Hey Everyone :) I'm Kate and a level 2 mod on here. I've had this account since July 2004, so I've been on here since I was 13! Wow ... crazy for me to think how long ago that was. I will admit I don't check in as often as I once did, but being away at college, being in a sorority, and having a job when I'm not at school is very time consuming. I still try to help out as much as possible, and if you send me a question I WILL answer it. This site helped me a LOT when I was in high school and had a lot of questions, and I'm here to help anyone who needs it :) Feel free to write in my forum or send me a question any time!

where can i get good layouts?

For what? Myspace, advicenators, xanga...
I know for myspace I just went to pimpwebpage.com (or I think that's what it's called) and used their link, but I google searched my background (Kenny Chesney) for advicenators, they offer layouts, or what I did was made up random color schemes until I found one that I liked.
Xanga, I don't know how to, I have my sisters friend my password and she made mine xanga link.

Anyway, I'm going to be late for school if I don't hurry up, so yeah, ask another question and be more specific if you want a more specific answer.

i need to know if a C is a bad grade?

It all depends.
C is average-- still passing, but aveage. For me it all depends what class. When I'm making C's in math I flip out. Also in english, I don't want to go below a B. In civics and other history classes I don't want to go below a C because for me they are hard, but not too hard. Now in sciences definitly don't want to go below a C, but right now in biology I'm making a D+ which is only like k2 points away from a C so I'm fine with it.

Depends on you though. If you don't mind being average, then nope. As long as I'm passing my parents don't care too much though if it's a D they get on my case a little.

I'm probably gonna be getting braces soon and I was wondering some things about them. Do they hurt a lot? I know most of my friends said that they normally only hurt when you first get them & then when they tighten your wires. Do they really make kissing another person with braces harder or anything? Um, and just tell me whatever advice you have when having braces or whatever you know about them from your own personal experience, haha. Thanks!

I have had braces since the July something 2004. Too long! haha. But your friends are right about the pain factor. They really only hurt the first day or so, and not even that much at least in my opinion and I am NOT pain tolerant haha I HATE pain. And when they tighten them they hurt. It's not even hurt, it's that they feel sore. Like if you can remember what it feels like to have a tooth growing in, I didn't lose all my teeth until the 8th grade so for me it would be easy to remember, but that is kind of the soreness I mean. For the whole kissing thing, as long as both of you don't have braces it's the same. If both of you do have braces it shouldn't be any different because when have you kissed with your teeth touching? You can go to like any kissing website and it will tell you if you should or shouldn't, I would look it up for you, but I have a brother whom my dad doesn't trust, we all share the computer, and there is parental block on it so none of that stuff comes up.

Other information. I pretty much gave up gum, though there is a special kind of gum that is meant for people with dental stuff in their mouth such as braces, retainers, ect. I've had it before, the flavor doesn't last long but it's okay. I just use mints, plus if you're hungary you can eat like 2 mints and you won't be hungary anymore haha. Umm really I can eat most of the same foods you just have to BRUSH a whooooole lot more. Like I can't brush after lunch because we're are school and you only have 30 minutes and 15 of those are spent in the lunch line (more if you don't run to lunch haha)
I mainly stay away from chewy, sticky, gooey things such as caramel foods (though not always) and things like laffy taffy and air heads though I do eat some every now and then.
When your orthodontist tightens your wires or replaces them or whatever they do, they usually have to cut them in that back, after they cut them wait a minute because like seriously when I'm at the ortho, after my wires are cut so they don't poke me, by the time I get home they're too long and they're poking me. But when you're at the ortho your mouth is streched out from opening it wide so it takes a few minutes to really get the feel of it. Sooo yeah, just a heads up, make sure you have wax to put inbetween any wires poking your gums and NEVER SWALLOW IT!! You WILL get sick!! I never used it because I never liked the idea of it, but I probably should because my wires bug we all the time. But anyway, my friend swallowed a little bit once when she forgot it was in her mouth, she was sick to her stomach for the rest of the day. There is loads more I could tell you, but it would be easier with more specific questions.

Oh goodness gracious, I went over six months without mine, I was worried, but yeah it turned out fine. Then I didn't get it for over 2 months later-- is it the first few years, because them MOST definitley normal to skip on period, but if you've had it for like a bazillion years, then not as normal. Always possible to skip a period though, but it's not always a good thing. Anyway, I hope I helped!

