I have heard all of the news about this Swine Flu going around and it really scares me. (I am, by the way, talking about the H1N1 flu, commonly referred to as Swine Influenza.) I heard something like Egypt had all of their pigs killed to prevent the Swine Flu from spreading so badly to their country. The Swine Flu sounds really scary, especially since it has spread to my city!
What is the Swine Flu exactly? Does anyone know yet or is it still being tested upon and sorted out? I have no idea how the Swine Flu has spread but I figure it was like any other flu virus, right?
So, how can I protect myself from getting the Swine Flu? I want to take all of the preventative measures if possible because I know the Swine Flu is deadly, right? (How many has the Swine Flu killed already anyway? Does anyone know?!)

I have an idea for a book series, and I honestly really like it, but my agent would like me to try it out on others to see, what the reception would be like. So here it goes.

In the first book: To go back to her mothers childhood and spend more time with her mother.
Second Book: Go back to a historical event that changed history to see how different the world would be..

I liked Back to the Future, but I'm not into this type of book myself. I probably wouldn't read them but they sound interesting and I'm sure they would be popular.
I am going to question why an agent would want any author to put their ideas out in public for others to pick up and run with them. Seems a good agent would already have a feel for what publishers were looking for.
I'm not an expert but that would be suspicious to me.

I need some advice and info on this: my son is or was introuble with a vop and failure to appear and now he had a spat with his ex and she hit him and he hit back. she called police and he is running and hiding, He called to tell me this and to let me know she busted my cell phone but he is hiding. The interenet states the only case I can find is a reopened inactive one and that his lawyer has removed from it. What does this mean and what can I do ? (link)

I agree with Darby. He needs to turn himself in. Running just makes him look that much more guilty.
He may have to do a little jail time, he may just be fined. He will be in trouble for sure, but not near as much as running will get him.
I'm not 100% sure I understand your meaning about the lawyer either. It looks like he will probably have to get a new one. Since he didn't appear and basically left his lawyer looking like an idiot, he probably dropped him as a client, or "removed" himself from the case.
All you can do is encourage him to turn himself in so as to avoid worse trouble. Probably wouldn't hurt to give him a lecture about taking responsibility for his actions, good or bad.

Latly my dad has been acting strange. My parents are fighting all the time. I just found out a few months ago that my dad has been marryed before my mom.I also found out that they got devorced because my dad cheated on her...and not with my mom. He has been "working" over time alot. He gets drunk alot too. I find condoms all over there room. I know they could have been from my mom but I really just have a strange feeling about it. I know for a fact that he still talks to his ex wife. I really dont like my dad. I have been wishing for years that they would get a divorce. I think its possible your imagination may be working overtime.
1. Just because your dad was married before doesn't make him a bad guy. You know that. Why that relationship ended has nothing at all to do with you. Shows here you are 13. There really was no reason for you to know that info before now.
2. With luck someone who has cheated in the past learned from the mistake. Just because he cheated before does make him destined to do it again.
3. Working overtime usually resorts in extra income. Times are hard if you haven't been watching the news. :) Believe me, if he says hes working OT and no more money is entering the house, your mom would know it.
4. Getting drunk may mean he is depressed about something. Perhaps your parents are struggling to make ends meet these days. Getting drunk a lot doesn't solve anything, nor is it a good thing. It doesn't make your dad a cheater though.
5. Finding condoms all over their room would tell me they are getting along very well. Again, if you see them, why wouldn't your mother? Not very smart for a cheater to leave his hardware lying around for the whole family to see.
Now, you don't have to like your dad I don't suppose. Lets just assume though that since she married the guy, your mom loves him. Don't try to stir up trouble where there is none.

