyone know of the website where people draw a picture and everyone tries to guess what it is. i know that there's a few but i can't think of it. thanks!
Isketch.com and InkLink on shockwave.com . I like Isketch better personally.
I turn sixteen in about a month, and I'm thinking about having a Phantom of the Opera party. I absolutely love Phantom and I think it's a good idea. Kind of a masquerade type thing. I'm on kind of a budget, though. I'm thinking about having it in a hotel ballroom. Anyone have any ideas that will be easy and cheap for my Phantom theme?
Have all the guys wear masks and hire a guy to be the phantom. By the end of the night everyone has to guess who the phantom is.
Wear a white dress like Christine wears when she's performing Think Of Me onstage.
Have the phantom break a thrift-store chandelier before your grand entrance.
Decorate the ballroom either as the theatre or the phantom's room.
(This is from the book not the movie ->) Send the invitations out on parchment in red ink.
AH! People on this site who ask for help frustrate me. Not all people do this but several do. Advice is where people from all different points of view give the honest answer they think even if it's brutal. Yet when some people do give honest answers, the questioner, who doesn't like the answer, decides to give a 1 for not getting a sugar coated answer. If we all said "Yeah, you're right, this and that" blah blah than those arn't advice...so I guess I'm asking why do people do that and is there any way to clarify to people that advice is not always sugar coated and that giving a 1 because they don't like the answer is just a;skljga;lkjg?
I do agree with you, but you have to remember that ratings don't mean anything. It's just a useless number and no one is going to look down on you for having a 1. Some of the best columnists on this site have straight 1's...
Is there any way I can disconnect my ipod while it says "do not disconnect"? Because I have been charging it for like hours and it wasn't even very battery-drained when I hooked it up. I'm afraid to disconnect it! Someone please help this is URGENT!!!
The "Do Not Disconnect" is bull, it just means your ipod isn't fully charged, feel free to ignore it.
is there anyway that you can get an itunes username without a credit card?
Yeah, you can't buy any songs obviously but you can still have a username and use gift cards, etc. Just sign up on the Itunes home page and it should work fine. You don't have to fill in the credit card part.
EDIT: I don't know what your problem is, but you need to grow the hell up. I answered your question. It's not my fault you didn't clarify.
Today for Christmas, I got $110 and I already had $80, so now I have $190. Well I was thinking of buying this Coach purse for myself: http://www.coach.com/content/product.aspx?product_no=3337&category_id=460 in the brass/khaki/camel color and I was wondering if its a waste of money for $138? Anyone who has it please tell me if it is worth buying and if it has good quality. Please dont say ask my parents to buy it for me or ask anyone else to buy it for me because they sure bought a lot of expensive things for me for Christmas. Thanks!
~Merry Christmas!
Well, it depends. If you're the type of person who will use that purse for at least a year and not worry about it being "out", buy it. I have a black coach purse that I love, it's held up and it goes with everything.
If you have a lot of purses or you won't use it every day, don't buy it because that's a lot of money.
How can I learn more about fashion?
Read fashion magazines and books. Even if you don't have a lot of money, browse designer stores online just to see what's in...and then buy a cheaper version of it.
Read up on the classics first...Dolce and Gabanna, Chanel, Coach. Then start looking at what's in style now.
I started to babysit for money. But there's this evil little kid that is very young (only 6!!) but is verrry perverted. He watches rated R movies, fastforwarding to sex scenes, and he's always trying to touch my parts. I'm 15!! How gross is that?! I told his parents about it, but they wouldn't believe me. He acts like an angel in front of them I guess. I yell at him and everything, but nothing works!!
WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?
- If you have a digital camera use the video function (almost all have them, read the manual) to tape him doing it. Just pretend you're looking at your pics or something.
- Or record him. Say something like "Why are you touching me?"
- Or have a neighbor or friend stop by.
- Or call your parents. Chances are, they will believe you.
Good luck. And, since everyone else said it...ewwwwwwwwww!
in like a week or so i'm getting 2 teeth pulled in the back of my mouth. im scared shit because i don't know what to expect. when i'm under the anethesia will i feel any pain? will i feel pain after it's done? is there any way that the anethesia will wear off while they are pulling my teeth out? WHAT IF I DONT WAKE UP FROM THE ANATHESIA??
im sooooo scared i need to know these answers. if you had teeth pulled out tell me EVERYTHING.
I've had 3 teeth pulled and the only problem I ever had was that they gave me a little too much anesthesia (I was about 8) and so I was delirious for quite some time...but that was when I was going to a really crappy dentist. People spend years going to college learning how to administer anethesia and the possibly of you dying is slim to none. Having your teeth pulled out is not fun, but it's a fairly common process.

