I am stressed out! *sigh* I'm a sophomore, and in my state we have to take the graduation test this year. The tearchers are like "The graduation test is in March!! You must know everything!!!" Also, I have my permitt. I like driving and all...but I'm nervous. My sister (age: 10) doesn't help me much either... all I hear from her is "Help me!" I spend an hour riding to school, then spend 8 hours at school, then the hour ride back. Then I have to eat my dog or cat (my sister and I take turns), then I have to help my sister with any homework she has. Also, I'm getting worried about my grades. No, I'm not failing. I am getting mostly B's...but it seems like I'm not doing good enough.
*laughes* You want to know something sad? My birthday is a week before the graduation test, and the day before the gradution test is the earliest I can take my driver's license. -_- Lucky me, huh?

Are you talking about the HSAP? (That's what we took in 10th grade here in SC, anyway.)
Well, try asking your family to take over some of the things you have to do (like feeding the cat & dog, and maybe your parents could help your sister with her homework while you study.) I would also advise waiting to take your driver's liscense test until a later date, as school is a bit more important than getting your driver's liscense.
As for your grades, B's are pretty good, though if you want to do better, you could ask your teachers for some extra credit or something.
And for stress management? I'd suggest writing how you feel down (sounds stupid, but it can actually work) or talking to your friends about what's bothering you. Hearing (or seeing, if you're writing) what's on your mind out loud/on paper might make you feel a little less stressed about it all, especially if your friends have advice, too.

This is probably going to sound pretty fucking wierd, but it bothers me.
Ok, Im dating this girl. Shes agnostic/athiest, Im christian, formerly catholic non denominational. Up to this point, with the exception of discussion, Ive not really had any issues with religions shit in our relationship. It doesnt bother me that shes agnostic, it hasnt bothered her that Im christian.
So, today we were talking, and I told her I was going to become a reverend in the universal life church. For those of you who dont know, its an online website where you can actually get legally ordained and become a reverend in the eyes of the law. I find this fucking hilarious, and have wanted to for a while, but never got around to it.
She reacted badly. First, she joked that she didnt want to be involved with a reverend. Then she got serious and basically made it clear that it would bother her for me to become a reverend while I was dating her (expressed so that it was clear she didnt want me to do it)
Then she tells me its "disrespectful towards my religion"
This is coming from a girl who Ive watched the jesus episodes of southpark with. Whom I have made catholic joke after catholic joke (Im entitled, I was raised in it) with and laughed with her. Whom I have had frank discussions about the real failings of certain christian sects.
And now this.
Needless to say, I reacted badly. I was, and am pissed at her, for reasons I cant really say. Given that she doesnt even have a religion (because atheism and agnosticism are no more religions than bald is a hair color) I dont see where she gets off getting on me for being "disrespecful" towards mine or having an issue with it when its not like...
Anyway. Enough impassioned speeches, my question to the masses, is what do you think. Am I out of line? Is she? Because Im going to do this, and shes not going to like it. And I dont like feeling guilty for doing things I know arent wrong. (link)

Well, you should do what you want to do. However, I wouldn't advise becoming a reverend as a joke; not that you necessarily have to turn this goal into your whole life, but don't be disrespectful to your own or any other religions while doing this.
As for the way your girlfriend reacted, I can see how she was upset if it's because you're doing this as a joke.
I can also see how she's mad at you for not taking atheism and agnosticism as religions--true, they aren't really religions like Christianity or something, but those words do more or less describe the religious beliefs of many people.
However, if she's mad at you for wanting to become a reverend, regardless of whether or not it's a joke, I think she may have reacted a bit too strongly. If you really want to do this (not as a joke), and if she really wantss you to be happy, then she ought to let you do your own thing as long as you don't pressure it onto her.

Possibly, only if you start taking the pill (supposedly) or get pregnant.
Or just take a look at genetics. You'll probably end up looking like your mother/grandmother so if that's a family trait then there's not much hope.