Well it could, there's always that possibility. But it could also be a sign of a yeast infection, well at least smellier discharge. I'm alawys late on my period, so I never really worry about it, but those are both options. I'm no doctor, I know nothing about you, so I couldn't tell you whether you were pregnant, or if it was a yeast infection, or anything else. Sooo, to answer your question, it COULD BE a SIGN, though I wouldn't know for sure if you ACTUALLY ARE because there are bunches of other signs, 3 days late isn't too big a deal, but maybe you should take a pregnancy test if you haven't already, or see your doctor and ask her about it.

Well you've already gotten answers that I would have given you, so instead of repeating, I have one other option that could or could not work for you. Do you have AIM? If so, then there's a robot called SmarterChild (that's the screen name, it's just a robot, not a person) and if you add him, then you say "define ____" (your word) he usually has answers, but you have to spell it correctly otherwise he won't understand, and he might and might not have it. But like some others, it's www.dictionary.com, and again, try google by putting define_____ that should help you more, hopefully.

how can you reduce the redness out of a pimple overnight?

Anyway I know that if you dab a little bit of toothepaste on it before bed, the toothepaste will dry, and reduce some of the redness, it might not work all in one night, but it does actually work!!

My boyfriend is going to a party with this one girl today for 7pm-12 midnight is it wrong to feel jealous?

Like he's going with her, as in hanging out with her, dancing with her, doing things like that with her? Then no, it's not wrong to feel a little jealous. Do you trust him? Do you trust her? Are they just friends, or have they ever dated or wanted to be more than friends? Do you know who's party it is, or who is going to be there? Not much info is given here, but I suppose it's not completely wrong to feel jealous. But you might want to be honest with him about your feelings. Tell him you're feeling a little jealous that he's going with another girl, or at least a little uncomfortable that he'll be with this other girl all night long. But I would feel more uncomfortable with that fact rather than jealous of the girl, remember, he chose you to date!!

My boyfriend just asked me if it was alright for him to spend the night at his best friend's house. His four best friends are girls. there's gonna be two other guys, but I still don't really like the outlook on it; he's gonna be all night with 5-6 other girls.

hi im running the mile tommorrow in school, and i was wondering how I could get a better time. i'm a 13/m, around 5'2", 99lbs. last year i got like 7min 16sec, but i would really like to get under 7minutes this year. any tips on how to get a better time? (when to sprint, when to job.. etc?)

I know of two ways that work pretty well. I know that sprinting the first lap, jogging the two middle laps, and sprinting the last lap helps. Our track is 4 laps=1 miles though, yours may be different. If it's the same, then you can either do that, or stay at a steady pace the first 3 and a half laps, from the 3-one half to begining of the fourth lap start working your way up, then sprint the last lap.

Also, PRACTICE both methods to see which works better for you. Then again, you have to do it tomorrow, so the practicing probably won't take place. Make sure you're well rested and don't run too much before hand!!

i am a level 1 moderator and have been on this site for just a bit past year now. i really want to become a level 2 moderator, but havent been asked yet. i try to rate as many questions every day as i can and answer alot as well. i would like to know, about how often do they need a need level 2? and when was the last time they got a new one? (if anyone knows) thnks

Well I know it took me about a year and a few months. We were all sitting in the chat, this was when A_A was still in charge. Honestly, if it was up to DN, I'm not sure if I would have become an L2, espcially because I haven't been doing as much lately. But anyway, I was the only L1 in the chat, the rest were L2 and L3, I made a comment jokingly about it, A_A checked me out a little bit (my column obviously haha) and I was promoted within an hour of that comment.

But seriously, unless one of us get demoded, I don't think there will be any new ones lately. From my memory, younggrandma was promoted to L2 shortly after I was, I honestly don't remember anyone new coming after that, but my memory isn't something I rely on.

Keep up what you're doing. I was in the top 5 of who rated the most when I was chosen, and I was here over a year, so just keep up the good luck, and maybe, just maybe, DN will be looking for some fresh blood.

