Q: I'm 15 years old and I've never had a boyfriend. Pathetic, I know. The main problem people keep telling me is that when i like a guy i tend to be shy around him. I like this one guy right now and he knows i like him thanks to one of my big mouth friends. We've talked online maybe twice before he found out i liked him but thats the only time we've ever talked. When i see him in the halls he looks at me...what does that mean? How can i get him to like me without coming on to him as a stalker?

Oh, that's not pathetic at all! I know someone who's 18 and hasn't had a boyfriend. You have no reason to feel pathetic.
Anyway, onto your real problem:
So you're shy around the guys you like, and the guy you like knows you like him.
You can't technically get a guy to like you, really. But you can get to be friends =) Just talk to him like you'd talk to anyone. I know, easier said than done. Trust me, I know. But you've still gotta talk to him. He knows who you are. So what if he knows you like him? You can use that to your advantage! You can talk without flirting, or flirt a little. If he responds decently, keep it up. If not, tone it down. You'll know what to do.
Go with your instincts. Every girl has them, you just need to be more confident in yours!
You won't come on to him as a stalker if you don't follow him around, don't go out of your way to talk to him - just talk to him when he passes by, etc.
I hope this helps - if you wanna talk more, or anything, you can contact me again, or IM me (SirenCytherea) I'm always willing to try harder!

Q: i read that you can analyze dreams.. and i had this really wierd one..
about a month or two ago.. I was in canada and a few days after i got back i got this dream.. and there was this hotel.. and when i went into the elevator there was this gold floating thing with a button on it, so i pressed the button and it took me up the elevator i got out off on my friends floor in the hotel to go visit her and showed her the "elevator ball" and when i went to throw it to make it float as it had done in the elevator, it just dropped. also, i kept forgetting things , i forgot my ski pants, my boots, etc. but the wierdest thing of all is, the whole time during the dream i was dizzy and it was hard to keep my eyes open, and it felt like my eyes were puffy.. In the dream! i dont get it, i dont have any of those eye symptoms in real life..

Wow, this dream is filled with symbols...Okay, what I get from this is that something you want temporarily will be out of your reach in one way or another, and you won't quite recognize that it's what you want. The fact that the "elevator ball" dropped when you tried to show it to your friend symbolizes that it could possibly "fall" into your reach, but by the time it does you may not want it anymore. The dizziness suggests instability - perhaps an uncertainty of what you really want? The puffy eyes suggest blindness to something, maybe blindness to what you want...
This makes me think of a crush, maybe getting a crush on a guy but not realizing it until its in your reach, and then when it gets into your reach, you may not want it anymore...
I never guarantee ANY of my predictions or analyzations, just so you know. These are just things I "get" from the dream.
I hope this helps - if you have any more questions or details you forgot or you feel like I missed something, lemme know!

Q: Me and my boyfriend did it on the 11th (i remember because i went to my friends party afterward). The first time we did it we used protection then we took a break and did it again but didn't use protection bc we didn't have any and I know that was stupid of me. The second time we only did it for about 5-10mins. A week or so passed and I took a test to see if I was pregnant, I wasn't. On the 25th I was suppose to have my period which didn't happen. Should I be worried or whats going on plez help I can't ask my parents bc they'll never look at me again.

Aww, sweetheart...
You're not on birth control, right? Okay. The first two times I did it with my guy, I wasn't on birth control, and my periods were NEVER on time. Freaked me out to no end, until I figured out that they came between 23 and 30 days, not every 28 days.
You're fifteen, though. Chances are, your periods will still not be perfectly on time. If you want them to be perfectly on time, get yourself on the pill. Even then, they can be a few days early or late.
Give it a few more days, and if you still don't get your period, test it again.
If it comes out negative again, you might wanna tell your mom you haven't gotten your period in awhile, and you wanna go to a doctor to see what's up.
Parents are one hell of a lot more understanding than you'd think, really. They're also your best resources. I strongly reccomend talking to whichever one, you're more comfortable with.
I hope this helps!

