(not sure if this is in the right category, if not SORRY!) anyway my big problem is i had my FIRST ever period on July 5th, and i havn't had it since! i'm really really worried. and i've never had sex so it wouldn't be that i'm pregnant. (i'm 14)

also, i'm pretty sure it was a period and not my hymen broke. because it lasted for 4 days.

please help me, i've been worried since august 20th! thanks.


settle down there is nothing wrong with you.
it is completely normal to not have a consistant period for about the first year you have it.
so therefore you have nothing to worry about.

and yes it was your peroid and not you hymen. since you are a virgin more than likely you hymen hasn't "broke" yet.

don't stress over this. you should have your period some time soon. i've heard of girls that have gone 3 months without their periods and were completely fine so don't worry!just be prepared for it and everything will be perfectly fine!

Hi, I'm going into 10th grade 16/m- and school hasn't even started yet...
Well.. the harrassment has been going on since 4th grade...
Basically all the popular people and the majority of my class think that I'm a fag (like gay).. but I'm not.. I have a girlfriend of 6 months.. and we're really happy together...
I don't even act gay at all.. everyone just thinks I am.. and I think it's because most of my friends are girls.. but I don't understand why that would make me gay- because wouldn't that mean that I like hanging out with girls because they are nice to me??
I just feel like no one cares about me and everyone is making fun of me
Another thing.. I am one of the smartest people in the class (4.0 average).. and I always do good on tests.. do people make fun of me because they are jealous that I get good grades and they don't.. I mean I don't go around bragging about my grades.. people ask me what I got.. and I just tell them in a modest way...

I don't understand why everyone thinks I'm a homo.. when I'm not...

oh.. and on myspace- I put up a picture that was the one everyone does (upside down peace sign with big sunglasses).. so then one of the people who makes fun of me posts a comment about it saying "wow ur a homo" so i posted a comment back saying "i was making fun of myspace.. lol".. so then he posts regular comments saying stuff like "i wasn't kidding about the pic comment" and "everyone thinks you're a fag" and "we hate you"...

So that just made me think of how much my class despises me- and I don't even say anything mean to them.. I try being nice.. but they just aren't.. the only ones who actually care about me are my close friends.. and that's only like 10 people max. outta the 250-300 in my class...

Am I just worried about nothing?
Am I really that much of a loser?
Please don't say "go talk to a counselor" because I tried that in middle school and the counselor was really stupid about it

first of all you're not gay and you know that obviously.the word homo or gay is used to describe many tihngs in our society. and alot of the time the meaning of the word doesnt even fit the situation it is used in so don't take it so personally. teenagers are afraid of things they arent used to. so to cover those insecurities they make fun of them. you're different than the other guys in your grade and thats not a bad thing. some guys may be jealous that most of your friends are girls and that theirs arent. also the fact that you are smarter than most of them. just keep a posotive out look and dont let the things they say get to you. i mean they can't make fun of you forever. have you tried laughing with them like making it a joke? that might work. if you dont respond the way they want you to when they make fun of you its not entertaining for them so they'll eventually stop. just remember that what doesnt kill you only makes you stronger!!!

ok i need help i cant decide between 2 parties, both are this saturday & i know its my decision & all but i just need input

ok so Party A:: the girls whos throwin it i mean we both know each other but weve never talked to each other but shes 2 of my other friend's friend too. i kno a buncha people that are going to this, its gonna be like one of those big blow out my-super-sweet-16 kinda deals. i got invited to this one first. the down side is i need a semi-formal dress haha

Party B:: one of my friends from last semester is havin it. its a pool party and i only kno like 3 people that are goin. i wasnt invited to this one till i had pretty much already decided i was goin to the 1st one [although i hadnt RSVP'd or told anyone i was goin]. but the thing is this girl is actually one of my friends from last yr although i havent seen her at all this yr. i dont wanna upset them by goin to the 1st party esp. since a lotta ppl dont like the girl whos havin the 1st party [personally i dont have anything against her i dont see why a lotta ppl are like 'dont go to hers' and stuff]

so basically id kinda rather go to the 1st party but the thing is i dont wanna let my friends down, + id have to go buy a dress anyway.

what should i do?


If i were you i would go to the first party.
finding a dress shouldnt be that hard.

just explain to your friend that you were invited to the other party first.

okay in either june or july, i twisted my ankle. basically it was the stupidest injury ever. i was playing basketball & i stepped on a girls foot while running & fell. it hurt really bad. i stopped playing for that game & the game after. i took a few days off & started up again like 4 days after it happened. i've been using an ace bandage to play. we had the month of august off, so i haven't played since july. my ankle hurts a lot still. its sore, i can't turn it a certain way, when i stand on it for too long it hurts, it feels like its in a knot, etc. i never got it checked out, because i know i twisted it & it can't be broken if i can walk/run on it. what is it?? its still swollen, but its regular color.

you should probably get it checked!
it sounds like you might have fluid around the bone which is causing it to swell and walking on it ins't helping too much either.
also its possible that you bruised the bone.
either way it sounds like it needs to be checked out.

