hey there, some of you know that I answered a LOT of questions in this site. My friend doesnt have internet in her house so she asked me to ask for your opinion.
She likes her best guy friend, a lot, she cant stop thinking about him and she always gets upset when hes around other girls. I know he considers her as his sister, HE TOLD ME!
What she wants to do is let him realise she likes him more than a friend but I told her it would screw up everything! things would get awkward and stuff. So what she's asking is, should she tell him? Personally I dont think she should.
And she also asked why he hangs out and fools around with other girls instead of her?
I told her because you dont have the same interests and he thinks youre too calm (he told me). So do you agree with me or do you have another opinion? (link)

I do agree with you, you seem like a wonderful friend who cares enough about her best friend that she doesn't want to see her hurt. Wow. Ok, but, have you told your best friend that her best guy-friend thinks of her as a sister rather than something else? I know how much this might hurt her, my goodness, I know. I had the same thing going on in my life, only it was my best friend - aka - sister, who told our guy-friend that she thought of him as a brother. I know how badly the person might hurt, but I think that this might be the best thing to tell her, because once she knows this, it might help her see everything else a little bit more realistically. I could be wrong.. but it helped here. I also think that her best guy-friend should know that she likes him. Sure, it might be a little awkward, but, if she doesn't tell him, there wont be that much of a change. What I mean is, you might want to think about telling him. That way he'll know how she feels, she'll know how he feels, and then you just have to let time work it out. I know how hard it is, but it's still probably the best thing.
One thing, "I told her because you dont have the same interests and he thinks youre too calm" I can understand calm, but sometimes having different intrets can be good, because if they have the exact same likes and dislikes, they'll try and out-do each other. But it's still a must to have a common bond.. which they obviously have somewhere, otherwise they wouldn't be such good friends. Being calm is a good thing. If she wasn't calm, she might flip off the roof if she saw her guy friend with another girl, even if he was only saying, "Hi" or something, she'd still take it the wrong way. I am calm, and part of that is because I almost live in a barn.. with horses... but it's still good that she's calm. And normally, a calm girl and a less-calm guy are seen together because the girl can help bail the guy out of his problems when he does something wild and crazy. And sometimes the boy is calm but the girl is crazy.. and the guy helps the girl get out of stupid mistakes.. but you get the idea. Obviously, the guy isn't interested.. and there's not much y'all can do about it. I think you should tell him how your best friend feels, and you should tell your best friend how the guy feels... and pray about it. Sorry I couldn't help more..

Ok, the Sultan of Brunei asked me over for lunch the other day (I'm a top executive to him, he sells oil to the USofA, and I suggest prices for the barrels he sends out) and I've gotta admit - It's the coolest palace I remember even being in. However, Mr. Sultan, at the lunch table, had a peice of Saudi-spinach (somewhat like the American stuff only it's covered in sand) in his teeth. So I was like, "Hey, Sultan, you got some Saudi-spinach in you're teeth. Might want to extract that before our big oil meeting." However, a certain hand gesture (pointing at my teeth) was an inside joke he had been holding for 23 years and found it as offensive. So later on that day, after I was kicked out somewhat violently by some masked guys, I walked through a sandstorm to my house somewhat dejected because I had been demoted from "Top Executive" to "Oil Salesman." My salary went from 780,000 dollars a year to 200,000 in one day. I'm wondering if you wonderful advice columnists can help me get my "Top Executive" ranking in the Oil Heirarchy back. (link)

Ok.. well, this almost sounds like a joke, but I'm not going to treat it that way, because I suppose that it's possible this could happen.
Does the Sultan realize that it was a joke? If not, then you should explain yourself to him. In fact, you should explain yourself to him anyway! Ask why you were demoted, and apologize. Oh my gosh! I said "apologise"!! I know, that's almost a sin now, but it might be worth it, even if you didn't do anything wrong, sometimes your bosses get... big egos. (to say the least.) So, explain yourself... that's all I know to do. Oh, by the way, that was kind of you to tell the Sultan that he had sand-covered spinach stuck in his teeth. That would ruin his dignity if people saw that.. better one to see it than a whole team of workers, right? That's a large demotion, and a large cut in your salary too... you should explain yourself. Take your boss out to lunch, then explain yourself, apologise, and pray for the best. (boss might like a nice, free lunch...) And if you can't get your old job back, you can put out an ad in the newspaper for a job that requires an experienced "Top Executive" in the "Oil Heirarchy", or you could attempt to work your way back up the ladder to your old job. Sorry I couldn't help more.. oh, that's pretty bad that you were kicked out violently.. but don't include that in your explanation to the boss, it might make you sound like a whiney brat. (no offense, but that's just a suggestion.) Sorry it took so long to reply, I was out of town for the weekend.