I have been dating my boyfriend for about 3 years now and his mother and i have always been nice to one another but i know that i have not always been her favortie person. She just does not like me very much. It has been a conflict in my boyfriend and i's relationship. She is a religious person and does not like some of the things i do it all started when she realized we were having sex then it went downhill from there but at the same time we are over 18 and i dont feel like it should be a large issue. I want to have a good relationship with her because she is his mother and its not fun when your mother and gf say negative things about one another so i want to try to make my relationship with her better i am just not sure how please help oh yes one more thing he is the baby of 5 i am not sure if that plays a part in any of it but just wanted to throw it out there THANKS! Mothers can be protective of their sons. I happen to love my current daughter in law though, so it is possible to have a good relationship with us mothers! LOL.
I think you need to sit down with his mother and have a talk. Invite her to lunch or for coffee maybe.
Tell her straight out that you would like to have a good relationship with her. Tell her you realize that you don't see everything the same way. Tell her you understand she may not approve of some of the things you do.
The most IMPORTANT thing you need to make her understand is that you love her son. That you want him to be happy. THAT goes a long, long way in getting approval!
Now, your boyfriend needs to be telling his mom how important you are to him too. Hes got to be careful he isn't just going along with her or ignoring any stabs at you she may make. He needs to support you and your relationship. Nicely but firmly put her in her proper place. If he lets her get away with it, she will continue.
Now, the hardest part of all this. I know, talking to her may be pretty tough, this will be harder though! No matter how the talk with her turns out, do not (not that you do now, I have no idea), but do not make any negative remarks about what an ass pain she is for a while. Smile, and ignore her if she makes remarks. This will let your boyfriend know that you are trying your best to get along. This will give him ammo should he feel the need to tell his mom "Look, she is trying, you are not."

Having a sick pet has to be the worst thing ever. All you can do is love her for the time you have left with her. Its such an awful feeling when you feel like you should be able to do something but really can't.
Please know that while she may look like she is in pain while having a seizure, she really isn't. Just stay with her and talk to her. She won't remember anything at all about it when she recovers. Just make sure she doesn't fall off the couch or something like that. Don't try to hold her still or anything.
Other than that there isn't much you can do. I'm sorry you have to go through all this. I love dogs and have lost a few. It is going to be very sad for you. Hang in there okay?

This is so complicated and BAD!!!
Well i live in ______, i havnt dated anyone for 1 year 5 months and 16 days, yes i have been counting and i hate dating, i don't think i should date if it's not going to be worth it, and i love being single.
Until this guy who blew my mind away, very good looking *drools* now here is the problem that i believe i cannot solve but i need help to get over it.
Well it all started the day i had a fight with my sister's boyfriend or fiance now. Well my sister did something and i told my sister's boyfriend (S)' bestfriend (B) who is also my bestfriend (B is a guy and im a girl), So B was extremely drunk and YES accidently (i trust B badly) told S, so my sister was mad, and because i did something like that to her and she can loose her boyfriend because of it, i had to fix it, so i told S i was lying.
From that day he doesn't speak to me and on the phone he told me "Do not ever talk to me again, i'm like a stranger to you, you're nothing but a liar"
anyways B would go out with S sometimes and sometimes with me.
Everyone thinks B loves me and that i love him back, but my feelings towards him is only friendship (then later i discovered he had feelings for me)
Once it was me and B just hanging out and we were bored, so we were like why don't we fool everyone and say we are dating, so i was like okay why not?
Anyways we said only for 3 days and then thats it.
But the joke was taking too long, and in front of people we acted as if we're dating and shit.
Until S got mad at B because he goes out with me more than him, and they stopped talking.
So S now is mad at me and B. anyways
Here where the only guy who managed to blow my mind comes in the picture who we will call M
I met M with some friends who is also S's friends and B's also.
One day me and M we're chatting on MSN and he asked if im single so i said yeah and that i dont date.
That was after the joke in couple of days (i totally forget about the joke)
Then afterwards he asked me if im dating B and i couldnt say yes because i had feelings for him and also because the day before i told him i don't date much and shit.
But he promised me he won't tell anyone.
He calls me like EVERYDAY, In an hour he leaves me 22 missed calls, he is the sweetest EVER. He is everything i want in life, he is amazing. and yes i fell head over heels in love with him.
then he admited he likes me, and i said it back to him. (until now noone knows about me and M)
And like when we're hanging out with friends he would hold my hand under the table and etc...
Once day i was tipsy and extremely happy because of M and i told B everything. but not the part that i like him too.
Next day was M's birthday, me and B went out to eat sushi, and B convinced me that M doesnt like me and that S had a deal with M to play with my feelings and as if im cheating on B in front of everyone so everyone would say "HAHA ___ the girl you'd leave me for is cheating on you" (No one knows the dating thing is a joke )
I 50/50 believed him, and B was like really demanding that i would stay away from M and he made me feel like shit and i couldn't tell him i like M.
I had to avoid M, and not even look him in the eye (we were in a bar for his birthday)
So the day after M's birthday and that is today, M called me 100 of times and i didnt answer, and he texted me alot asking whats wrong and etc... i felt so guilty
Me and B decided we would take O's and C's advice, surprisingly O and C said "M actually likes you but S convinced him to get you and S thinks you guys are dating and if you don't actually care about M just call him and tell him you dont have feelings for and just stay away"
So i was like no and shit, and O was like "why? it's not like you like him and you don't want everyone to say shit about B "
so i was like okay, i was trying to prove i don't actually like M
so i called him in front of the three of them and put it loudspeaker "hey" "hey" "how r u?" good n u" "good" "ookay M listen" "yeah" "Um, forget about us, just stay away from me and let it go" "why ____" "just let go" "fine" "bye" "bye" then he closed
so B was like "Why didnt you tell him the reason is because you don't like him"
i was like "i don't know, what? you want me to call him back "
he was like "No send him a message"
so i texted M "the reason is i have no feelings for u just stay away"
he texted me back "im fine with it! but you could've said it in a better way! thanks"
I felt like the biggest asshole and i couldn't do anything about it. I'm even scared to trust M, i'm starting to hate my 2 years bestfriend B because sometimes i would feel he tell people off because he wants me for himself.
When i went back home, M's Status on facebook was "What happened is funny, this world is weird"
I know i have to get over him, because i can't let B down and I can't let people know about us because i already said i don't like him and a lot of other reasons.
I don't want to solve the problem i just want to live with it.