Alright, I have this friend Jeff, and he's like one of my bestest friend but he's just always so sad. And for like, usually no reason. I'll just be talking to him, and he'll just be like "mhm" "k" "yeah". And then if I don't talk for like, a second he's like "you're not very talkative" so I start talking again, and he does the same thing. And tonight, me and my friend Alyssa and him all went into a chat cause we all talk to eachother, and he doesn't say anything the whole time and I'm like "you can talk, you know." and he's like "you guys are ignoring me." and im like,"you said like, one thing and that was no." I don't know, it's just like he thinks he's boring to talk to and we're ignoring him and everything. And I always tell him to talk about something, and he's like "I don't wanna talk, I don't wanna type." It's like everyone else always have to come up with conversation, not him and I'm running out of ideas. And tonight he's like,"Me and her [me] never talk about anything, but we have stuff in common." and im just thinking,"WTF I TALK TO YOU EVERY SINGLE DAY AND I BABBLE ABOUT WHAT IM DOING OR WHATEVER COMES UP OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD." And I'm just getting aggrivated, what should I do? His depression is making me depressed.. and ticked off. HELP?!


Have you tried talking about the things you know interest him? that might work a little.
also you could try calling him if he says he doesnt wat to type so then he wouldnt have to.
have you considered asking him whats on his mind? maybe something is really bothering him and he needs someine to talk to about it.
let him know that in order for the two of you to have a conversation he has to talk too not just you!

I had this one REALLY close guy friend, Jason, who I had been friends with for three years. Recently we told eachother that we have stronger feelings than 'just friends.'

Since then nothing had happened between us and I was okay with that but I REALLY wanted to kiss him. So last night we were at a party and when he arrived I kissed him. It was shortlived since it was just a 'hello' kiss, but it was our first (and last?).

Five minutes before this I told one of my best friends, Ann, that I liked Jason a lot. Ann has a boyfriend.

Just after I kissed Jason, so did Ann. We had been drinking (Jason hadn't) so I thought it was kind of funny and she only kissed him on the cheek.

About thirty minutes later Ann, who was NOT drunk, said 'Jason, I want to kiss you' so she kissed him on the cheek again. As she was pulling away Jason started to make out with her and they frenched for about 30 seconds. I was shocked but blew it off. I was SO turned off by what Jason had done and he looked at me right after he did it. I don't know what was going through his head.

I quickly left the room and tried to forget about what I just saw. I was shocked that Jason would do that.. and shocked that Ann would too since she knew I liked him.

Once it came time to go back to my house (Ann was sleeping over), Ann and I were saying bye to everyone. Then Ann went up to Jason and they french kissed and it was obvious that he likes her now. I couldn't even look at him, nevermind say bye, I was disgusted.

Should I ever talk to Jason or Ann again? Right now I am telling myself not to be upset (since that never helps anything) but I need to make a decision. I don't know if I should even continue to be friends with Jason. Plus, Ann cheated on her boyfriend by doing that but Jason doesn't know she has a boyfriend.

If I stop being friends with Jason I will probably lose 20 friends since he is always hanging out with them and I won't want to be there if he is. And he is usually the one to invite me to be with them. I have a lot of other friends since I'm one of the 'popular' girls but I really like being with them (I get straight A's but that gets boring so I like to party and drink with them.)

I am thinking of forgetting of what Jason did and if I run into him at another party I could be like Ann and make out with him and then he could like me again.

Sorry that this is SO long, advice is greatly appreciated so thank you so, so, SO much. :)


First of all dont be like your friend Ann and make out with him to get him to like you.
I would be more mad at Ann than Jason if it were me. You told her you liked him and she obviously knew that. Also she cheated on her boyfriend. Explain to Ann that you are upset by the fact that she made out with jason considering the fact that she know you liked him. The fact that you were drinking really doesnt matter thought because you said neither of you were drunk so ann obviously knew what she was doing when she kissed him. Just let her know it upset you and that you would like an appology.
As for Jason... Pretty much all guys are pigs and will kiss any girl that kisses them. which is probably the case with him.let jason know that ann does have a boyfriend at that she doesnt like ihm in that way. but do it in a way so that you dont sound jealous. Then just see where the relationship goes from there.

its almost been a week ive been sad. and he still ignores me. i found out another reason... he thinks i like another guy, and he thinks i flirt wit' him... and its pretty much natural rightt? you flirt when you dont' know that you are... but he should've told me to change, or told me, or asked me if it was true. let me start off by saying i know exactly how you feel.
maybe you can try calling him and talking to him so then he'd sorta have to listen.
or write him a note and explain everything and hand deliver it to him.
let him know that you still like him and that you're sorry you flirted with another guy.
make sure he knows you're willing to change.
and that you want the two of you to have a second chance at the relationship.
more than likely though he over reacted about the whole thing and now realizes that.