As my title says, my friends tend to be really mean to me. We had a free Spanish period today because there was a substitute, and they ignored me the whole time. They were making plans to go shopping for bathing suits, and go snowboarding with each other, and didn't ask me to join them. One of my friends just randomly tells me to shut up, and she thinks it's just a joke. They tell each other stuff and don't tell me, and then they talk about it right in front me. Basically, they treat me horribly, and I really don't need it from them. What am I supposed to do?? (link)

Awfully, sadly, you should get new friends. If they're going to be so cruel to you, you should ditch them and find some nice people to hang out with. Though, you should tell them what you're feeling before you totally pull away. Just be like, "Are you aware of the fact that you hurt me sometimes when you leave me out, and I don't like it when you tell me to shut up. Maybe you could try to include me more, ok?" and if they don't listen to you, then you should find some new friends. There isn't much else you can do besides try to make them know how you're feeling. If they don't care, they're not your true friends anyway. Sorry, this is a bummer.

Dude, you're not short. I don't think there's really a way to get taller than besides growing normally. I'm shorter than you, same age and stuff.. believe me, if there was a way to get taller faster, I'd know. You could stuff your shoes, wear heels and such... and broken patterns on pants (like camo) make your legs look longer. Hang out with short people if you prefer, but my friends are tall, and I like them that way. Though, I'd like them just as much if they were short. Eat your veggies, drink alot of milk, and be happy with how God made you!

Ok, as sad as this is, it is all too common. Think back to your vacation, did you say anything that might have started this? Hung out with a guy she likes? (boys are commonly the cause of best friend break ups, sadly) Maybe not. It could be that she heard a rumor about her or you, and she got mad, or someone else said something to her. What do you do? I would write her a letter, yes, an old fashioned letter with a stamp and envelope, and mail it to her. You could write it on the computer and not put your name on it until the end where you sign it, and then she'd sortof be forced to read it. (or at least be curious enough to read it) and if you say you're sorry, and want to be friends, but you don't know why she's mad at you, she might listen. You could ask another one of her friends why she's mad at you, you could e-mail her, or ask her face to face. I'm sorry this happened, pray about it. I hope things get better! If she doesn't listen to you, you should try and find another friend. I know it's hard to move on, but if you let her get to you, she'll know and might be happy.