what should i get my gf for christmass, i suck at choosing out gifts. im thinking maybe jewlry?
Jewelry's always good, maybe a nice pair of earrings and a necklace? Or some scented stuff, if you know what she likes.
hey i was thinking of getting some perfume. i heard Armani and stuff smelt good. But can you tell me perfumes that could get guys attention. and has a seductive smell?? Thanks!!!
Just so you know, every guy I know (boyfriends, friends, brother, dad) detests Victorias Secret Love Spell.
I recommend Britney Spears Fantasy, Gap Dream, Victorias Secret Vanilla Lace or Benefit Maybe Baby instead.
Hello,
We got a new coach for my high school swim team. He is pretty tough. We have a morning practice and an afternoon practice. However, I have way too much homework to actually do all this swimming! I am very concerned about my work and it comes first. Also, I will only have twenty less minutes to change into my uniform, get to my locker and get to class after getting out of swimming. I also have no time to eat breakfast. My parents keep on saying that they will talk to her, but I don't even know if I want to be on such a demanding team. I do swimming for personal enjoyment and exercise, not to be super competitive. I don't think my mom understands that I am not a competitive person and will break down under such a high-stress regimen. Any advice? I am involved 2 clubs, but without swimming, no sports.
Thanks.
If you're not a competitive person, then you shouldn't be on a swim team, where the focus is competition. Obviously your coach takes it very seriously and if you don't, there's probably no room for you on the team, especially if you'd rather do the homework. I think you should not stay on the team and just swim for your personal enjoyment, but it's your choice.

When a guy asks me out, how can I say 'No'?
Can I have an example of what to say?
"I'm flattered but I'm not interested in having a boyfriend right now."
"I'm not allowed to date."
"I had a bad experience and I want to stay single for a while."
"I think of you more as a friend."
okkay soo i have a question for all u guys..what is your favorite scent of perfume on girls..and what lipgloss flavor..or does lipgloss taste/feel wierd when your kissing a girl if she has too much on or even a little..thank you :]]
EDIT: Every single guy i've ever known (boyfriends, brother, and dad) has hated Love Spell. A lot of girls don't even like it. It's one of those things you either love or hate. Also, a surprising amount of people are allergic to strong perfume, and love spell is realllllly strong.
I'm not a guy, but I have had several boyfriends and here's what I found:
- Avoid Victoria's Secret Love Spell at all costs.
- Try Victoria's Secret Vanilla Lace, Gap Dream, or Dessert Berry (it's at sephora, the one by jessica simpson).
- For lipgloss, avoid sticky things. Try the Smackers lip balms in strawberry, orange pop, etc. Or the candy/food-scented lip balms like Hershey's and Cinnabon.

Is there any way to make me look more feminme?
I have issues with my appearance. I want to look like a GIRL.
I want to feel confident. But I don't think I look like a girl.. Every other girl looks beautiful. To me, I'm not a girl but I'm not even a boy. I have no gender in my eyes?
People have said that short hair fits me perfectly but I don't think my face.. would work with it. I have a boyish features yeah?

I'm growing out my hair.
I just want a new look but I don't know what to do.
Nobody calls me ugly or that I look like a boy (they did before- due to uberrrr short hair)
It's just me..
The second picture isn't a great picture of you, but you're really pretty. If you don't feel feminine:
- Always have lipgloss- it helps
- Wear something girly- a purse, a shirt with a little lace on it, kitten heels, curly hair
You have gorgeous eyes so I'd play that up.
Good luck!
Hey Just wondering when you all started wearing makeup regularly. i am a high school freshman and dont wear makeup, but i do want to start. just wondering who old everyone else was when they started!
I know I'm a freak, but I started in fifth grade...and since I was young, it was truly awful. I didn't wear it to school but once to my school's Open House i wore hot pink lipstick and yellow-gold eyeshadow. It took me until about freshman year to learn how to really do it well. Start small!
