Sabine answered Tuesday March 13 2007, 9:05 pm: The problem with this meal is that the macaroni is a processed complex carbohydrate made from wheat and the corn is another grain. The cheese is probably a low quality with high fat and low protein. I count corn and pasta as breads in my diet. The cheese counts as fat, with dairy and protein. You still need a vegetable, like broccoli or leafy greens (carrots have a greater number of simple carbs or sugars, so they're not as good a choice). Eat all of the veggies you want, but don't put a lot of butter or salad dressing on them. Also, try to limit your salt intake as it temporarily makes you retain water and therefore inflates your weight. Use portion control, meaning read the box and measure out only one portion. Don't eat more than one serving if you want to lose weight. You need to limit those carbs to a manageable level.
