Okay so we have this project in my 8th grade literacy class about teen social issues. so like everyone took my topics since my teacher called our names alphabetically and we can only have 1 topic per each class so no repeats.. and my name was at the end of the alphabet. next time i'll say to start from the end.. anyways so ideas i had before were to do: abortion, vegetarianism, perfectionism, and yeah etc. dont say like animal rights or something either. im not interested in that. and the problems have to have some kind of resolution since its a research project. and a bounty of info. so give me a lot of ideas of things you know are teen issues i can look up and write a paper on n stuff. thanks a bunch!!! :) (link)

Yes. Confidence. Everyone has it. You just need to learn how to bring it out. Take me for example. If I liked a new guy, personally, i'd think of it this way...I only have one life, and i'm ganna start taking chances. Also, I'd be like, ( Hi my name is so-and-so whats your name? Wanna hang out?) And if he says yes, then AWSOME! If he says no, then he's a jerk who missed a GREAT opertunity. Thats how I look at things, and thats what makes me seem confident, even though i'm not.-lol- But guys LOVE that stuff. Well my bf says that they do. Good-Luck.

so
7th grade of 07, 2nd semester, math class
we were getting new seats
i was placed in a corner desk and next to me is, let's call him "Kuro".
we soon started to talk to each other
helped each other w/ da math, sumtyms even make fun of da teacher(not in a very mean way, jst playing around)
he wasn't rly sum1 u'd find cute,
but i decided to start to lyk him
anyway
even jst a little to make math class more to luk forward to
i found out dat he didnt hav any close frends
so i tried to treat him as a frend as best as i cud
i found out he had a myspace
but he sed he nvr goes online
i told him i'm always on, and no one ever is
so i forced him to go online
soon at school, he stopped trying to hang out w/ da guys and started hanging out at da table where me and my frends were
i got to noe him better soon enough
i both realized we're both kinda evil, in a childish way (he's worst doh haha)
i also realized dat i'm da only one who talks to him on myspace and he still goes online
i was da only one who cud actually continue on his weirdly violent, 'intellegent' conversations
unlike everyone else who jst says 'we dnt care(in a play way) hahaha nah jk'
he was lyk da exact opposite of me, so we got along
he soon put me #4 on his top friends
i started to lyk him a little more
he soon started telling me his secrets, and i was da only one dat noes about dem
i started to lyk him even more
but den soon he tells me he likes this girl dat was third on his top friends(his 1st nd 2nd wer his sisters)
i was disappointed, so i tried to give up on him
but den i was still luking forward to math class even doh he liked sum1 else
also wen i realized he was going to play an instrument for da 8th grd of 07 grad, i found myself begging for sum1 to take me, jst so i cud talk to him for 1 more extra day before summer
da day after da grad day he told me he stopped lyking da girl
i was strangely really happy
but wen i asked him who he liked now, he sed he dusnt lyk anyone ryt now, i was unordinarily disappointed
wen 8th grd started, i cudnt believe how much i wanted to b in da same classes as him
and on da classes we were both in, i cudnt believe how much i wanted to sit nxt to him
later on, i told da truth on me liking him to my closest frends
dey told me how ugly he was(not in a mean way, but jst in a compared, rlynotdeyrtype thing, rlly not cute and cool is kinda true >_ (link)

ok. First, I understand your IM laung. But, you over do it. It took me twicw as long as i could have to read your quistion. Second, It sounds like you and Kuro will never be more than friends. And hey, there is nothing wrong with this. But I think you shouuld tell him how you feel.But exsplain to him what you said in this message. Cause if he is your friend, he'll understand. At school we do this thing were a bunch of high school girls go and spend the evening with 8th grade girls and help them get ready to transition into high school. Every year we break into "teams" of about 30 girls and have cute little names and themes and what not
This year our overall theme is like a california beach glamour kind of idea (like when you think of a girl with her big sunglasses and long flowy hair driving a comfortable with palm trees around)
The name we have come up with so far is Sassy Sunrays but I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions
(it can be related to anything beach or ocean or glam or anything really... just preferable not super girly like princesses and babes and stuff.... and it must be middle school appropriate, but at the same time something that they would think is more highschoolish and cool!) (link)