Okay, this is directly from "Seventeen" magazine.
1. Trim your ends. Cutting split ends will keep your hair healthy, so it can grow and won't break off. Have a half inch snipped every 3 months.
2. Don't use the thin elastics. They make your hair break. Use the cotton terry hair elastics.
3. Before styling with heat (curling irons, straightening irons, etc.), use a product that will protect your ends.
4. Wait 4 to 6 weeks between colourings.
5. Take a mulitivitamin daily to ensure your hair receives all nutrients it needs to grow.

dont make yourself get upset about it. does the boy you 'love' know that you like him in more than a friendly way? remember that 'love' is a very strong word and shouldnt be used unless it is really ment. i doubt the boy will turn out like the other boy because he will be 'living a lie' he will soon get bored of his new friend and move onto someone else. i hope this helped.

someone once told me on this website that if you take a cold shower you can burn off extra colories because you body has to warm up and by doing so you burn off more calories. is this true? if it is would it be the same if i took a run during the winter when it was cold would i burn more calories. please help. ill rate 5's! in some cases you can burn off calories whilst having a cold shower but it isnt a large amount, going for a 15min walk would burn off more than a cold shower (so would you really want to be in the freezing cold shower??) you burn most of your calories whilst asleep or doing gentle exercise. 30mins a day sould be plenty to keep you fit and healthy. hope this helped

make sure that you eat a healthy meal, not eating to much fatty foods and cutting out all of the sugary drinks, alcohol makes you put on weight too so stay away from that. eating 5 pieces of friut and veg a day will help you gain a better healthier lifestyle. hope this helped, if you need any more help please leave a question in my inbox. ~lucee~

Recently my sister got a game for her PS2 that let's you sing. I've played it a few times and it got kind of addicting. I've done really good on it and I think I actually kind of have a good voice. My parents and sistre and brother say I have a good voice and so do the rest of my extended family. I think it needs some work. I just got my car serviced and they told me that I needed to replace my brakes, front and back. I asked them how much it would cost and they told me about 450 dollars. Well that is a lot of money for me because I only work part time and I rent an appartment. Does anyone know if they are trying to rip me off or is this the normal price that they charge to replace brakes? (link)

well what you need to find out is what you're getting charged for. replacing pads, discs, shoes, rebuilding rotors, rebuilding calipers, cleaning brake lines, abd checking every other braking mechanism from the emergency brake to the brake pedals and the pump for the brake fluid. it's a bitch of a job. i hate working on brakes and suspensions but someone has to do it. you've got to lift the car up and spend hours down there. and mechanics charge based on this: parts, and labor. it takes about 2 and a half hours to do the standard brake job (replacing of pads and shoes and machining rotors and calipers) and most mechanics charge somewhere between $50-$100 an hour. now tack onto that the cost of parts. new brembro performance brakes cost about $1200 a piece. now granted we aren't all getting those sometimes we just get the brake check brand brakes and call it a day but even those run around $150-$300 based on the size of your car. a friend of mine drives a cadillac fleetwood (a massive car) and it cost him about $1000 to replace his pads, discs, machine the rotors and rebuild the calipers. some people would say he got ripped off but with a lifetime warranty on all parts, with a car that can stop safely once again, and with a car that doesn't squeak all the time i think he got a deal. i've seen what some drivers do to their cars. i see it on a daily basis, it's not pretty and not cute. there's a reason repairs are so expensive. because of the condition people run their cars in.

My boyfriend and I have been dating for about 2 years now. His father was diagnosed with cancer back in May and when the finally did catch it, it was too advanced.
Today they officially gave him 6 months to live.
My boyfriend was all out crying when he told me. I've known him since we were 12 (we're both 18 now) and I've never seen him cry.
His brother committed suicide in October and even then I saw no tears.
I don't know what to do here. I don't know what to say and I don't know how to act. You'd think that after I've known him and his family so long that I would. But I don't. Not even after his brother. (link)

It doesnt matter how long you've known a person, you never know exactly the right words to say.
Maybe he started crying beacause having your brother commite suicide and then your father dying in 6 months,struck his heart, and got to way to much. I cant imagine it happening to me.
Theres nothing much you can say to him, but always try to be there for him. Im not even sure what to tell you do say or do, beacause its that hard. But you have to be there for him, and know that its tuff, having your brother gone and soon your dad. I think he didnt show you his tears when his brother died, but i bet he cried atleast a little. Just be there for him, i bet that be enough confort, and let him know you wont leave him.

Well, my friend and I were supposed to hang-out this weekend. I have called her numorus times, maybe 3 or 4. Most of the time somebody didn't answer, the line was busy, and then one time, her brother answered and told me she wasn't home. But, sometimes her brother will say she isn't home, even when she is. Well the thing is, I really want to get intouch with her. So should I just keep calling; it has been about an hour since I called. Should I just not call and wait til' she calls me. Or does anybody else have anymore suggestions?