Q: this is dumb. but i wanna be a singer SO BAD! i know your a singer.. so what should i do to get started.. i don't take lessons- so im thinking about that.. but what else should i do?

I love singing - there's nothing dumb about wantng to be a singer. =)
Well, definitely take lessons. You've gotta develop good technique so you can sing for hours on end and not kill your voice. ^_^ Even if you don't wanna do classical singing like I do, classical TRAINING helps you sing everything without killing your voice. (This is how I can sing Evanescence at the top of my lungs for an hour and still go sing at a concert and sound great).
As far as getting your name out there, competitions. Do stuff with your choir, etc. Just be active in the music area.
But mostly, take lessons. Your teacher will be able to give you tips and give you things to compete in, etc.
The vocal world is very competitive, just as a warning - but it's a lot of fun.
Good luck with all that, and if you need/want more help/advice, don't hesitate to talk to me. I hope this helped!

Q: this is a stupid question but i'll ask it anyway. What should you tell a guy if he ask you if you're a virgin? Evereyone is telling me different. some of my male friends tell me that you should defenetly tell them that your a virgin because all guys like the girls to be like pure and clean and stuff (i dont know, thats what they tell me) and that if your a virgin they will like you more because it will be like a big deal for them..you know, to get a virgin to lose her virginity is big, it will make them proud of them selves or something. And some of my friends tell me that they always go for girls that lost their virginity already because that would make them more experienced and stuff. And it will make the sex better.. And that it wont be as gross as having sex with a virgin..I dont know im soo confused! I dont want the guy to think that im a slut! but should i tell him that ive already done it so he likes me more? please don tell me to tell him the truth! tell me the truth, what do most guys like? Thank you! (K)

The only stupid questions are the ones left unasked ^_^.
I know you don't want to hear "tell him the truth," but honestly, that is, in fact, what I would do.
My deal is that I want a guy to like me, or wanna have sex with me because of who I am, not because of who he thinks I am. If he knows you're inexperienced, he'll probably be gentler. There's also nothing gross about having sex with a virgin.
If you are a virgin, chances are you may bleed, the first time. My first time, it hurt like hell...and there's always the possibility that he'd find out you lied to him, due to all that.
If you AREN'T a virgin, however, he may know that virgins sometimes bleed, and if you don't he may figure out that you lied to him anyway.
I always expect the worst, and I always end up thinking "if I don't tell the truth, this'll happen, and then THIS'll happen, and ohgod, they'll figure out I lied!"
I learned after awhile to tell the truth.
Though since your question was really about what guys in particular like, I would guess that they like to hear "I'm a virgin". As you said, getting a virgin to lose her virginity is big, and would probably make them proud.
Unless you're going after a really sleazy guy, I wouldn't pretend to be more experienced than you are. Or less.
If you're going for a pretty clean-cut kinda guy who's just curious, tell him you're a virgin, if you are.
More experience doesn't necessarily make sex better. For instance, my guy and I have been having sex for awhile, and I still don't orgasm every time. More experience just means you know what to expect (and possibly what you like).
Just to clear this up, I do not advocate lying in ANY way, shape, or form, and I stand by the saying "honesty is the best policy" because so far, for me, it really has been. I completely disapprove of lying.
Really, the truth can't get you hurt any more than lying can. If the guy doesn't want you because you're a virgin, you don't want him. Sex should not be all that a relationship is about. The same goes with not being a virgin. If the guy doesn't want you because you've had sex before, you don't want him. Just felt like I should say that...
I hope this helps! If you have more questions, comments, whatever, don't hesitate to talk to me!

