ohkay well im going to highschool next year.
and im pretty sure im going to be in the spanish class. where are some good websites to learn spanish words and stuff like that. i want to get a head start in it.

you could get a book from someone in a spanish class this year so you know what kind of vocab is good to know. the first year you learn colors and days of the week, the weather, etc so finding out what vocab you need would be a start. another thing you could do is look in a spanish/english dictionary which you will be needing next year anyway...find words you use a lot like computer, waterbottle, shirt, bag, pencil and that should help you for when you need to start writing sentences. if you need anything else, lemme know.

13/f I wanna completely redo my room. Theres a problem though, how do I approach my parents about it since my dad doesn't like spending a lot of money and my parents usually say no before even thinking about it. Its just that... I'm a teenager now, and my room is nice and all..but its just /boring/. I want to make it beach themed, and I want wooden floors and orange walls, orange comforters on my bed with the right shade of blue pillows and orange pillows on my bed and stuff. I know how I want my room exactly, but I dont know how to convince my parents since I know the money will add up no matter what, and we just got a pool heater so that took alot of money.

Aside from that if my parents say yes I'm having trouble finding just solid orange comforter! I found one on walmart that was almost perfect! But it was furry sort of, which I didn't want. I just want a solid comforter, can anyone give links to places that HAVE them? Please dont send me to sites like ikea, and say to check them because I checked those and they dont have them. Please just look and see if they have one and give me the link to the page if you can.

if you want to get it by your parents, compromise some things. instead of getting everything at once, get it as you find it or redo your room as a birthday present. knowing my parents, the wood floors wouldn't happen but everything else is do-able. about the orange walls... and orange everthing... that might be a bit much. if they won't let you paint it orange, get a lamp and put in an orange light bulb. you'll probably grow out of the all orange thing eventually anyway. i don't know where to find everyting you want but that's just how i would approach the parents about it.

Okay...so...i wear a bra. But, the only thing is its not the type of bra wiere you close it at the back....it doesnt have the hook. It's a bra...that you just put on..no hook or anything. It's by the company, Freestyle. So...is it okay to wear those kind of bras? Or, do you have to wear the "hook-bras"? Please help!

that's fine...it's a sports bra right? there's nothing wrong with those besides that they are annoying/uncomfortable to people with a big cheast but other than that, it's prefectly fine.

oh haha ok so they're purses that are fake... like you know how louis vuitton and coach and prada are pricey? well knock offs are fake ones. some look a lottt like the actual ones but theyre not (otherwise they wouldn't be so cheap!) it helps to know what the real ones look like so you get a good fake. the street vendors usually try to sell them for like $60 but you can get them down to about $20 if you talk to them.

Next week I'll be going on a New York trip with my band through school. I'm really excited!

I just have a few questions for anyone who lives there or perhaps has traveled there before:

1) Is it a bad idea to carry around a purse? Should I just keep my wallet in my pocket so no one can grab it and run off with it?

2) Do some people actually try to steal necklaces off your neck from right behind you?

3) Are there a lot of homeless people?

4) Has anyone tried any of the following restaurants: Chevy's Fresh Mex, ESPN Zone, B.B. Kings Blues Club and Grill, or Tavern on the Green? Are they any good?

5) What are some cool places to shop in Times Square?

6) When I take the ferry over to the Statue of Liberty, will it be freezing cold because of the water?

well i don't know the answer to everything and mikecft knows the city better than i do but i'll give you info from my experience...
it's not bad to carry a purse around... i've never had one stolen or anything. buttt you might want to buy one of the knockoffs on the streetcorners so i guess you can start off with a wallet in your pocket.
ive never seen anything stolen off of someone's neck... it's not as ghetto as you think haha
ive only seen like a few homeless people there but i guess i haven't ben there enough times... it's not like a hobo every step you take. there's a lot of rich people there...
cool places to shop... tiffany's on 5 ave is cool.. the square is always too packed for me persoanlly.
as for temp... bring a light jacket cuz it's kinda windy.

