umm i always heard too keep a slow but steady past thru the whole thing but like the last lap or whatever sprint as in a fast run to the end.. i hope i helped a little*kIm* ]
Run regularly if you want to get used to running quicker and better than usual.
Start out with a in between jog and sprint, like a steady pace. Keep this pace and every once in a while speed up for a few seconds and then run at your regular pace for 100 yards. (100 yds equal one straight.) Works for me!

well you definatly have to pace your self. So instead of running ahead of everyone and then becomming worn out near the end, if that si what you're doing, stop. But you could always jog everyday to last longer when you do run a mile.
good luck! ]
sprint=begining and end
:) thats what i have always been told.
because in the beg. in wanna get ahead of everyone that you can, and not get stuck behind a group of people. ]
dont go as fast as you can, but dont jog either. keep a fast, steady pace. every minute or so, sprint for just a little bit, and go back to normal.
im totally out of shape, and i did it in 6 something. ]
I know of two ways that work pretty well. I know that sprinting the first lap, jogging the two middle laps, and sprinting the last lap helps. Our track is 4 laps=1 miles though, yours may be different. If it's the same, then you can either do that, or stay at a steady pace the first 3 and a half laps, from the 3-one half to begining of the fourth lap start working your way up, then sprint the last lap.
Also, PRACTICE both methods to see which works better for you. Then again, you have to do it tomorrow, so the practicing probably won't take place. Make sure you're well rested and don't run too much before hand!!

Wow, 7min 16sec is already a really good score.. but anyways... you should jog most of the mile, at a steady pace and when you get close to the end, i.e. one more lap, sprint as fast as you can!! This has been recommended by all the PE/Track and Field teachers that I've known. Good luck. ]
Some people run as fast as they can, and then they don't have any energy to run later. Start of jogging not to fast in the beginning to the middle even if your the last one. Then go a little faster in the middle to the end, and at the very end sprint to the finish line. Also make sure to take deep breaths through your nose on a steady beat. It helps a lot to breath on counts of 8.
Hope I could help!

ok, well for maybe half the mile jog. then when your ready, switch into a sprint for a little bit. stop when theres about 3/10 of a mile left. then go back to a jog and even a walk if you need to. that should do it. hope i helped! nellie x0x ]
theres really no technique...some people like to sprint the beginning and jog the rest or jog then sprint the end. don't stop...and dont hurt yourself is all i can say. take good breaths and set a good pace for you. goodluck! <3 ]