Q: Can you really analyze dreams? Cause last night I had a terrible nightmare..this alcoholic came in throught the window and started pulling my moms hair, and he pulled so hard that her eyes got pulled back so she looked japanese almost..and i dont know it was just really scary..it sounds weird but i couldnt stop crying,Oh yeah, the alcoholic was gonna do something to one of our neighbors and my mom tried to help and thats when he started pulling her hair and stuff and also..befor all this happened I kept looking out the window and I always saw this flying plastic bag..It's a very weird dream..and it freaks me out!! can you tell me if there's some important message here? Hmm...it'd probably be a bit easier to analyze this over IM so I can ask you questions, but so far, what I gather from the details I have is this:
- you have either a fear of alcohol/alcoholics/alcoholism, or someone in your family/someone close to you is an alcoholic, and you're afraid they'll hurt someone.
- I'm guessing you're pretty close with your mom. As we all do, you're probably worried about her getting hurt.
(Does your mom have a connection with anyone who used to be an addict to anything? If so, that could be what this whole dream is about)
- The plastic bag...clear/white/black? If it was clear, I'm guessing it's a symbol of distorting a truth, or something confusing you.
If it was white, I'm guessing it's a kind of "this will turn out good" sort of thing.
If it was black, I'm guessing it's a bad omen of some sort or another.
If there are more details of the dream, or you feel like I'm missing something, don't hesitate to talk to me again, or IM me (SirenCytherea) I'm on pretty much every night.
I hope this helps!

Q: hey i asked earlier about possible duets for dating couples for the talent show..well today everyone was like saying my boyfriend is gay because hes a good singer, and they were like, guys dont sing. only a couple people said it though. and today we went and watched the seventh grade talent show and i sat next to him and all the little seventh graders were saying it to.. well some of them. it's getting really annoying, what should i do? i mean, im not gonna break up with him because i love him but i just wanna make them stop.

Wow, that's stupid. It's also extremely immature, and I'd point that out to them. Some of my best friends are guys who sing, and NONE of them are gay. I take offense to that statement. I'm not a guy, but I do sing. Gr.
Does vocal ability determine your sexuality? If guys sing and it makes them gay, if girls DON'T sing, does that make them gay? It's ridiculous. Try giving them that little spiel.
Have you told them he's not, and you'd appreciate it if they stopped? If so, and they haven't, I would, more than anything, try to ignore it. I know it'd be difficult - trust me, I've been having to ignore and disprove rumors about myself and one of my guy friends lately, and it's driving me nuts - but if you let them see that it doesn't get to you, chances are, they may stop.
They're just trying to get a reaction. Either that, or they're just really, really stupid.
I hope this helps!

Q: Ok, here's the deal. I have HIGH morals, and one of them is that i dont want to kiss a guy untill i get married. Well. theres this guy that i really like and he likes me. and if we go out i know that he'll wanna kiss me and i've been thinkg about it and i wanna kiss him. what do i do?? I am afraid if i dont then i'll regret it. And i think i'll regret it if i don't.
What do I do ??

Whoa, you want to wait 'til marriage to KISS a guy? Kissing is definitely a special thing, but it's not nearly the same as losing your virginity. I mean, kissing doesn't have to be a huge deal. It's fairly innocent. If you think about it, all it is, really, is touching lips. If you're going to wait for marriage for something, I would make it sex - chances are you're not planning on doing that before marriage either, but really...
Kissing is fun. Nothing beats that lightheaded, off-balance feeling a really good kisser can give you. You can't get pregnant from kissing, and you don't HAVE to get carried away in the "heat of the moment". Save that for later.
Just go with it. You like him, he likes you, let the boy kiss you.
I hope this helps!

Q: I have a problem, i like a guy and im really not sure if he likes me back. Some of the advicenators told me he does and some said maybe he's beeing too friendy. When we're around our friends, we always glance at each other and our eyes meet sometimes but we look away.
Anyway...
Yesterday I was absent so I asked my gf to say hi to him for me.
So he was surprised and asked her if I were sick and she said I was. She said he thought for a moment and then thanked her.
So, does this mean he's concerned? My other friends were surprised too, so does this mean he cares about me?
Today, I went to school cause I was feeling better.
First time we ran into each other, he was with a friend of his, so he said "Whats up?" without even looking me in the eye, just as he walked.
So I said "hey", like a cheerful hey with a lot of happiness in it, but not a "hey!" like a cheerleader, lol.
The second time, as he walked, he looked at me and said "hey Sarah, I heard you were sick, how are you?"
me:" im fine, thanks for asking, you're so sweet" (is it wrong to say to a guy "you're so sweet"???)
Why couldn't he stop and ask that question, why is he always walking?!
I'm trying to make him jealous in all ways possible, talked to a few guys here and there.
He's very mysterious, and it's hurting me because I don't understand him! I become dumb around him, so does he become dumb around me too? Is that why hes so calm sometimes?
I would really really appreciate your help, you seem to have some experience in this domain and that's why I asked for your help :)
Oh, by the way, I like interpreting dreams too, lol.