Okay. This is a normal feeling that most teenagers go through, when they're testing their faith. I'm a Christian, and I'm glad that you asked this question instead of just letting your doubt run wild with you. Oh, a warning, this will more than likely be long.
Ok, so, you are a Christian. "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord", and believe in your heart God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." - Romans 10:9. If you have done this at one point in time, you are a Christian, and, good news! you can't lose your salvation! There are but two unforgiveable sins: 1) Proclaiming to be God. Not just joking, but seriously believe and convince others that you are God. People will worship you. This would mean you're the AntiChrist.
2) Rejecting God's free gift of eternal life.
Those are the only sins that are unforgiveable! You are not the AntiChrist, and you've accepted God's gift of salvation already, so, you're set! You can't lose what was already given to you! God's not going to take that back.
You said that you wanted to be reminded of His grace and glory, well, my friend, look around you. Do you think that the trees just popped up? That is God's glory! God created those trees so that we could breathe! So we could have shade! For firewood! God gave us cows so we could have hamburgers! We have pets that comfort us when we seem to have no friends, we have nice places to live, a computer with Internet service, great friends, a Bible!! A BIBLE!! That is God's mercy, glory, and grace! Why did God send His only - ONLY - son to die for you and I? Dude, I don't deserve it. No one deserves it. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" - Romans 3:23. That means that there is no mortal human being who is perfect! Only Jesus was perfect! (and God and the Holy Spirit, but they are one..)
I know that you probably know this verse back and forth, inside and out, but..."For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only begotton Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." - John 3:16-18
Alas, my friend, if we did not have Christ, we would be condemned to suffer eternally in Hell. Is that your dream getaway? It's definitely not something I would want to spend one hour doing, let alone eternity. So, as you see, God's love is abundant. Gosh, God is so forgiving! You see, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Man, I'm gonna put this in perspective. If you had this huge test coming up, and you had to study really, really hard for it, and your mom said to go to your room and study for an hour, then you could mess around on the Internet. So, you break out the books, and you faithfully study for forty-five minutes. Then, you grab a magazine, and start reading. Before you know it, the other fifteen minutes are gone! Your mom asks if you've studied for an hour, and you say, "Yes, ma'am." So you can mess around on the computer. If you did even this sin, lying to your mom, (and disobeying her too) then you would die! Burn in Hell. Not a pretty thought, eh? Well, that's another factor of God's grace. He forgives us for all things, lying, murdering, stealing, disobedience, adultery, you name it, God'll forgive it.
I would suggest that you find a close, Christian peer, someone maybe older than you who can be your mentor. They can help you keep your life on track with God, and it'll feel so much better knowing that you've got someone to confide in. You should start reading God's word daily. Start with a Gospel (Matthew, Mark, Luke or John) or the Psalms. I began with the Psalms, because they're fairly easy to comprehend. Very uplifting too! Don't take on more than you can manage, including starting with a book of the Bible that is too hard, like Revelations. That is way too deep for someone who needs encouragement, not to be terrorized about what is to come.
I love outdoors. That is how I find God's glory. I have horses, yes, and God has blessed me with those wonderful animals. Whenever I'm down, I can always go outside, climb a tree, look at my horses grazing, think of God... and soon, I'm feeling better. God's glory is all around us. I love things like eclipses, that is amazing! It shows how complex our Universe is, and it reflects it's Creator. The flowers... amazing! "'Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!'" - Luke 12:27-28 Amazing! God gives us beautiful grasses, that are here today, but tomorrow are thrown into the fire. You are much more important than grasses!! God loves you, my friend! Dude! You rock! Look, I've never had a boyfriend, I'm the same age as you.. same gender too. lol. Ok, well, I can't play b'ball ... but, I do enjoy baseball, sports, and I'm a tomboy too. I don't care if I have a farmers tan, I'm a farmer's granddaughter! .. yeah. So, no. There's nothin' wrong with not having a boyfriend, and that's incredibly sweet that you like your best friend! That's ok. Does he know? He might like you too, if he knew. And, I have a good deal of guy-friends too, actually, I have more true guy-friends than I do girl-friends. Weird. There's nothing wrong with being who you are! God made you the way He wanted you to be, and if you're a tomboy, live up to that! Don't stop playin' b'ball if that's what you love, do it with pride. Just because you're the only girl that can shoot a ball into the basket doesn't mean you're weird. And, just because you're a tomboy doesn't mean that you wont be able to have a boyfriend. You should tell your best friend that you like him... he might like you too. You'll never know unless you ask. I'm glad you asked this question.

Um.. sure. Ok, on the frozen pizza box, on the back, it has the different ways you can have your crust - soft, hard, or crispy.. whatever. And then it gives you the temperatures for the crust you choose. Then you set the oven for that so it can preheat. Then, while the oven is preheating, you remove the pizza - still frozen - from the box, then the plastic wrapper. Then place the pizza on a pizza tray that you've sprayed with Pam (no stick cooking spray) and, once the oven has preheated, you place the pizza - which is on the tray - in the oven. You then set the timer for however long the back of the pizza box says to cook it. When the timer goes off, look at the pizza - the crust should be sortof golden brown and the cheese slightly melted. Take the pizza out of the oven, set it on the stove top so it wont burn the counter, turn off the oven, and let the pizza cool for a few minutes. Then, slice the pizza with a pizza cutter (or a knife) and eat!