More than likely he won't know that you've never kissed a boy before. Like alot of the people below said kissing is just something that comes naturally. after about the second time you'll catch on trust me. but when it does happen just go with the flow. maybe the fort time you could "follow his lead". more than likely though he'll make the first move. (its a guy thing)!

I'm going into 8th grade this year, which means I'm going to be applying to a few different high schools. The application process includes an interview, and I've never done an interview for anything before. I'm not super nervous because I'm usually fine with talking to people, but does any one have any tips?


over all just be yourself.

you dont want to seem nervous so try to be as relaxed as possible.
when they ask you a question make sure you fully answer it in detail.
also do some research before the interview so you know a little bit about the school. such as clubs, sports teams, classes, ect that you might be interested in.
also ask them questions if you have any.
in alot of interviews they ask you what some of your flaws are so keep that in mind. and if they ask you that make your flaws something posotive.
remember to dress to impress.

Ok, so i'm not like tottaly fat or anything. but i am big. my weight is around 160( a little more, but bettween 160 and 170). i want to loose weight but everytime i try, it never works. i've tried to stop eating junk food, but it only works for about a day. and in P.E. we always run a mile and i want to have a good time and not be embarresed infront of others. what do i do?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????


you dont have to totally cut out all junk food. but instead control your portion sizes. if you havce a craving for something like icecream then have your icecream but you dont need a huge bowl of it. only eat until the craving is gone and then stop.
I've also heard that cutting back on dairy can help you lose weight. like things such as mmilk and cheese.
also cut back on fatty foods and things such a soda.
stop eating 5 hours before you go to bed also. this allows your food to have time to begin to digest. (if you eat and then go straight to bed those calories and carbs are turned directly into fat)

as for getting into shape...
i'd recomend running since you want to be able to run a mile.
start small and work your way up. and remember to keep a steady pace that you are comfertable with. also make sure you stay hydrated while you work out.

I just got braces three days ago [I had them before when I was in second grade] However, I'm in intense pain! I can't eat anything, even soft foods like soft taco's hurt like crazy, and pasta! I'm on Tylenol, I ice my mouth several times a day, I use the bite plate they gave me, and I put on Orajel. But it still hurts so bad, What should I do?


take advil or motrin.
be sure to use brace wax which the probably gave you.
if the pain continues for more thna a week call your orthodontist.
also when i had my braces on i found its best for the first week if you dont eat alot of bread.

Everyone says American Eagle is the best store, but personally I hate it. All of their t-shirts are basically the same things with different words and colors. A lot of their clothes are really bad quality. I bought a cami from there once and I only wore it once and a HUGE hole ripped and I wasn't even running around or anything. It may be a little cheaper then Abercrombie & Fitch or Hollister, but atleast if you buy something from A&F or Hollister, you know the clothes are going to last. American Eagle's clothes arn't the most attractive things, and they look cheap. What do you think about AE?


I totally agree with you!
I've bought some clothes from there and they were extremely cheap quality! Their jeans dont fit me all that well either however some of their shorts are cute.
i do like a&f alot better yes they are more expensive but they last alot longer.
as for hollister they're okay. but their clothes dont seem to last that long. the shirt i have on now is from there and has holes in it from where it has worn out and i havent had it that long. also their jeans always seem to rip in the crotch area for some reason.
if you have a wet seal they have really cute clothes. or try pac sun i buy alot of my clothes from there and absolutely love them!

My friend is mad at me. We are both thirteen. And we are both girls. She has been calling me names. I keep telling her that she's acting like a five-year-old. And every time I email her she keeps saying I'm acting dumb and weird... and up until now she's stopped talking to me. What should I do?


It is possible that you have done something to anger ot upset your friend. also the fact that you told her she's acting like a five year old probably did not help the situation much. Talking to her on the phone or in person may help the situation better. explain to her why you feel the way you do and let her explain her feelings to you. the two of you may need some time apart from eachother.

My boyfriend(we're 14)is going back to visit his hometown soon...he lived there till last year..he has 4 ex girlfriends that live there that he is still good friends with and im pretty sure hes planning on visiting them! im so worried that these girls(who by the way are very slutty and did alot of things with him) are gonna be all over him and he'll be tempted and he ll cheat on me! i trust him alot but hes so close with them that i bet anything could happen! what should i do?


You didnt mention that he has cheated on you so if i were you i wouldnt be worried. he obviously likes you since he is going out with you. everyone has a past and has past relationships. but remember that there is a reason why those past relationships failed. if he is smart he wont do anything with those girls. just because hes done stuff with them before doesnt mean that he will do soemthing agian because now the circumstances are different than they were before. you say you trust him alot and you obviously have a reason to trust him just remember that. its okay that he is still friends with them but thay are friends and nothing more. so there is nothing for you to worry about!