That's so cool that you like interpreting dreams too...I love to advise people who don't think I'm a total nutcase...I'm glad you asked me! I'll see what I can think of...hmm...
His thinking for a moment, then thanking her could definitely mean he's concerned. He probably does care about you if he's concerned, but I don't pretend to be able to read guys like a book, so don't hold me to that...
That's interesting that he said "What's up" while with his friend, possibly in the middle of a conversation? If not, still, it's interesting.
It shows that he cares because he REMEMBERED you were sick, and asked how you were.
No, it's definitely not wrong to say "you're so sweet" to a guy. I say that to all my guy friends...but then, I'm a touchy-feely kinda girl.
So he did look you in the eye the second time? As for the not stopping and walking on, he may have been in a hurry, but wanted to take the time to talk to you and let you know that he heard about your illness. He may also just not have realized that he should stop. I mean, sometimes I'll say stuff to a person and I'll keep walking away when they're trying to talk to me 'cause I don't realize they're still trying to talk...
Don't be dumb if you can help it, and I wouldn't try to make him jealous. Honestly, unless he's your ex boyfriend, I'm not sure that will get you anywhere. He might think you're not interested and move on. Oftentimes, guys don't go after girls if they look like they're interested in someone else.
As far as him being calm sometimes...I really couldn't tell you. Guys do work in mysterious ways. He might be just as confused as you are, you know, but not showing it, or showing it differently.
I hope this helps - if you want clarification or something new happens and (providing you like my advice) you want someone to help you figure it out, feel free to talk to me here, on on AIM (SirenCytherea). I'm on almost every night.

Q: I'm 14 years old, female and in the 9th grade. I've been sick for 4 1/2 months now, out of school and everything with an illness called colitis which is a disease in your large intestine and causes constant trips to the bathroom...it's embarassing yeah, but it's not like i picked to have this. Anyways, i would have thought being sick would bring me and my friends closer together but really, it ripped us apart. My best friend, or at least thought she was my best friend, completely ditched me 24/7 and said some really mean things to me and she lives right down the street from me and not once outa the 4 months did she come to my house to just visit with me and whenever she needs me, i'm ALWAYS there for her and like i wanna end the friendship cuz she is just a complete b**** like you wouldn't believe but the thing is, its hard to end the friendship as much as i wanna cuz i have so much fun with her. I need advice on what to do!! It's been driving me crazy for months on what to do and i just don't know anymore...:/

Aww, honey, I feel your pain...literally, lol. They can't figure out whether I have crohn's disease or colitis. I can totally sympathize. It sucks. You'll get better though, just hang in there. What med(s) did they put you on? They decided I needed to be on Asocol...>.< Anyway, to the real problem...
If your friend's not there for you and you need her to be, you've gotta talk to her. Call her one day and tell her what's going through your head right now, even about wanting to end the friendship. The answer to most problems is "talk to the person". Point out to her what a bitch she's been, and how you would really have liked her to come visit you, just to make you feel a little better emotionally, like your friends are still there for you, even if she can't make you feel better physically.
But I really would talk to her about it. Don't just end the friendship - find out if you can fix the problem. If it's not fixable, then I would think about ending it.
I hope this helps!

Q: f/19
My bf and I have been dating for about a month now and he recently told me that he thinks hes in love with me. I'm kind of turned off by that because its so soon. He keeps asking me how I feel and I told him I'm not sure, I'm not in love with him, what should I do.

