Well, you could probably predict my problem from the title of the question.


Back in the day (like, 8 months ago haha) I was 190 lbs.... EWWWWWWWW. I'm now around 155. Great, right? Nope! Ever part of my body shrank, I guess you could say, at the same rate, except for my arms.


They're still flabby and fat and huge and UGH! They're just not attractive, and completely unbalance my body.


I lost the majority of my weight the healthy way- exercise. I struggled with an eating disorder for awhile, but it's behind me now and I doubt I did any severe permanent damage.


My routine, which I stick to even today (because I know you need to keep it up, and fitness is a LIFESTYLE, not a fad) was:
- 20-30 minutes running, 5-6 days a week.
- 150-200 crunches
- Pilates 4 times a week or so.
- We have a home gym and I use around 30 lbs to work out my arms. Bench press, butterflys, and something with a pulley bar. 100 reps total between them.


Is there anything I need to modify or add to my routine, or am I stuck with flabby fatty arms for life? Thank you!!

Well you're definitely a female lol. I am sure your arms aren't THAT flabby and you're just making more out of it than it is but we all have weak points and generally for females one of them is their arms; triceps in particular.

Solid routine- very good all around; maybe add in some more arm exercises or increase the weight of what you're already doing a bit as it gets stale after a while if you don't change things up. Losing flab anywhere is going to require even better eating than you're doing now. It's hard work but it keeps you busy :-P

no it was test300. im stacking it with another style and used it in the other side of my ass.It was sore for one day, but this is now day 4 and the test side is still alittle swollen.What can a doctor do for this.What is causing the swelling, is it the possible air that may have got into it or what.

Well I can't advise you on how to take steroids lol. It's possible some air got in but only a doctor can tell you for sure what is causing this and treat it properly. I won't give you the gear lecture I just hope you're at least 23, training your ass off more than you can imagine for at least the last 7-10 years and that you understand all of the risks involved legally and medically and the consequences of the sum total of everything.

i started using a injected style steriod and i put the shot in my butt.Dont know if i got to much air in the needle or not but my tell is very swollen and i cant even sit down and it has been 3 days.Should i be concerned and will it go away.

I do cardio 5-6 days a week, but I'm interested in starting weight training/strength training. I have a few questions about this:
1) I am doing abs/arms tuesdays, thursdays, and saturdays, and lower body mondays, wednesdays, and fridays. Can I do these all on one days (ex. monday, wednesday, friday?)

2) Can I do abs every day? I have heard mixed opinions. Some people say it's ok to do abs everyday and others say that because abs are a muscle, I should only work them 3 days a week.

3) Do I need to be doing alot of different sorts of weights to see work (ex. Lots of different machines for arms and free weights, etc) or will just a few different exercises show results?

Where's the back, shoulder and chest workouts? You're going to be severely imbalanced in posture and muscle mass if you don't train everything.

You're doing way too much cardio to support muscle growth- 3 or 4 days a week maximum when you're trying to gain.

Way too much volume on the arms/legs workouts- this can be remedied if you just train your whole body like you're really supposed to so that everything doesn't come every other day.

You don't train abs every day of the week because you wouldn't train anything else everyday of the week- 3 days a week is the maximum I recommend.

Yes you will need a lot of different exercises done over a long period of time. Don't fall into the lazy "I don't do shoulders, back, chest, etc." hogwash- train your body not just some of it.

It's obvious from your question that you have no business using these supplements. Not only because you're under 18 but that you want to get them from CVS- a place where no experienced fitness enthusiast would shop for something like that.

They're reserved for the pro's and those who truly know fitness and their body and have a solid foundation built.

Stay away from them and stop listening to the commercials- I promise they're not for you.

Alright. This isn't quite as bad as the title makes it sound. I am 22/f and over Christmas while I was home I ended up running into my high school math teacher. He was only a year or two out of school when I was in high school. We had a pretty good conversation and I was talking a lot about my school, stress and thesis and he was funny and offered great advice. Anyways He sent me a really nice e-mail over the weekend (apparently he got my e-mail from another teacher I still stay in touch with) and asked me how was going, wished me the best and asked me if I’d like to get together for coffee or dinner when I'm finished.

So, he isn’t that much older then me, but it still seems a little awkward to agree to a date with someone who taught me. I think he is, at most, seven years older then me, but I want to know what other people think. Would be acceptable to go to dinner with him? I would really like too...