this story is so ridiculous that i don't think telling the parents would do any good because they probably wouldn't believe that someone they hired to watch their kid gave the kid drugs.

im cool with it, except for the fact that i have bad tan lines from my bikini.
i LOVE to lay out by the pool and therefore have tan lines. going to a tanning bed is out of the question.

if you really hate them, get the sally hansen instant tan stuff (the spray). it works well on me personally.. its worth a try. i spray it on and spread it with a makeup sponge.

it depends what you're doing... if its dinner and a movie, wear a little sundress with a jean jacket over with matching flip flops and accesories. it you're doing something active, go with cute jeans and a nice top (like a vneck from a&f) and flats.

I`m only 13 and my parents treat me like I`m 18 and they won't buy me ANYTHING! They make me pay for my clothes, my food when I go out to eat, staying at hotels for a family vacation, and basically everything. They won't even buy me a pack of gum! I'm only 13 and I can't really have a well-paying job and I already walk dogs but that can't pay for everything.. I can't even shop anymore because I don't have enough money for more then 2 shirts and as soon as I buy 2 shirts I have to save up for another 3 months until I have any money again.

It really annoys me because my friends always brag about how their mom took them to the mall and bought them 9 bags of clothes and they didn't have to pay. My parents haven't bought me any clothes since I was 11. My mom never takes me to the mall because she says "I don't like to drive and it's too far away." Yeah, the mall is literally 10 minutes away. I still have all winter clothes to survive in this summer because I have NO money to buy anything and my birthday has already passed.

Don't you think it's harsh to make a 13 year old pay for EVERYTHING including like gum and stuff?! The most I can do is walk dogs and it's not like they are punishing me for being a bad kid because I get straight A's and I'm never in trouble so it's not a punishment.. I think they are so harsh because clothes are a necessity and all of my friends sit on their butts and get everything handed to them and I`m trying to pay for everything and it's not going to work out.. I've already tried telling them that it's impossible to pay for my own wardrobe and food and stuff when my only way of getting money is walking dogs because my parents don't pay me for helping out around the house and stuff.. so how can I get them to lighten up and at least pay for SOME of my clothes and other stuff? because it would be helpful if they pitched in a little bit.

P.S if you think I should start babysitting to make money how do I bring this up with my parents?? and I ONLY want to babysit for my neighbors so should I tell them straight out I want to babysit or should my mom tell them?

My parents were like that when i was 13... i learned a lot really fast. when you shop, go straight for the sales. go to thrift stores, trade clothes, reuse stuff you had a while back.. go cheap on everything. flip flops are 2 for $5 at old navy, shirts are $6.95 on the sale rack at american eagle, there are $7 purses at H&M, theres $1 jewelry at hot topic (they have a big sale going on right now) and sales at hollister have shirts for $13. try ross, tjmax and other places like that. if they make you pay for school lunches, pack everyday. hotels for family vacations... that's extreme.. stay in their room on a couch or stay at a friend's house while they're out. family dinners... get something from the kids menu (i'm serious... it's like $5 and they can't say oh you're not 12 and under..). it's less food but you can eat when you get home. i know it sucks a lot but it teaches you a lot. i'm so good with money now... my younger bro never had to pay for anything and he has noo idea how to manage his money. if you need anything else, lemme know.

Well i was definatly 14 once...
so i do understand why you would want to but look at it this way... once you do it once.. you won't be known as good kids anymore. that means you'll lose trust and friendship from other people that didn't participate in the "rebellious" activity. a lot of people drink, but the fact is that it's bad for you. i'm not saying that anyone that gets drunk is gonna die or get raped but sometimes it's just not worth the hangover or the puking.
pot won't do as much damage but it'll give you a bad reputation, trust me. don't make a habit out of any of those. if you need anything, ask.