Wow, that sounds familiar. The exact same thing happened to me. My guy said he loved me and I was like "...whoa, too fast..."
I just told him "I'm sorry, I just don't feel as strongly as you do - at least not yet."
Just be honest. If you aren't in love and you're not sure you will be, don't tell him it'll come along just to make him feel better.
So be honest, but be nice about it. Tell him it freaks you out that it's so soon. Telling him you're not sure was good.
But whatever you do, don't say "I love you" until you're really ready, and really in love.
Just go with your gut instincts. I hope this helps!

Q: ok me and my boyfriend have almost been together for 2 years. We're both 17, i'm a junior and he's a senior. we love each other more than you could ever imagine, we rarely fight and when we do its over stupid little stuff that we run back to each other after 5 mins. he's going away to college next year. he's probably going somewhere somewhat close. this one school is like 4 hrs away though. anyways, whenever he brings the subject up, i cant help but cry. i dont know how i'm going to handle next year. we talked about this the other day and he said "i promise we will always be together, trust me when i say that" i'm just afraid of next yr and he doesnt understand why. he's graduating, im not. he'll be invited to parties, meeting new girls.. im just afraid. anyone have any advice for me? thanks ♥

Ohhhhh sweetie! I sympathize totally.
My guy and I are both seniors, but he was planning to go to a college in Vegas and I'm staying where I am, so we'd like never see each other. Plans changed slightly, but we're still going to different colleges.
You've just gotta trust in your relationship, and trust HIM. Has he ever been untrue? No? Then you have no reason to worry. If he's loyal, I don't see any reason for you to be afraid. Of course, that doesn't mean you won't be afraid. If you want him to understand, sit him down and tell him what you just told us - he'll be invited to parties, meeting new girls, and you're just afraid... - etc.
Just tell him everything on your mind, and explain to him that at the moment a promise isn't enough. But you can't be untrusting when you two split directions or the relationship will dwindle. Trust is everything.
If he loves you, and I'm sure he does, he'll remain faithful to you while he's in college. Your problem is you need him to tell you - and show you that, and he can't necessarily. Only time can prove it to you.
If you need/want someone to talk to about this, you can IM me at SirenCytherea anytime.
I really hope this helps!

Well, there is a clear nailpolish that's supposed to harden your nails, but I've never tried that. I like to keep my nails long, and mine don't bend. I take two calcium pills every day because I don't like milk. Calcium really does strengthen your bones - and your nails are bones. It therefore strengthens your nails. So I'd said calcium is your best bet - but the nailpolish probably works as well.
I hope this helps!

Halls Vapor Action strawberry (or cherry) cough drops are life savers.
I figured out the hard way that it is possible to get addicted to those...lol, so don't eat just those.
Those are good for a short, temporary fix, but drink a LOT of water. Like, carry around a liter of it and just drink and drink...
Mint tea works very well also, and so does tea with honey to soothe a sore throat.
But I really do reccomend mostly water, and tea in the morning. Whatever you do, don't push your voice this weekend!
I'm a singer, so I know exactly what you're going through, lol. The natural flavored Ricolas are good for keeping your throat clear right before you have to sing, drink water with them in your mouth to get some more of the mint into your throat (my own trick) just don't choke on it...lol.
So just guzzle water until your throat feels better, and if your throat hurts the day of the competition, you can do a little bit of dairy like half a glass of milk or something to just coat it a little and help soothe it, if you have an hour or two before you have to compete.
Trust me, I know you're not supposed to do dairy before you sing, but if your throat hurts, coat it with something that'll stop it from feeling so raw - but make sure you drink a lot of water after it!
I hope this helps, and good luck at your competition!

Q: Okay I dont know what exactly to say about this but I'll try. I have this problem. Everyone makes fun of me becasue I sitll think about it all the time but its something hat has really gotten into my mind. Well... I am a music freak, and I love to sing, and everyone tells me that I can sing.. and everything.. but then the person whose opinion matters the most to me just recently told me that I cant sing and in all seriousness. I want him to think that I can sing.. that I can do just as well as any of his other "favorite people" that CAN sing! It tears me up that he thinks that I cant sing... All of my friends tell me that this person is just joking and that I'm good and all.. But I still dont believe them ever since this person told me that I cant sing... I feel so horrible over it.. like I dont even want to isng anymore.. what should I do? Much help needed... And please only serious answeres for this one.