Ok so I'm 15/m, and I was at a school function, and some girl that I didn't know danced with me. So after I left she got my AIM screen name from one of my friends and went home and asked me to the prom and and asked if I would go over to her house Friday to have dinner and a movie and all that stuff. hmm... I say to tell her the truth. "I have to floss my dog that day... sorry. I can't come over.. maybe another day... but I have to floss the neighbors dogs too." lol... Really. Tell her the truth, but you can still talk to her... not all girls are capable of "getting away with murder"... though some are... well, come to think of it, you shouldn't risk it. Don't hang out with her. All she has to do is kill you, then bat her eyelashes, and, *poof* no trouble at all.
Ok, seriously now. Talk to her... but that's all for now. Suggest that she go with someone else to the prom. :)

The other night I went to the gym for the first time in awhile. I was working out on the bike and all of a sudden I started getting a charlie horse (a cramp) on my right calve. It started hurting bad, but I didn't want to get up and start running around looking like an idiot, so I kept working out for like a minute, then I couldn't take it anymore so I went into the locker room and walked it off. It took awhile, the cramp part is gone. Its now wednesday and my leg still hurts, badly. I can really flex it while walking. And if you touch the back of my LEFT calve, its flubber-ish like most calves, then when you touch my right one, its soo stiff and it hurts. I've stretched it numerous times today but its not helping. Whats wrong with it and what should I do? (link)

hmm... I'm no doctor, and that sounds like what you might want to visit. When you got the cramp, it is because you were overworking the muscle ever so slightly, and just needed to stretch the muscle out. Because you didn't and kept working, this made the muscle tighter. Have you ever tried to do something when you were really, really cold? Like, so cold that your muscles were tense? It's hard, right? Well, you were working the muscle harder than it's used to while it was contracted. (you shouldn't work a muscle when it's contracted or "tight" or "tense") You've probably overworked the muscle, stressed it, strained it, or worse case scenario, torn it. Talk to your mom and go to the doctor. Be more careful next time you're exercising! Hope it's nothing bad. Talk to God about it, He'll help it heal faster!!

Everyone is always saying "I hate tanlines" blah blah blah. Is it wierd that I actually like them? Like if you wear a tube top after wearing a bathing suit that ties around your neck, or if you had cris cross straps on your back. Wow, you're really wierd! No, I'm kidding. I don't guess it's weird, just expressing your own mind. Be different! "Do not conform any longer to this world..." (that's from Galatians) anyway.. nah, not weird. Though the only "tan lines" I have is from a farmers tan, but I don't mind... it just shows that I'm not afraid of hard work. So, in a sense, we're the same... while being different. It's not weird.

OK i wrote about wanting to get my dad back as coach for little league because him and my friends dad as coach were awesome together and we had tons of fun. I have this as a petition but i dont know if i like it. Do you like it? Do you have any suggestions for a different way to word it? Thanks I'll rate 5's because i know this takes a bunch of effort

Last year's Senior League team was a lot of fun and team includes the coaches!! So if everyone had fun..why the change? The signatures of last years' players/parents show that they want Fred and Dave coaching again. (Along with Liz P.. new this year)They worked together great! Everyone from last year wants this year to be just as fun or better..and part of making it that fun is having our favorite coaches back again! So we ask the board to please make Dave and Fred coaches of this year's Girls Senior League Team. It means a lot to the players,Fred, and Dave. (link)

hmm... I like it... though I would make some minor word changes, as you will see when I type the paragraph over. Don't use doubled punctuation (the doubled excitement marks and such) because it seems almost... gaudy. Just a friendly warning..)

I think I spelled everything correctly and punctuated it well, but you still might want to check. Last names and full titles make it seem more profesional, and word repetition doesn't work very well. I hope ya'll get your coaches back! Pray about it, if God wants them to be coaches, then they'll be coaches. But you should still do the petition. :)

Ask your boyfriend to go home. If you can't handle the pressure, and he can't either, ask him to go home. It isn't right to lose your virginity until you get married just because of a mood swing. (I'm a girl and hate to call them that, but that's what they are) Talk to your boyfriend and tell him that you are not going to lose your virginity with him, that you're going to wait until you're married. If he doesn't accept it, then he's not the guy you need to be with anyway. Pray for strength.

What do you do when everyone tells you you're something you're not, just to make you feel better? I am tired of it. Everyone says I'm not fat when I know I am, and they say boys are chsasing after me, when they are running. It just makes me feel worse and they won't stop. I don't care about boyfriends. Most of them are jerks anyways. I have friends that are boys, but no one has ever shown affection toward me, for real. I don't care but I want my friends to leave me alone about it. What do I do?