Ok so im 14, 5'3" and i weigh about 115.
i am not fat just slightly overweight. I am hoping to workout all christmas break and when i come back to school i am skinnier to the point where people notice. i am aiming at about 110 to 105.
Does anyone know any workouts or diets that will make me lose weight within the christmas break period which is 2 weeks.
also.. this is off topic but i also have a SLIGHT acne problem.. what is acne solutions that work really well? or a really good cover up. i have already tried proactiv, it does not work on me.

Okay, I am in the marine corps and I am exactly 5'3" and I weight 118 and I am UNDER my weight standards. You are definitely not overwieght, even a little bit, so don't worry about it. About the acne thing, I would reccomend putting toothpaste on your zits for like two minutes, and then washing it off, because it dries them out. (use colgate)

If she says what movie she likes [and you haven't seen it] ask her what its about and if it is funny or not.
If you do know what movie she is talking about, talk about it, say what you liked about it and what was the best part, what actors you liked best. stuff like that. She'll have something to say about it, trust me.
And the hair thing, well we kinda absolutley have everything and anything to say about hair haha. So if someone has a bad hairdo we would be like...UHM EWWW! or something along those lines haha :]
And the things that intrests us are mostly what we like and dislike...like I enjoy music and all that stuff, but other girls may like soccer or drawing yuh know?
But what intrests us most are boys :] [unless a girl's preference is a girl, which is totally fine if thats what that girl likes] but we will often talk about guys haha :] I know, not the most interesting topic for a guy, but what can you do? most of us are boy crazy hehe.
So just relax, once you find things in common with one another, you'll have tons of stuff to talk about and I'm sure she'll have her input too. :]

I'll admit, I am only 14, but I love the military. I have wanted to be a fighter pilot dating back to when I was five. My father recently retired from the Navy, and I want to join USAF, but I can't. I have diabetes. I find is very discouraging and discriminating that diabetics can not join. If one wants to join, I think the oppurtunity should be there. Right now, I am in Junior Air Force ROTC and my high school. I love the class, and I we (the "flight") were informed that if we joined the service, we would automatically be started at a higher rank than the others. But I do not have the choice to join, and I am considering to write to George Bush explaning how I feel. Should I? (link)

Hi, I was also in NJROTC (naval rotc) for four years and now I am in the marine corps. I know how hard that must be, and I really feel for you, but those regulations were put in place for your and everyone else's safety. I know it is a real downer, but you can try exploring your options. I know that there are MANY ways for civilians to work with enlisted personnel, even if you have diabetes. I wouldn't reccommend writing President Bush because they are not his rules, they are safety regulations. (I also don't appreciate that other person calling Pres. Bush a fucktart..lol). Please do not give up hope to one day help serve your country! Good luck ;)

I am a female marine, and I would reccomend the army national guard, or the airforce. The order generally goes from "easiest" to most difficult: Airforce, Army & Navy (they are sorta in the same category), and then the Marine Corps. Good luck! ;)

I live near a city so i go into there a lot. when i do, i see soldiers sometimes, and marines. I always want to walk up to them and just give them big hugs, thank them and walk away. But i never do. Would it be weird if i walked up to them and stuck out my hand and said "thanks for everything"??? (link)

Hi, I am a female marine, and I know first-hand that it is VERY appreciated. The news gets us down sometimes because it seems as if everyone is against us and the war. A simple handshake is all it takes to let us know you care. Thank you so much for caring about our troops. ;)

this one girl at my school is horrible. she harrases other girls and she broke onto my screen name some how and pretended she was me. the police have been to her house once when she was in 5th grade but she always gets out of things and blames other people. everyone, even boys, are scared of her. how can I stop this girl?