Hey, that happened to me. My boyfriend once told me that my voice was "okay", where everyone else was telling me I was amazing, and his opinion was really the only one that mattered to me.
It's hard, but you have to only listen to your OWN opinion. Had I listened to him, I wouldn't have gotten any further, and I've already gotten a $900 scholarship and I made it to the national level of a competition with a $2000 cash prize.
It's all about confidence, sweetie.
Don't let ANYONE tell you you're not as good as you think you are. Talk to him one day and tell him how much it bothers you that he thinks you can't sing - not to mention that he seems to be the only one that thinks you can't.
But whatever you do, don't stop singing. If it's what you love, go for it! Don't let anyone stop you, especially not some moron who obviously doesn't know music, if he thinks you can't sing, and you can. You've just gotta know how good you are and keep working on it.
If you want to see if your friends are right that he's just joking, the best way to find out is to just ask him. It might be awkward, but you want to find out, right? You've just gotta go up to him one day and say to him "hey, I was just wondering, were you serious when you said I can't sing? 'Cause it really bothered me."
Just be upfront and tell him what you're thinking. But keep your confidence up and don't stop doing something just because one person told you you were bad at it. If you think you can sing, you can sing. Self image means a lot, and so does self confidence, especially in the long run. Keep it up!
I hope this helps!

Q: ok well i have a boy singing partner, and we spend alot of time together, and well my boyfriend thinks i like him. and hes all mad at me because, well, i had to kiss my partner for this song, and my boyfriend didnt know that it was part of the song and he got really mad.

Oh sweetie. I have to kiss my costar in the musical like three times for three nights - I feel your pain. Just sit your boyfriend down at some point and explain to him that you only have eyes for HIM. This guy that you had to kiss means absolutely nothing to you. Make sure you emphasize that you HAD to kiss this guy. It was part of the act, and you couldn't just cut that out of the song. It would lose its purpose completely...
Just like you can't cut the kiss out of a love scene...I mean, what are two characters in love and alone (and in my case, on a footbridge) going to do? Kiss, duh. Just explain the situation to him in a calm way and you should be fine.
I hope this helps!

Q: My boyfriend and I have been dating for a while and we really want to have sex like early this month but I always get my period in this beginning of the month and we both don’t want to wait. Can you have sex on your period..have any of you ever done that before. Is it safe?I rate 5’s.

Okay, first of all, it is not nearly as bloody and gory as everyone seems to be making it out to be. I have done it before, though I found it less pleasureable than it usually is.
All I reccomend is make sure your boyfriend knows you're on your period so he won't freak out if/when he sees blood.
You can have sex on your period, but make sure you know that you can STILL GET PREGNANT ON YOUR PERIOD, so make sure you still use birth control of some sort, and I do recommend a condom, depending on your flow. If it's light, you may not even see any blood, but y'never know, so I say condoms all the way.
Sex on your period is just as safe as it is at any other time. Take the same precautions and all that. Have fun, lol.
I hope this helped a bit!

I'm a laid-back 26 year old with a Psychology BA, starting my MA program, and working my way into the field as quickly as I can. It took me an extra Bachelor's degree (in vocal performance and creative writing) to figure it out, but I was put on this Earth to help, to heal, and to love.
I have made the decision to dedicate my life and career to helping others. I am here to do just that.
I've been a member since 2004, and since I signed up, I've gone through quite a lot and learned quite a lot from it. I'm here to give guidance where I had none; no one should have to go through the difficulties I went through alone.
Feel free to visit my website/blog, if you want to read my experience with domestic violence and my thoughts on it.

If you need to get a hold of me quickly, my screen name on AIM is SirenCytherea. Just let me know you found me here.
I'm a strong believer in the idea that there are no stupid questions except the ones left unasked, so, please, keep an open mind, heart, and mouth.