I flirted with sooooo many of my teachers. Go for it- I would love if some of the ones I flirted with would email me and wanna go to dinner lol. You're old enough to make your own choices and he's not your teacher anymore.

Usually I go on a special diet when I need/want to loose a few pounds.
I decided to do my usual diet and start actually working out.
Meaning; lifting weights,working on abs,doing more muscle building machines.
After I started doing that, instead of loosing weight ive been gaining it.
Usually, I dont gain weight that easily because I didnt go off my diet[that much haha].

It's not all muscle...not in the time frame you're talking about. Professional bodybuilders who are hardcore steroid users only average about 10 lbs gain of muscle in a whole year. Your 3 pounds is coming mostly from your eating, maybe less than a pound is true muscle.

im trying to loose weight, or just eat healthier. i gave up sweets for lent and i don't drink pop (when i do its diet but i never do) and i don't eat alot of junk food (basically none, not like chips and mcdonalds etc). i know fats are good, but what are they? i know theres saturated fats and unsaturated, which ones should i look out for?

Mono and Polyunsaturated fats are what you want to eat. Nuts and oils are good sources of this.

Fat is just the secondary energy source for your body that lasts longer than carbohydrates which are the primary energy source. It also helps regulate homeostasis by insulating the body and it lines the major organs.

That's an extremely broad question. Vegetarians don't necessarily lose more weight than meat eaters and they aren't necessarily healthier. It doesn't matter if you're vegan or not- if you eat like garbage then nothing is going to work.

Well I've been running and doing leg ups every day for a month and almost two but I've seen no results. How long do you have to do it til you see results?

Nobody can give you an exact answer to that so don't worry about it but I can at least tell you that it's going to take quite a while more.

I'm 19 and have an extreme fear of driving. I have my license, but everytime I attempt to get over my fear, I end up having a panic attack and not being able to think. I am okay with side streets with no cars, but once I get onto busy streets with traffic, I'm terrified. I don't know exactly what triggers it, but I think it's because I'm afraid I'll blank out while multi-tasking (as in reading road signs/directions & staying aware of other traffic), make a mistake & end up getting into an accident. I'm not ADD, but I don't think I am capable of thinking about everything at once - if that makes any sense. I have to move out in a couple months leaving me with no choice but to drive myself around. I am just wondering what can help me get over my fear of driving with other cars? Thank you.

Honestly- then you shouldn't be on the road. Driving is all about being able to make split second decisions and being observant. The only way to get good at it is to keep on doing it. That's it.

Okay so i ordered this tee called wu-long slimming tea and it burns more calories than green tea but ive been drinking it for a while and i dont see a difference in my weight. its supposed to slim you down cuz its natural but nothings happened. is there something i dont know about that i need to do to make it work? pllzz help soon..i rlly need to know.

Unfortunately you were suckered into a product that made you believe it could do something that it absolutely cannot do. I promise you that there is no food or drink out there that can do with this tea claims it can do.

How long would you have to be on an elliptical bike to burn the amount of calories equivalent to the amount you would burn if you ran for a half an hour?


Also, if i ate just vegetables and fruits, how long would it take to lose weight and see results of the weight loss combined with exercise?

Time isn't what you go by with cardio- it's the distance you're going to want to keep an eye on. It's about 100 calories per mile with running, do the elliptical for a half hour will more than suffice your cardio needs.

No one can tell you how long it takes and honestly it shouldn't matter because it isn't a race, but I can tell you that your approach isn't going to work. You need to eat sufficiently whether you're gaining or losing and living off fruits and veggies isn't eating sufficient.

Well considering you're too lazy to do real work I will also offer you the tidbit that veggies and fruits are all carbs. So if you eat fruits and veggies and "some carbs" then you're basically eating all carbs- your weight is going to go up if you do that. Good luck trying to do all of that without exercise since what you plan to do is not going to happen and if it does then be prepared to gain it all right back. Sorry- somebody had to tell you.

Maybe you should first mention your plight next time. It takes work- plain and simple...find a way around your obstacles rather than succumb to them.

okay so i know how dumb and unhealthy this is but i need to lose at least 5 pounds by friday: i am going to stick to fruit and then slim fast drinks for meal supplemts...and like lean chicken and tuna do you think this will work? i know its only a 4 day thing but i have to do it

Obviously you truly don't know or you wouldn't do it.

Come back and ask for real advice when you want real help and are willing to accept real responsibility because nothing anybody is going to tell you is going to be useful.
