Am I good enough? will i ever be thin & pretty? i'm so ugly , is starving actually helpful?
First of all, starving your self isn't helpful. Not only is it very bad for you, it doesn't work. In fact, it almost backfires.
When you don't eat food, your body slows down your metabolism because humans aren't designed to just stop eating. If you stop eating, your body thinks you don't have food available so it slows down your metabolism so that your body can still live off of whatever vitamins, proteins, etc. are still in your body to give you time to 'find food' (that goes back to caveman times I suppose). Not eating also shrinks your stomach. When ever you eat and get that 'full' feeling, it's your stomach being stretched to its max. Without food to continuously fill you up and restretch it out, it will shrink. So basically, when you decide to get help and start eating again, it will be painful and your metabolism will be very slow, so you'll just gain back any of the weight you lost.
Second, you are good enough. You might think people being brought up in our society think that you have to be thin and have a pretty face to be considered beautiful, but there are many, MANY people out there that can see past looks. It's what's on the inside that counts, and boys notice confidence.
If you lack confidence, then there's nothing wrong with exercise and dieting to help you feel better about yourself. Sometimes when I'm having an "I'm so ugly" day, I put on my cutest outfit, do my hair fancy, and I wear a little bit of makeup. If you feel pretty and confident, you will look pretty and confident.
Moral of the story; If you can't change something about yourself that you dislike, then learn to embrace it. It might be hard but you should learn to be happy with your god-given body because I guarentee you that there is someone out there that knows you and is completely jealous of you for one reason or another. Okay so my cousin has a boyfriend & i dont, he likes me & i didnt like him, i told my cousin everything that he said; because im a good friend, but then i started liking him too... what do i do!!?
You just need to let him go. It's good that you told your cousin about him flirting with you but if she doesn't break up with him, then you shouldn't interfere any further. He's still her boyfriend so it's not right for you to flirt back with him. If he continues to flirt with you, say something like 'I don't want to hurt my cousin, and you need to stop being unfaithful' or just ignore him. If they break up in the future, then you can go after him I guess, but for now, set your sights on other guys, preferably ones that are not in a relationship. Goodluck, Jess.
Every time i see my friends they say that my eyes are a different color according to what im wearing... like if im wearing black, they are a greyish blue. If im wearing blue they are a neon green color, and the light has nothing to do with it! Every time i cry they turn a very dark red (or brown) my eyes are naturally green and silver but i want to know why they change color? is it cuz of my mood, like mood rings or something? i need this answered as fast as possible! im starting to get creeped out....
Believe it or not, it isn't that uncommon. Your eyes will appear to be different colors depending on what you're wearing. Mine do it too. I have dark blue eyes and if I wear blue, they look really blue and if I wear grey, they look greyish green, etc. Your eyes already have many flecks of different colors to begin with so if you wear a color that compliments a certain color in your eye, it will appear more dominant, thus making it look like your eyes have changed color. The color of your eyes isn't scientifically connected with your mood, so don't worry about it. I remember asking this question to my 7th grade science teacher and she gave me this same answer. How do I stop this? I don't understand why they do it, I'm an honor roll student who has never gotten into trouble. My parents always look angry every time I come back home, asking me all sorts of questions and acting like I'm lying the entire time. They hardly let me go out as it is. What can I do to make them less protective?
I agree with the person below me, and I know that his method works out of experience. When I was a younger teenager, my parents always wanted to know where I was and who I was with all the time. Me, being in my 'angsty' teenage phase, resented them for being 'nosy'. As I got older, I realized that I actually liked my parents (haha) and I wanted to share with them the ups and downs of my dramatic teenage life. Of course, I didn't share the parts that would get me in trouble or compromise their responsibility of being a parent for their desire to be my friend. So yes, sharing things with them actually works if you want them to lay off. It shows that you don't mind letting them into your world, which allows for a stronger relationship between you and your parents. It just helps them trust you more and it helps cut down on any fights you have with them. Over time, you'll realize that the less you fight your parent's rules and ideals, the more they'll trust you and let you have freedom. Goodluck, Jess.
im a 15 yr old guy. get my braces off next week, feb 11th, after having my braces for 3 yrs. should i take pain meds before going to get them off? i have an 1hr and 30min appointment, and how do ur teeth look after? i have an art show only a couple hours after them off and not sure how ill do...
I had my braces on for 2 1/2 years and I don't remember feeling any pain when I got them taken off. If anything, I just remember feeling relief that I finally got them taken off haha. They will look fine if you've been taking care of them, but they will feel VERY weird...they basically feel very slimy and it will feel like you have a lot of room in your mouth. i'm 18 and my boyfriend will be 18 in a couple weeks. we have been going out for 3 years almost and were never allowed to sleep over, ( my mom doesnt like the idea) now i get that in her house its her rules and thats how she wins the arguments always. however, i am now 18 and i feel that i can sleep at his house. his parents find it okay becuase we have been going out for so long. his mom wanted to throw him a party for his birthday and thought it was going to get late and instead of me leaving stay at his house and sleep in the spare room just to make my mom at ease. she said she would even talk to her if she had concerns. i just want to be able to tell my mom what is going on and her not to say no. I mean i try to go about this as if you want me to lie to you fine, but i can tell you the truth and youll know what is really going on. i have talked to her about sleeping over before and she says when i have my own place i can do what i want when i want how i want. and i get that thats totally reasonable, but i dont want to move out at 18. to me if we have been going out this long and im not pregnant then its not going to happen. another reason i want to stay at his house more is its just convienent. and hes leaving at the end of the summer across the country so my chances of seeing him ever again are slim. i mean we may not work out we may stay in touch ill visit him, but i want to make the most of what we have now and not have to be treated as a 12 year old girl. i'm a over all good person i listen to my mom i rarley give her a hard time i tell her the truth i tell her where i am and what time she wants me home ill be there i keep up my grades to an 80 or above i have two jobs where i dont ever take time off from i have a car that i pay for. i mean i show all the responsibilites of a grown person and yet i feel like i cant do anything. how do i go about this? opinions please!
