can u have sex on your period

Question Posted Monday February 28 2005, 12:28 pm

My boyfriend and I have been dating for a while and we really want to have sex like early this month but I always get my period in this beginning of the month and we both don’t want to wait. Can you have sex on your period..have any of you ever done that before. Is it safe?I rate 5’s.

You know, I was considering having sex with my boyfriend during my period, but I didn't know anything about it. So I started searching on internet and found this very good site [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) full of useful tips from "how to avoid making a mess" to "can you get pregnant on your period". You should really check it out. It helped me, a lot!

it's never safe. chances are you probably wont get pregnant or anything...but then again...theres a chance you might. what ive heard though is before your period doesnt work...the safest times (if there are such a thing) are the 2 or 3 days after your period. but honestly...the only safe sex is no sex.

Okay, first of all, it is not nearly as bloody and gory as everyone seems to be making it out to be. I have done it before, though I found it less pleasureable than it usually is.
All I reccomend is make sure your boyfriend knows you're on your period so he won't freak out if/when he sees blood.
You can have sex on your period, but make sure you know that you can STILL GET PREGNANT ON YOUR PERIOD, so make sure you still use birth control of some sort, and I do recommend a condom, depending on your flow. If it's light, you may not even see any blood, but y'never know, so I say condoms all the way.
Sex on your period is just as safe as it is at any other time. Take the same precautions and all that. Have fun, lol.
I hope this helped a bit!

Of course, you can have sex any time of the month you want.Even during your period. However, think logically,it'll be messy. Safe?As opposed to what? You can still get pregnant. And all the other negative things that can occur with sex.

Yes!!! It's definitely ok to have sex on your period. It might be messy...well I have never tried it. On the brightside there is no chance in hell you are getting pregnant. But you should still tell your man to wear a condom. Just because you have your period doesn't mean you can't get an STD of STI. Have fun...;>

Ok, people are morons, I just want to clear up a few things that some of the people answered this question with.

1: Very Important- you CAN get pregnant if you have sex on your period. You should use both a condom and birth control

2: Birth control pills do NOT make it so that you don't have your period at all.

3: Having sex on your period is not as messy as everyone makes it seem. But you should tell your boyfriend that your on it before you try anything. You do not want him to freak out when he see's blood.

I also want to mention that when a female is on her period... how can I put this... well, it's sort of like she is "in heat" so to say.

I have talked to many other women about the topic of sex on your period, and they've all agreed with me. If you and your boyfriend are comfortable enough with each other, then he would love the idea of pleasing you while your on your period.

Yes, it's alright to have sex while your on your period, even though it's a little messy and gross. If you have sex while on your period there's no chance of getting pregnant. So I guess it has it's pros and cons.

I've heard of people who have gotten pregnant during their period. I suggest birth control pills, because they actually stop your period. Thus, you will have nothing to worry about.
