im a 13 year old female. my mom is very strict about "getting enough sleep" and i have a VERY early bedtime. i have to be off the computer by 8:50 pm and i have to be in bed and be watching a half hour tv show from 9:00 to 9:30. i HAVE to be sleeping by 9:30 pm. even if im not done with homework or want to read a couple more pages of my book, I HAVE TO BE SLEEPING. so i go to sleep at 9:30 pm and wake up at 6:45 am. I think i don't need that much sleep. my friends go to bed at 11:30 and they are still wide awake at school. and what makes it worse is that i have the SAME exact bedtime as my 9 year old sister. thats 4 years apart!! i don't think it's fair and i don't think its neccessary to be sleeping by 9:30 pm i feel if i went to bed at 10 or 10:30, i would still get the sleep i need. what time do you guys go to bed and do you think my moms being fair? how can i get my mom to change my bedtime? and shes very strict so i need some good ways to pursuade her with.

Ahh. I remember the time when I begged my mom to let me stay up later when I was about your age. The best thing that you can do is talk to her. Don't be all whiny because that will really annoy her. Try to avoid saying 'Well, [sisters name] has the same bedtime as me!' and start throwing a temper tantrum. What I did was I stayed up 5 minutes later every night and my mom would sort of 'evaluate' how I was in the morning to see if I got enough sleep. She let me stay up 2 nights of the week [excluding weekends] and then eventually she let me stay up later. It's all in a matter of negotiating.

i have a wart on my leg. i have heard that putting duct tape on it helps or something. is this true? by the way, i am 15/f and i already have a doctor's appointment for this so don't tell me to go to the doctor.

I had a wart on my knee. TRUST ME. DUCT TAPE DOES NOT WORK! I went to my dermatologist and at first, she gave me this special cream [prescription] and then when I came back so that she could check the warts, she noticed that the cream wasn't working. So, she just froze it off. It was fast, easy, and a little painful. It really just depends on how bad your wart is.

ok this shirt i bought off of ebay arrived a few days ago but likee .. its smaller than the description said. and im really tall so when i move my hands anywhere above my waist it comes up. and theres a strict dress code in my school.

is there any possible way on the face of this earth i can stretch it or make it longer?

You can 'layer'. Which basically means that you take a longer shirt, and you put the smaller shirt on top. You can add a cute belt on top of the shirts. Just choose colors that look good combined.

I have this friend, who I love terrably, and were close, but we always seem to have fights between every 3 days and every other week, plus, there is something about her that is scary to me. I think that you should keep talking to her, but this is all of your decision. I mean, is she someone that you want to hang out with? Like I said, it's all your decision, and only you can decide. Do what you think is best.

Okay. Sorry if I'm dissapointing, but you could never make that work. You are still 13, you're still going through puberty. You need to wait until you are older. I think its illegal to even marry at 13? You're still growing up, wait until you're older. Trust me, its worth it. It might feel like 'oh this guy is great, he's soo perfect'.

ok. well i have stage fright rly bad. i freak out when i have to talk in front of my class of 23 people or less. i got accepted to be on a team at school. well we have to perform in front of hundreds of people at football games and pep rallies. im really scared. how can i get over this??

Look above everyone's head and sorta look at whats back behind everyone, so it looks like your eyes are looking at people, but they're actually focusing like on a wall, or something.

Well, about 4 minutes ago, all of a sudden I got a sharp pain in my stomach, & now it is still there. If I touch my stomach it gets worse. It's not like a pukey kind of pain, its like someone shot it. It hurts so bad. I have two questions:
1. What would be the cause of this?

2. How can I get rid of it? FAST!

You can try taking some Aspirin or Motrin. If that doesn't help, try going to the bathroom. If you can't, what I think that works is drinking tea and waiting for a couple of minutes, that usually makes me go to the bathroom. :] If you haven't had a bowel movement within 24 hours, it might be because a lot of fluids are in your stomach.

Hello! Well, when I first started webdesigning, I had NO clue on what HTML even was. I used a WONDERFUL site called lissaexplains.com. Lissa takes you through step-by-step guides on how to create different html and how to make tables, make links, add pictures, and all of that other good stuff. I also started out with a site called freewebs.com. They don't have any ads, and they have a beginner tool which you can use to help you start. You can also choose from their different premade layouts and some of them are professional-looking. If you have any questions, feel free to drop a message in my inbox!