This whole thing could be solved by honesty. Tell B you weren't lying. Tell him because he couldn't keep his trap shut you got in trouble with your sis, yadda yadda, tell him everything.
As far as M goes, I think they were lying about him. Even if he were in on some elaborate joke...and I don't think he was, you would not chase someone that hard unless you had feelings for them. I think he genuinely has feelings for you.
You need to go to M and explain it all to him from the beginning.
Will you piss them all off? Maybe. But why should you be miserable because of all them? You should have to pay because your sister did something she didn't want her boyfriend to know? Thats what started this whole thing.
I say you get them all together and tell them you aren't playing anymore. Get honest and see who sticks with you.

I'm 19, Ok so this is really making me extremly mad like beyond belive... my moms and step dad decided to move to kentucky and now they are doing really bad... she works everyday and off and on weekends to support her him and there 2 yearold daughter... he's not making any effort on any part to get a job... I'm about to snap on him seriously she 43 years old she doesn't need to be the only one making money and with econmy sucking already him not making an effort to get a job isn't helping them at all... and on top of buying everything she need for the 2 year old she is paying all the bills and her car and he thinks he can tell everyone what to do and she buying him his beer and carton of cigs when he needs it I think this is absuluty rediculous I really need help... I kinda talked to my moms about it but she's not doing anything about it... he keeps using their 2 year old as his cruch saying "well I need to watch her and blah blah blah blah" its really getting out of hand and he said he knows where places are hiring for job he just doesn't wanna waste the gas in my moms car (like she ever gets to drive anyways) please some1 help before I do something really stupid!!!!!! Maybe you should look at this from a less traditional point of view. This seems to be one of the still remaining stereotypes out there.
I have some experience with this because my sons ex worked and he was the "mom" for all intents and purposes. I know it seemed strange and was even looked down upon by many.
Neither are educated beyond high school. She, being a female, could more easily get a job around here. Females and minority's have a better chance of getting a job in lots of places. It shouldn't be that way, but that's the way it is.
I know in this day and age of 2 people incomes having a stay at home parent seems odd. Remember your mom isn't of this generation. With most incomes, the reality of it is this. Childcare, good childcare, is very expensive. The cost of it would wipe out all or almost all of one of the incomes anyway.
So, moms husband is a househusband. There is nothing wrong with that at all. Its non traditional, but maybe it works for them. They may not even like it, mom may want to be the one to stay home, but it could be she is more employable at this time.
So long as their bills are being paid and their child is being cared for, that's all that matters.
People do what they must. Try to be more supportive. I'll bet they would both appreciate it! :)

So he doesn't care if i give the baby away or abort it . But i lied and told him I did so he would leave me alone . I still have the baby and I dont care if i am alone Im stong . Who knows, you may fall in love with with other and live happily ever after! You never know.
I understand it is scary thinking things may not work out yet again. You do have to move on with your life though. You have to take a little risk or you will never find happiness.
Forget the ex. If he cared he would have been with you and your child already. He doesn't want to fall in love is a stupid excuse. You deserve someone who really cares. See how things go with the new guy and put the ex clear out of your life for good.

