Phantom of the Opera party

Question Posted Tuesday December 26 2006, 11:48 am

I turn sixteen in about a month, and I'm thinking about having a Phantom of the Opera party. I absolutely love Phantom and I think it's a good idea. Kind of a masquerade type thing. I'm on kind of a budget, though. I'm thinking about having it in a hotel ballroom. Anyone have any ideas that will be easy and cheap for my Phantom theme?

Additional info, added Wednesday December 27 2006, 9:45 am:
I'm a big fan of the movie and the book( the original Gaston Leroux version). I've read it three times, so I can do anything from either..

Have all the guys wear masks and hire a guy to be the phantom. By the end of the night everyone has to guess who the phantom is.
Wear a white dress like Christine wears when she's performing Think Of Me onstage.
Have the phantom break a thrift-store chandelier before your grand entrance.
Decorate the ballroom either as the theatre or the phantom's room.
(This is from the book not the movie ->) Send the invitations out on parchment in red ink.

no ideas.. but i cant wait to see what youve come up with once youve invited meeee :) haha im just kidding. i think its a wonderful idea, i wish id thought of that at some point in my younger days. youll have a blast. or you know, i dont really have any ideas, but why dont you go to some kind of search engine like yahoo and type in phantom of the opera. or even type that in under "images" and look at the different types of sets people have come up with and work off of that. theres a lot of stuff you can hand make prop wise that im sure would work out perfectly.

hey, i think thats a great idea! the whole ballroom thing is awesome too! ballrooms can be pretty expensive tho, so if you decided to do that your room would probably be little because your on a budget. you could also go to a friends house or your house and turn there like whole downstairs of there house into a ballroom. if you live in like a place with nice weather you could use your backyard.