I`m 15/f and im inlove with a 19 year old. It`s not that much of a difference but some people think it is. My parents wont let me see him because of his criminal record / past with drugs. What should I do? How can i find ways to be able to see him?

This is probably not what you wanted to hear, but you can't sneak around. Your parents WILL eventually find out. If they find out, you can be grounded for a really really long time and not have any boyfriends at all. You should probably take a little time off of your crush and try to reason with your parents. I think that they're trying to protect you because of his criminal/drug records. Love can be a dangerous thing. Just think this through first.

Well I'm going swimming tomorrow. Today I had my period for the first time and I tried a tampon. It was really hard to get out. I tried pulling it out in different directions and I tried like half a box of tampons and I'm pretty sure it's in correctly. The string almost broke when i tried to pull it out it hurts. My parents wont let me get in the water without a tampon and i cant sneak in without one because they check to make sure im not lying. Oh and ive tried the lowest absorbensy and lubricant stuff still doesnt help. Please help!

Okay, well, I think you're using the wrong tampons. If you use the regular ones, don't. Have you tried the 'junior' and 'slender' tampons? They're designed for first time users like you. You should try those out. Maybe you can put some lubricant on the tampon when you slide it inside because maybe you're pushing too hard.

Hello. I was just wondering if any of you knew how many seasons there are altogether of Beavis and Butthead. I'm buying the second season tomorrow from Best Buy because it's on sale. I already have the first. If anyone can please let me know! I tried searching on the Best Buy site, but all it came up with was the Beavis and Butthead Do America movie. I'm stupid for asking a question about Beavis and Butthead, but I think their funny as hell! Don't make fun of me! ;-)

Yes, I'm a pimple picker. Guilty as charged. I know the conseuences but for some reason its a natural reaction for me. I have so many scars on my chin and I don't know how to get rid of them. Should I talk to a dermatologist or are they permanent forever??

I've never personally tried this scar cream, but I've seen it on TV and its called 'Mederma', and theres one where kids can use it too. [not that you're a kid or anything. xD] On the commercial it says that it softens scars. The official site is posted below.

I think that you should make the first move. Since 'Bob' is so shy, he probably wants you to make the first move. And if you and Bob keep waiting around, then maybe he might feel like it won't work out between you two. Don't like, start making out with him all of a sudden. Take it nice && slow. Whisper in his ear, give him hugs, ect.

I've known my bestfriend since 7th grade (we're now both juniors) and we're the closest two friends can get and I love her to death.

Our freshman year, we'd always hear about this girl Meagan and how slutty and bitchy she is. Meagan is a grade ahead of us. Well, 2nd semester of freshman year my bestfriend had a class with her but only for about a week because she got switched out.

Last year, my sophomore year, I was in a class with her for the whole year and at fisrt I didn't like her because of the things I've heard but we started talking and she wasn't that bad. Yeah, some of the rumors were true but she was still a good, fun friend. Now we're really good friends. Not as good as my bestfriend and I, but nevertheless, friends.

So whenever I'm with my bestfriend, and I talk about Meagan, she gives me this disgusted look and talks smack about her. I tell her to shut up and not talk about people she doesn't know and then that's the end of it.

Meagan and I are going to a concert in July and I asked my bestfriend if she wanted to come with us because I know she likes that band. Well, she told me that if Meagan is going, she isn't.

How can I get her to stop being so judgmental and at least try to actually meet her?

I think that your friend is believing the rumors, but shes gone beyond that. Talk to your friend and tell her that you're hurting her feelings because Meagan is now your friend and your best friend is just going to have to accept that. If she's stubborn and doesn't want to reconsider, then maybe she's not a true friend? Let her be that way. If she still doesn't give in by the time of the concert, then I say, go ahead and go with Meagan. You shouldn't let your friend ruin your friendship with Meagan.

Nope. I don't think its tacky. It can actually be easier because if you're someone who is shy, then AIM is someone that you can go to. [lol] xDD. When I was 13, I used to always do that. Don't worry about it. Just don't keep doing that when you're in college, of course. Then you want to actually meet people face to face.

Yes. Even if you were drunk, and you may try to hide it from your bf, he WILL eventually find out, or someone can tell him. News spreads quickly throughout society. If you don't feel guilty, which you should at least a little, maybe your current bf isn't the right one for you?