I'm not a guy but I think I can answer this simply for you. Its sex. LOL.
Some may feel it is less likely for a girl to get pregnant. Thats not necessarily true. Sperm tends to leak out & travel.
It is something that inexperienced teens should not try. It can be extremely painful and can put you at increased risk for STDs due to tearing of delicate tissue.
I think the real answer to your question though, is that most are seeing it as sex without risk of pregnancy.

i MIGHT be pregnant. like, if anything, id be about 1 or 2 weeks along. im not sure. but all day today whenever i would move weirdly, id get a sharp pain in my abdominal area. and earlier my boyfriend picked me up and swung me around and my body twisted and the pain went really sharp in my stomach. it hurt really bad, and it has ceased a little, but not stopped completely. could it have hurt the young fetus, or is this something else? like, am i having a miscarriage?
as i said, its too early to take a pregnancy test, but it is possible. ive been having a few symptoms. but this pain has not stopped. if im NOT pregnant, what could this be? the pain also happens when i press down on my stomach. if i barely apply any pressure on my stomach, it hurts badly. can someone answer my questions, please? thank you to anyone who answers. None of us here are doctors. If your body is acting odd then you really do need to see one and ask.
That being said, a fetus is very well protected in a woman's uterus. Nothing you mentioned would necessarily indicate a miscarriage. If it hurts to press your abdomen then don't. There are plenty of organs in there, it could be anything or nothing at all.
Check with your doctor to find out for sure, if it is still bothering you today.

I have been in a relationship with my boyfriend Mark for almost four years now. He just turned thirty and I am 21 so this age difference could very well be part of the problem. We started off long distance, but when I started college I was only a 45 min drive from him. At the end of my freshman year we got an apartment together and still live together. The problem is I was a smoker when we started dating, and he knew this. I was also aware that he hated smoking and told him that I would quit someday. He has a valid reason for hating smoking, He wears a hearing aid and has been told that his hearing problem was caused by his mother smoking while she was pregnant. I have tried to quit several times and we have had several arguments over the topic. Each time I say I'm going to quit but it never works cuz I always lose my motivation. We broke up for two months over it, but neither one of us ever moved out of our apartment so it was really arkward. I had been quit for about a month when he decided to end it, he said that he was still hurt because it took me so long to do it. We eventually got back together but decided to go to counseling. Unfortunately, the week before this happened I had smoked again for the first time in months. In therapy I agreed to quit smoking, and he agreed to trust me that I would quit and to but the past behind him. THe problem was I slipped up and had ONE cig at work. I came home and kissed him and he noticed. He is very angry and is considering ending the relationship over it! he says that I cant care about him if i continue to smoke, but he doesnt understand that its an addiction. He is refusing to discuss the situation until we can get back into counseling but our appointment isn't for another week and I'm going nuts! What should I do? I dont want this relationship to end because things were going very well for a long time until recently. I should not have smoked but I was so stressed and did not think I could function if I did not have something to calm me down. Is there anything I can do to help the situation at this point? (link)

You don't go into a relationship and then attempt to change someone. It doesn't work regardless of the fault.
He knew you were a smoker. He moved in with you knowing you were a smoker. Now, his wants are more important than yours.
So, even though smoking is bad for you, his getting on his high horse now is a bit late. If he can't understand how hard it is to quit, if he can't be happy with the fact you are trying, he isn't worth it. Wouldn't be to me anyway. It just sounds like an excuse to get out of the relationship.
Smoking is one of those habits that you have to really want to quit yourself. Doing it for someone else just does not work.

More than likely your hymen was broken. The hymen
is not "inside" the vagina, it is actually external. It covers the vagina on the outside. So
it is not deep at all. It is possible that it was not completely torn away, but if his fingers were in your vagina, then he probably tore at least a part of it away.