First of all, bullies are ALWAYS insecure in some way or another, and she may be jealous of you. I know this probably sounds dorky, but I would reccommed talking to her. Just let her know that she doesn't have to act the way she does. If she continues to be a you-know-what, ignore her. I know this may be difficult, but sometimes this is the only way to deal with these sort of things.

What are some inexpensive items that would be good to send to the Troops in Iraq?
I found this website through a lady at the military hospital called ANYSOLDIER.COM. It gives soldiers in Iraq and other places a chance to post about their expierience and request items that they need or want. I really want to send a lot of things to the soldiers, but I need relatively inexpensive items that would be good for them since I'm only 14 and get a small weekly allowance (nothing like movies and cds that cost some money). I was thinking things like Kool-Aid packets, Beef Jerkey, Guitar Picks, and socks. My dad was in the military and my brother is currently in the military on a tour so I feel that I should donate as much as I can to the troops :]
What are some inexpensive items like the ones I listed that would be good to send to the troops? Where is the cheapest place you can get the item so I can get a lot of them?

Let me be the first to say that you are a good American for helping the troops out! I am a female marine and I appreciate anyone who cares about the troops. Before I joined the marine corps, I was part of a group that made Christmas bags for the soldiers in Iraq and filled them with gifts. Here are the BEST things to send: cleaning supplies (soap is GREATLY appreciated), playing cards, and anything of that nature. Good luck and thanks again for contributing!

One of my friends is 17 going to be 18 in about 5 months, is a senior in highschool, works at wendys making $7 an hour gets paid every 2 weeks and her pay checks are no more then $220. Today she signed up for the air force. I was talking to her online and she told me that she was going to buy another ipod. ( she already has 2 ipods ) i told her that she just needed to save the money. She got mad at told me she has no reason to save money cause she doesnt need to save for anything. I said thats the stupidiest thing i have ever heard. She needs to save for a car and a place to stay.She told me i was stupid and i didnt know anything about the airforce or the military services because they will provide her with a place to stay and enough money when she starts basic training that will last her for long enough. I told her that they only give her so much money when joining but she thinks that they give her a place to stay and all the money in the world.
I know im not her mom but how do i let her know she needs to save up money instead of blowing it on more ipods? Does the air force really provide you with a great place to stay and money to live off? She doesnt make enough money to waste it away.

Trust me, I am in the marine corps and to do become a soldier in the armed forces you MUST love it because the pay is not all that great. Sorry, but your friend probably has a "rosey-eyed" view of things if she things she will be making bank in the airforce. Just let her know how you feel, but let her make her own decisions. I just recently told my guy friend (who is now my boyfriend) that I have feelings for him. So, we decided to be together and there's a huge problem.
This all happened at worse time. He joined the Marines and will be leaving shortly after Thanksgiving. So everything happened pretty darn late. The thing is that I'm not sure if I want to be a military girlfriend or wife. I'm great at doing long distance, but I'm not sure if I'll be great at this. We are both 17 and I just feel so young for this. But I admit my feelings are very strong for him.
I would never convince someone not to follow their dreams, so that's way out. I guess what I'm asking is what to expect when your boyfriend is gone for so long?

Hi, I also have a boyfriend in the marine corps and I have been with him for two and a half years. He is the love of my life, but the distance is difficult. Trust me, I speak from experience (my dad was also in the military for 25yrs) when I say that you MUST have trust in order for this relationship. Not only trust in him, but trust in yourself that you can resist temptation. If you really love him, support him and be with him through this tough time. I wish you the best of luck. ;)

Now i was wondering while in the military, whether it be the Army, or Marines, Navy, etc.. while your in boot camp will they allow a female to put compact on? I'm not talking about a full load of make up with mascara and everything, but atleast some cover up to hide the blemishes.

That is great! I am a female myself and I understand completely how you feel. I believe it should only be used in reference to true love, but since your friends like to do it, that is okay too. My advice: try not to take it too seriously ;)