Tell your friends that you appreciate them trying to cheer you up, but that it's ok. You don't feel that you need it. Believe me, guys can be awful jerks at times, but there are really sweet, kind, Christian guys out there that will love you. I have a few Christian guy-friends, and they're awesome. Don't fret because your guy friends don't show affection towards you that way, your time will come. God is providing someone for you, and that guy will come along at the right moment. Watch your words, be kind when you talk to your friends. You might need to explain yourself, that you don't care about having a boyfriend right now, and it bugs you when they keep on and keep on at you. I understand that. I have friends that are "matchmakers", but I have explained that I'm letting God write my love story, I don't need that. Tell your friends that too, they'll get the idea, and appreciate that you told them. Don't listen to them when they say that "you're something you're not". Be who God made you! God made you before time even began, you are a work of art. There's no way that you can be "fat" or whatever, because God made you the way He wanted you to be. If you think you're fat, do some exercises that will help you lose that. Talk to God about it too.

Is a teacher allowed to bring down your grade because you forgot a book or a packet that you need for that class? (link)

Yes, unfortunatly, the teacher is allowed to do that. Because the book or packet was required or needed for the class, and you forgot to bring it, the teacher is allowed to lower your grade. Yeah.. if this happened to you, maybe you could do some extra credit work or something to bring the grade up. How much the teacher lowered the grade depends on how much you needed the book or packet.

Hey... I have a concern I may have an illness or a disease, but I've no idea what it is... here are my symptoms:
-difficulty breathing, even after the shortest amount of exercise
-always very thirsty
-trouble sleeping
-can't handle eating anything acidic (nothing with tomatoes, citrus, or spicy things)
-always cold, even when it's 70 degrees out.
(Some might not be related)
Perhaps I'm just being paranoid, but these things are really starting to bug me. My friends all say I'm just paranoid, and that it's all in my head, but what do they know?

Well, difficulty breathing, trouble sleeping, can't handle eating acidic things, and being thirsty could be acid reflux disease, maybe even the being cold too. It could be that you're just paranoid, but keep in mind the possibilities of sickness. Being cold though, don't worry about that! I'm always cold. (even when it's 102 outside, I can be cold!! With no air conditioner!) So you might just be cold natured. You might have anxiety if you have trouble sleeping, you might have an ulcer... in your stomach wall. That would cause the thirstiness, trouble sleeping and problems eating some things, maybe trouble breathing.. and then again, they might not linked at all. If it continues, tell your mom, and maybe suggest a doctors appointment. Pray about it, I hope you feel better soon!

ok this is probably the most asked question EVER. lol, but what do i do about guys. i mean, whenever is see a nice guy at my church...the mall...idk around, i ALWAYS want to talk to them, but i never do. I wanted to know how to talk to guys without feeling stupid or embarassed...or without having them think im a freak or like a terrorist. lol. but sometimes they are surrounded by girls. Like this one kid i saw today at my church, he was hott and really funny, but he was SURROUNDED by girls that were his friends. i wanted to talk to him soo much, but i couldnt do it. i need to be more comfortable around guys, but how do i do it?? Woohoo! Shy girls rock!! (I'm a shy girl, thus, I rock!! lol just kidding..) No, really. I'm shy too. Try and find something in common with this dude, get a girl-friend to go up to him with you so ya'll can talk, get his AIM screen name and e-mail. I know how you feel. Even around my closest guy friends sometimes I don't talk at all, I'm afraid to go up to them, etc. Thankfully, they know this, and will typically come up to me, say "hi" first, join me, invite me, etc. But, I still had to get up the courage to go up and introduce myself. (Don't you love group settings where everyone introduces themselves at the same time?) But I guess all you need to do really is get their AIM screen names and e-mail addresses. I find it easier to talk online than to talk in person because your facial expressions don't show! (it rocks because you can be totally mad, but act really happy, and then, you're happy pretty soon!) It makes you harder to read, you could be hiding something, and they'd never know. So, try and get the AIM and e-mail address. Take it to God. Pray about it. God will give you the courage to go up and talk to some dude. SMILE!! :D That makes you seem so much friendlier if you have a good attitude and facial expression. (and if you don't want people to notice you, pretend to go to sleep. And if you're mad and want people to look at you and run, scowl really deeply...) Pray. That's the best thing you can do.