You aren't being treated like a 12 year old...you're being treated like any normal teenager that lives with their parents. She's just looking out for you. You can't just say "If I haven't gotten pregnant in the 3 years that we've been together then it won't happen." If you are sexually active then you are ALWAYS running the risk of getting pregnant. Every single time you have sex there is a risk. Your mom sees that and is just being a good mom because 18 is still too young to get pregnant and have a baby. I need to vent, I am SO tired of hearing from every single person that i meet that I'm sooo shy and quiet-yes i think i know myself by now thanks. Seriously why is it such a huge deal that everyone has to comment on it? Yes, im quiet and shy, but it's usually only around people that i dont know. When I'm around friends and family im pretty outgoing and I talk...but when i meet new people, I just cant help it, im a quiet person. I just want to snap when someone says it, its like yes i know im quiet lol, not everyone is extremely bubbly and loud! Is being shy and quiet really that big of a deal to people? Some people say "well maybe you should be more outgoing", but thats not how i am naturally, im quiet!
Haha I understand, I'm the same way. You can't really stop people from noticing it, it's just how you are. I never really thought it was a huge deal that I was shy and quiet...I figured if someone was really interested in meeting me then they'd make an effort to talk to me. how to get water out of your cell phone
Take out the battery and put the phone in a bowl of dry rice for a couple of days. If that doesn't work, then you didn't get the phone out of water in time to save it. For future reference, if you ever drop your phone in water the first thing you need to do is take out the battery. The last sentence, yes. Just chillout. You seem to be living your relationship in the future, thinking he might break up with you, he might cheat on you, he might hurt you. He's got a lot on his plate right now and I'm sure he doesn't need you worrying so much about the stability of your relationship. You need to be confident in your feelings towards each other because doubt is one of the things that can tear a relationship apart. Ok so hey everyone well to start off I am 13 female and my friend is 12 female and the other day she started liking this 14 year old in the grade ahead of us, well she wanted me to help her, so I was like yeah this'll be fun because I don't even know him he don't know me. Ok so she wanted me to text him first so I did and he ignored me didn't text back (guessing because he didn't know me) (plus don't know what I look like) now anyway she finaly text him and they t4ext forever and they flirted and had good conversations, I read all of it off her phone! and then yesterday morning I was sitting at the 7th grade table and I was the only one there noone else had came in yet, and he was the only one at the 8th grade table across from me and well every two seconds he would look over and stare at were I was sitting, then this morning me and my friend that likes him got there first and he was there then 8th grade left first so I decided to look and find him and when I did he was looking right at me and our eyes met then he jumped startled and walked off. It is really wierd because he don't even know me and that stuff happens, then he acts like yeah he likes my friend and stuff, and from all this helping my friend I am starting to like him myself!!!! so please help I am confused about a couple things like I said!

Well you seem to already know what you want, so that's good. You want your boyfriend, so here's my advice: do what you can to stay with him. Make sure you have an open and honest relationship BUT I will say one thing...if you tell him about flirting with this other guy and then say that it 'didn't mean anything', do NOT expect him to just be ok with that. If I were you, I wouldn't tell him. It might relieve your guilt, but it will hurt him a lot and it could make him not trust you, which will put a strain on your relationship. Why would you tell her off? He's the one that dumped you...it seems more logical to be mad at him. Anyways, don't tell her off. It will make your exboyfriend see you as melodramatic and immature. I have been asking my mom for snakebites for about 3 years (I'm 13) everytime I ask her when I can get tem she says "once you move out" I don't know what age I'm moving out though...I have been on the computer researching everything there is to know about them, I even know all the types there are, I even have a job planned out if I get them ill work at HotTopic..... she thinks that they are horrible,I think they are awsome, what should i do to tell her how bad I want them I mean I REALLY want them. Ok so you're 13...you know what I wanted when I was 13? I wanted to dye my hair black and pierce my nose. Of course, my mom would never allow it, no matter how much I persisted. I begged and begged for months and she still said no. And you know what? I am SO thankful that she didn't let me do that to myself. It would have looked terrible and trashy, and looking back on it, I understand COMPLETELY why she said no. Trust me on this, things change drastically between the time when you're 13 and 18 and you are always going to be wanting to do something new and exciting. You probably feel like you want them more then anything in the world right now, but I am willing to bet anything that in a year, you will have changed your mind. And if you haven't, then why not wait until you move out? If you can wait long enough to move out and you still want them just as bad, the go ahead...but for now, I recommend you listen to your mom and respect her as your parent. She's not trying to be mean, she's just trying to look out for you. And besides, there really isn't any changing parent's minds when it comes to things like this (tattoos, piercings, hair dye, etc.) Just let it go and if you haven't changed your mind by the time you're 18, then go for it. The answer is in the question. If you only do this whenever you drink, then stop drinking. To answer your question, you do this stuff when you drink because alcohol impairs your judgement. Well, it isn't the same for every girl. I didn't bleed at all. It just depends on how you are built and whether or not your hymen is torn, because that's what causes the bleeding.