Well I don't think you should be dating someone who's involved with illegal activities, because that can get you into trouble. And just because you break up with someone doesn't mean it's for someone else. Dating someone two years older than you doesn't make you any cooler, my ex boyfriend was 18 when I was 14, to me it wasn't a big deal, to everyone else it was, but still it's not like it makes you cooler. I would worry about that summer boyfriend. If he has another girlfriend, that's great for him. If the only reason he likes hanging with you is because you have a boyfriend, well there's something strange going on. And the guy you're dating now, who cares what he thinks is the reason you're dumping him. Just tell him it's over because you don't want to be with a drug dealer. Then don't get a boyfriend the next day, that would make lots of people wwonder. I doubt that ex will start ignoring you, but I don't know him, maybe he's just weird like that haha.
Anyway, just listen to your heart. If you really don't like the guy you're with now, dump him, who cares what anyone else thinks. And if your ex doesn't want to be your friend because you're single and he's big headed enough to think just because you're single you like him (even if you do) then so be it, he's not your only friend in the world. Well there was this guy and we kinda started to have a thing for eachother and he finallt asked me out!Life was all good but i use to cut myself and i wanted to be honest with him so i told him.he didnt believe it at first but then he realized that i wasnt lying and a teh next friday be broke up with me!!! i am in love with him and i cant get over him.....his bff is one of my close friends and he told me that he is sick oh hearing about all of it. Are you asking about being a horrible person for cutting? If so, the no. You made a simple mistake, you don't do it any more. It probably just creeped him out. He might have thought he has a suicidal girlfriend, and that can get bad, a lot of people threaten to kill themselves if their partner breaks up with them. It just happened recently to someone I know, this guy said he was going to kill himself when his girlfriend broke up with him, he didn't, but it's still hard to handle. Or maybe he thought you were another poser looking for attention bringing up that you used to cut. He probably took it the wrong way. But honestly, telling the guy you date that you used to be a cutter, especially if you only did it like 3 times, isn't really important. Now if all this junk happens and you two decided to be honest about everything that has ever happened in your lives, then yes, bring it up. I'm not saying you shouldn't be honest, but really there's no need to bring it up unless something big happens. So if he goes back out with you great! The only thing you can really do is talk to her. Did this guy ever actually date your friend? If so, tell her how it made you feel, and she might be feeling the same way if she likes him.

Do you really care about him, or do you just like him a little and like the idea of being boyfriend/girlfriend. If it's just that, let them be together, she must care about him to not like you for dating him. Then again, that's really immature of her. But I don't know the whole situation. Love life is probably my worst category on here, so sorry for being no help, but the only thing I have to say is talk with your friend, tell her to tell you the truth. umm lets start here i had a summer love and and we had so much its not even funny! but we had alot of complications and i broke up with him a couple of times for good reason or was my friends just jelous cause they liked him to and they convinsed me? idk but like finally my one friend told me he was to good for me so i broke up with him but of course we thought it wouldnt last cause i was deeply inlove with him and so was he as i thought. and he made a new friend ill call her pocahanas. well finally he totally broke it off with me and ended going out with pocahanas and of course i was jelous of her and well my summer love is my next door neighbor and my friends brother.kinda weird but it was deffitally love at first site. well anyway my two best friends made friends with pocahanas and her friend we will call her sleepin beauty well i told some people that i didnt like pocahanas well duh who wouldnt u would be so jelous so pocahanas older bro nows me and hated me and so did his gang of friends. well finally i made friends with pocahanas cuase of my two best friends and so now we are friends i guess. and well my summer love he kinda put me throught alot of pain which put me up to do some stuff that isnt good.(like hurt myself with my wrist) well it got out to alot of my friends which wasnt good and some people didnt like it and ahted me after that. the problem is ic ant get away from him at all he is a totally jerk to me now and will hate me i try to get away but i cant and i dont kno how. i cry my slef to sleep i need to get away from him but its to tuff and now his mom is working for my parents. and his sister my friend hates me now. ive been a little depressive but as long as im his neighbor ride his bus friends with his friends and im friends with his gf(pocahans) im never going to get away what do i do about all this?

Kind of a confusing question. I think I'm getting what you're saying, but I'm not sure how much help I can be. Pretty much your ex is dating one of your new friends, he's being a jerk to you, and well if there's more to it then I'm lost.
I'm probably not going to be the best for this, but I'll try.

Try to sit somewhere else on the bus so you're not near him, and if there is assigned seating then get your parents to write you a note saying you need to be moved, or just talk to the bus driver. If you have any classes together with him, then talk to your guidance councilor and tell them that you don't think you'll reach your full potention (8th grade teacher of mine always used to say crap about "reaching your full potential" guess it rubbed off). When you're outside, if he's outside too, then just try to keep away from him. Avoiding him is a good way. Then again, you can't live life avoiding your problems, so maybe you can ask him why he's such a jerk to you now. If your relationship is close with your parents then you can always talk to one or both of them about his attitude towards you. Tell your parents that it's not like they have to fire his, but maybe to talk to his parents about their son or something.
Or just tell your parents to set you up a doctors appointment, ask to go in alone, and talk to the doctor about maybe putting you on some antidipressents or something. I'm no doctor, so I wouldn't know if you need them, but if you think you're depressed then you should get on some kind of medicine before you take things too far.
